TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 7:10pm On Jul 18, 2024
I used klm website and chose to pay at the office. That way, they send you reservation information via email. It’ll be valid for 2weeks.
Atinukemi23:
Please what travel agency did you use for flight reservation ?

some stated they have a dummy ticket ?

is there any airline that allows you to reserve a ticket and pay at a certain date(s)
Or perhaps pay a little deposit ?
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 3:30pm On Jul 18, 2024
Wow it’s now expensive. Paid N5,000 for each of us in May. And it’s 11 days of €35,500.
And yes there’s no family package.
Atinukemi23:
I have just sucessfully booked travel insurance on aiico ( https://ebusiness.aiicoplc.com) for 4 people
So it doesnt give you the option to do family package, you have to apply for everyone individually, personal/data page details, country of destination, date of travel and so on.
I selected the Europe coverage of €35500.
And there are 2 different types of Europe coverage, cover is also €35500 but excess is different one is €50 and the other is €100.
The one with €50 cost almost 13k per person and the other with €100 excess is 8500k per person adults and children ( for a week duration) and there are other choices to choose from.
Hope this helps.

Individual certificates.
The only group thing we submitted would be bank statements, parental consent for kids (1 copy for the 4 of us since we applied as a group)
Dentale:
Congratulations! Did you submit a group (family) insurance or did you do individual insurance certificates for all 4 of you? Kindly confirm, thanks.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 3:23pm On Jul 18, 2024
Sincerely not sure. But if you have a leave approval letter then I assume they serve the same purpose.
Trueigbo:
is this No objection letter compulsory
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 10:59pm On Jul 02, 2024
These are 2 different scenarios. His visa isn’t valid as of his date of boarding. The rule is that Check in staff must ensure each passenger has valid visas. Same as the immigration officer that will stamp him out. Remember that check in desk will scan the passport not just normal reading so it blinks either green or red. I suggest he goes there to verify. To avoid surprises.
Zoey1:
Yes. you can board.
You are touching that country when the visa starts.
If your visa expires on Aug 8th and you leave a country France same day , arriving Nigeria a day or 2 after… you won’t be termed an overstayer in another country by your immigration.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 10:46pm On Jul 02, 2024
No idea.
My advise would be for you to go to the airlines airport office and ask the people at check in counter. Go asap so if it’s not possible, you’d have enough time to think of way out.
All the best
Summerbutterfly:
Hello people

Has anyone experienced this before?

France has issued a visa from the 15th of July
But my departure from Abuja to France is on the 14th of July in the night, tho I’ll arrive on the 15th of July

Will they allow me board the plane on the 14th in Abuja ?

Happy they didn’t delay you. Congratulations in advance.

Passport collection alert !

I received an email this afternoon informing me that my passport is back from the consulate and ready for collection.
As a reminder, I submitted for biometrics on the 20th June 2024 so it's about 8 or 9 working days from the day of submission.
I only hope visa is granted.
Will be going there to collect the passport tomorrow.

I’m sorry I haven’t been online lately. Hope not too late?
It will be best you ask your questions here so others can have an input and learn too.
BabaShindara:
This documentation formation looks concise to get an approval. Please ma, if you don't mind I need your guildiance to fill the application form correctly and write a well articulated introductory letter for our travels. I'm traveling with my 2kids too.

Thanks.

TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 8:51am On Jun 28, 2024
My GTB online statement comes stamped so I just print and submit. But my zenith bank didn’t come with stamp so had to go to the bank and get it stamped. Better safe than sorry.
vikaosi:
Please for tourist visa, do I need I stamped bank statement or can I go with the online bank statement printout?

Thanks
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 2:04pm On Jun 24, 2024
I don’t think it will affect the visa decision especially when it’s tourist visa. If it’s a conference or study and the date has passed then maybe it will affect visa. This is my own personal opinion.
BruceXavier:
What happens if a decision is yet to be reached on your application but waiting period has exceeded your travel date and for that reason had to cancel some or all of your reservations to avoid losing money?
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 12:10pm On Jun 24, 2024
My cousin just told he’s yet to get a response. He submitted on 7th June in Abuja. His flight is for tomorrow 25th.
He’s trying to change the ticket but said the amount is almost half the ticket price.
Nicholasguzy:
I’m experiencing the same thing as well. Submitted since 20th of May and no response yet
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 11:34am On Jun 23, 2024
It’s normal to get the notification few hours after submitting biometrics. It’s a standard practice. I got it for ours and all visas were approved so be calm.
Nonamexxx:
Welp same. 20th of June
I'm so scared.
Did you get a notification that your passport had been transferred to the consulate few hours later?

I've been through the whole thread for like 5hrs. I noticed people who get notified that their passport is ready early get denied
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 11:49pm On Jun 19, 2024
You get mind o to book flight before getting approved visa. I want your type of courage abeg.
Anyway usually they process application within 8 working days. Pray yours don’t get delayed due to Olympic rush.
All the best.
yerilistik:
Please who knows the average processing time for france visa. I am seeing on TLS website extended processing time of 3 weeks minimum. I am afraid because my appointment for submission of application at TLS is tomorrow 20 june whie i booked my flight 12 june. I don't know if The application would have been processed and returned for pick up before 12 june.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 12:53am On Jun 19, 2024
It doesn’t matter what you applied for. They give you what they wish. No actual criteria. I and my kids applied for 11 days single entry but I got 5yrs multiple entry while my kids got different durations ranging from 2-3yrs.
mamawa123:
Does he applied for single or multiple entries?

