Did you add marriage certificate to your child’s own? I understand it can help with such. Did your husband write a consent letter approving for your son to be issued a visa to join you?

Wow!!! I didn’t even that’s possible. Why is ukvi now giving me a hard time to take my own one year old kid with me,(I got a work visa) just because the father isn’t interested in quitting his Well paid job to relocate. These people and their wahala is just ridiculous

Hi all…just to share something. My daughter’s birthday is in a month time and we already got visa to spend the entire period in Uk but now we decided to take 2 of her best friends on the trip. I applied for Uk visas for the 2 kids (both 8yrs old).
I am the sponsor so submitted:
my employment letter
payslip
account statement
Booked flights and hotels for the trip.
Visa data page (I and my kids all have 10yrs Uk visa)
Pictures of my daughter with her best friends from when they were 3yrs old till now they’re 8 (sleepovers, Christmas family group pictures)

From their parents:
authorization letter
copies of parents passports
kids birth certificates

Only mistake i made was not submitting the school documents of the girls (like fees payment or report sheet) as I always do for my own kids.
I also realized we should have submitted their parents bank statements showing they’re also capable of funding the trip. I really hope this won’t affect their chances of getting visas.
One of the kids had been denied Uk visa before but while filling the application, I surprisingly didn’t see the space where they ask if you have ever been denied visa before? (Has anyone noticed this?)

They both did biometrics on friday 7th July and e-mail came today that it’s has been received at the decision making office.
We are all so anxious 😬

Used KMP in May. You must submit your passport for scanning on the day of biometrics but they will hand it back to you immediately. Once your visa is ready you will get a call to resubmit it to the tls office. You have 28days to do this. Once submitted, it shouldn’t take more than 48hrs to receive collection mail. Mine came in less than 24hrs though. Abuja tls.

Once I am informed of decision, what is the timeline to submit passport?

Did you apply for 1 year or they just gave you 1 year because of frequent traveler status?
How long can you stay at each visit?

I applied for single entry but got 1yr multiple entry visa (90days maximum stay). It may be frequent traveler advantage or just luck

It doesn’t take a week. I have done this before. They will give you right away. Worst case scenario the following day. Your passport never leave that building so no way it will take a week. They will give you a form to fill and within 24hrs you get a mail asking you to come pick up your passport

It's not advisable to pay for a ticket before your visa is granted... you can always use a certified travel agent and for like 2 or 3k, they can hold a booking for you.

No, you can book a fully flexible ticket. Fully flexible ticket allows you to cancel and get 100% refund.

Yes I booked and paid in full. It’s a fully flexible ticket so I can cancel any day and receive full refund of the ticket.
I did the booking directly on Lufthansa so no agent involved

Pick up mail - 15th June
1 year multiple entry visa granted to all
Documents submitted:
Flight booking
Disney hotels/park entry booking
Letter of Introduction which shows our itinerary for our 8 days trip (separate letter for each child).
Sponsorship letter for the kids
Birth cert for kids
Consent letter for the kids (signed by both parents)
Copy of parents passport data page
University ID card for my adult child, school fees receipt for the younger ones.
My employment letter, leave approval , 3 months payslip (I attached these for each child too)
3 months salary account statement with about 3.7m balance
Personal usd account statement with 4,000usd balance.
Photocopy of every visa we have ever had both on old passports.
Prior to this, we all have valid 10yrs UK visa, US and Canada visas.

In my opinion, the documents they require for such a short term visa is quite much, there should be a platform where you submit these documents electronically not printing them all out. We are a family of 5 and believe me it wasn’t easy.

Okay that’s perfect then. If you walk into TLS and let them know what you want, it shouldn’t take more than 5-10mins for them to hand back your passport to you.

It means you are automatically canceling your visa application and forgoing the visa fees. Next time when you have another trip to make, pay for “keep my passport” so it doesn’t affect your other trips. Which category of visa did you apply for?

It’s possibly an oversight then. Not all of us gets certificate immediately after birth. I also got ours when we wanted to obtain passport. Fingers crossed for you

pls how do i attend to this issue for my daughter application, the date on the certificate(was issued) is 03/02/2023 and date of birth is 29/09/2021 there is no mentioned of 29/09/2023 in the certificate

This email suggests that the birth cert was issued in September 2023 and we are still in June.
Please look at the certificate well and see if there’s any error on date, if yes, go back to the hospital that issued it and request a new one then let the hospital give you a letter saying the error was from their end; get a court affidavit stating that it was a mistake from the hospital (remember to quote the hospital on the affidavit). Attach the hospital letter, affidavit from court and the new certificate and send back to them.
These shouldn’t take you more than a day to sort out.

Surprisingly this is very common. As long as there’s proof of relationship with the child and every other document is intact.

From my experience, Uk will not ask you to resubmit your passport if your visa was rejected.

Please if applying with children below 14years do they need to go along with you to TLS? I understand they don't need biometrics. Can one just go with their documents and not go with the kids?

you must go with the kids. Their face will be captured. My first child is 7 and her finger prints were taken and she was asked to confirm her name and DOB on live camera. I had to say the names and DOB for my 2 younger kids and they captured their faces but no finger print.

It was a renewal. Already had a 10 year visa from 2013.

Took 8 days from submission to email confirming passport return. Factor in DHL, then an extra day.

They’re quite fast these days. Mine took exactly 5 working days and it’s 10yrs as well for me and my kids. Last expired visa was 2yrs visa

Wonderful. So quick. I’m hoping we are able to resubmit the passport tomorrow. Got a text that passport has returned from Italy embassy today. Hopefully I can collect from TLS italy and handover to TLS UKVI immediately. Cant believe how absolutely nerve wrecking this process has been 😭

Happy to hear this. Was going to ask that you email UKVI asking for 2 more weeks to submit but glad this worked out. Keep me updated

Mine took a day. Submitted 11am and the next day before 10am I got a collection mail (TLs Abuja)

I never asked him/her not to declare that he has been refused visa before. I was responding to the personal account thing. I have done my biometrics and Yes i got my visa

I think it’s 6 months account statement that is needed.

Hasn’t been returned yet…. I mailed them asking them to return the passport that I need it for something…. They responded asking for details and asked for bank statement…. I mailed them again on Friday asking to please just return the passport. They responded on Monday that they will return it that Monday. I am still waiting. Today is like our 26 or 27th working day to return it to ukvi😭

Omg this is a tough one. I hope you get it returned ASAP

Have you done your biometrics? If not, I strongly advise you cancel that application and redo it. I know a few people here that was handed a 10yrs ban because they didn’t declare their previous visa refusal.

Haha thanks. I don’t need their permanent residency o. Yes you can. I did and had no problems. I guess as long as your travel date falls outside the visa validity period. Mine expires July 27, travel date august 9th

No, went from 2years to 10. Was skeptical though but read that it’s possible as long as your documentations are firm.