I am not disputing your claim, but when my brother submitted his application last month, he got a 3-year Shengen (France) visa.

When he submitted his application, he applied for multiple entries, and he had an expired one-year Schengen (France) visa and expired 2-year UK visa stamps on his passport.

Apart from France and the UK, he has also visited Mexico, the Seychelles, and Belize in the past.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Blessedsteph: 11:15pm On Jun 08, 2024
This is very very unfair!
Very unnecessary!!!

Bigkenny:
The processing time for a standard visitor application is 3 weeks, and this is just an estimated time because some applicants get it within a few days after submission and some wait longer than the estimated 3 weeks.

Anyway, you should have paid for priority service since you're so impatient to wait for UKVI to decide on your application.

Some guys only have Coke money, but they are hungry for champagne.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 12:55am On Jun 01, 2024
Use klm then when it gets to payment, select pay at the bank.
You will be sent a reservation email, just print it and submit. Thats what I did. Didn’t pay a dime.
tunyuz:
Hello, yes I have gotten all the documents, but im yet to reserve flight. Can you tell me how you got your return ticket. I dont want to contact travel agent.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 12:53am On Jun 01, 2024
You can drop your email. Will send it to you.
Thanks

TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 9:45am On May 31, 2024
Do you think it has something to do with it? This my most recent application, my insurance was only for 11 days yet they gave me 5yrs visa.
I really don’t know how they make these decisions. I fit faint if I see 2 weeks 😂
pufframmy:
on your next application try and increase your Insurance
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 9:43am On May 31, 2024
2 weeks? Jesu! Ah! I am short of words. My sister manage it o. Better than denial.
Purpleivy:
I just got my second France Visa yesterday. Tell me why they gave me a 2weeks Multiple entry visa 😭😫 even though my first visa was 1month, I thought I would be getting more duration this time around.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Blessedsteph: 12:14pm On May 24, 2024
How much are you earning a month that you’d spend 250k on one child? Even as adult I put 60k for myself.
I don’t know much though, speaking from my personal experiences.

solid3:
Ha, me put 250k embarassed embarassed
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Blessedsteph: 11:32pm On May 23, 2024
Despite not paying bills themselves, you should still put an amount. I put 30k for my older kids then 40k for the younger one.
solid3:
Hello people, please can child expenses per month be ₦0 since they dont pay any bills?
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 12:05am On May 23, 2024
You’re welcome dear.
Yes I have 10yrs Uk, unused Canadian visa, valid US visa as well.
Likewise all my kids.
Marcgrace:
Hello @Blessedsteph
Thanks a lot for taking time to list all of these.
Do you also have the 10-year visas for UK, Canada or USA?

Thank you.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 12:13pm On May 22, 2024
Thank you.
You may be right. I am just thinking “what if”
I have emailed them anyway and let’s hear from them.
Meanwhile this also goes to prove that there’s no set rule to these visa stuff. Remember someone here said that after 1year visa, the next visa you get is 3yrs. So I was actually expecting 3 years for the 4 of us but look at me landing 5yrs visa just like that. Had to check the date well.
Zoey1:
In my opinion, no need.
Considering that either one day or 5years …it’s same €80 unlike UK where you pay different rates and the issuance is at the discretion of the VO.
I think you shouldn’t question this.
It’s fair enough.
Congrats again.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 11:18am On May 22, 2024
Passports picked up.
But there’s variation on expiry dates.
I, the mum was issued 5yrs visa while 2 of my kids were issued 3yrs visa each. But my last child who is 3yrs old was issued only 2yrs visa.
Is this normal?
I intend to write to the embassy incase it was an error.
Any input?
Meanwhile this is our second Schengen visa.
First time was 1yrs for all of us.

Blessedsteph:
Received collection mail this afternoon for all 4 applications but was quite busy at work.
Will pick up tomorrow. Will notify you all if it was successful or not.
Never been denied visa before so giving myself high hopes😂😂

Blessedsteph:
My first Schengen visa was from France. Applied for 8 days single entry for myself and my kids and we all got one year (didn’t even know it was one year initially…till I took a closer look at the dates).
The visa is expiring next month (June 2024) and we have just applied and submitted yesterday in Abuja. Will update once it’s out. We applied for 11 days single entry this time.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 7:18pm On May 14, 2024
Congratulations! Wow French sticker…where is your point of entry?
Ikebabay:
Visa issued. 3 months multiple entry. 30 days per stay. I was surprised to see a French sticker. I thought it would be Netherlands.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 12:01am On May 14, 2024
Let us know when you pick up. Share details. Congratulations in advance
Ikebabay:
I submitted April 30 and got a notification today that my passport is back at TLS. Note that I applied for Netherlands through France (i.e the French Consulate processes Netherlands visa in Nigeria). My first Schengen application though I have a travel history to over 10 countries.

Hopefully, you get an application update soon.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 5:42pm On May 13, 2024
Wow and we are here arguing about my 1 year.
Meshach171:
Not entirely true.
My first and only Schengen visa so far, I got 2 years.

And I applied for just 3 days visit.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Blessedsteph: 5:41pm On May 13, 2024
No, they’re not. My first child is 8yrs old and didn’t require biometrics. I submitted for all for them. Just make sure you snap a clear passport in white background and in the France visa size specifics.
icu4:
Hello House, I am on the verge of applying for a france visa with my 3months old. Pls Are infants required to attend the biometrics appointment.
