BusinessRe: Local Vendors At War With Jumia by blessingee(op): 11:18am On Oct 18, 2017
grooga:
Jumia is becoming increasingly greedy as they gain more popularity. I have been buying shoes from them for sometime now, after i found same product I bought from Amazon cheaper on their site. I somehow found out the owner of the item i have patronized more after She sneaked her card into one of my orders. She has opened her own website now and i communicate with her often. She informed me that the people are Jumia are quite insensitive to their vendors and charge between 15-30% commission on sales, while these Global sellers are charged less than 10%...She also confided in me that some how without knowing it, Jumia is helping launder dirty money into Nigeria, because items are being sold sometimes without reasonable profit by the global vendors. I have long ago stopped patronizing Jumia after these revelations.
You are very correct. Its just sad. No govt regulation, hence the impunity!

I think this post Just made my day, make God bless the OP. Really educative, homourous and fact filled, this is the kind of post I do love to read and see in NL front burner. The truth is that naija no dey ever value her own, Even if I get money pass dangote I go get many local breeds for ma house starting from guava, to pawpaw, to watermelon, to citrus plants, to fowl, to turkey, to goat, to pigs down to our local ekuke. Cause the are really tasty and nutritious and are usually more resistance to diseases and have less chemical contents in them, thereby reducing the risk of cancer and it irks.
It high time we Africans started loving ourselves and our products, currently the Asians are known to last longer than the average man because the consume many natural food be it fruits or meat. The take enough natural supplements which boost body immunity such like supplements gotten from ginger, garlic etc. The prefer fresh food to processed food, the only go for the latter if that's the only choice, but down here we want b like oyinbo, forgetting say oyinbo dey eat process food because there whether no favor all year freshness for food. That why you hear of an Indian man giving birth to children at 90+, Japanese woman dies at 122 and so many other stories like that, but here in naija at 80 most men and women aren't active anymore both physically and sexually, because Chemical Don chop there body finish. My grand mum died at 79, but even at that age she still goes to farm, take care of her aged sick husband who died at over 100 and also engaged herself with other house chores and community activities. But today I dey notice say at 50-60 years some people don weak, the are already claiming papa and mama, why because of to much chemical in there body system.
Africa is too blessed by God, until we begin to realize that, we will keep being under the curse of low self esteem. Imagine the moringa plant which scientist made many findings about and even encouraged us to take as regular as possible, how many dey take am. But if to say na outside Dem dey follow dey ship am, and we dey buy am with dollars na so people for the rush am. Let start loving and promoting ourselves, because only then will dey rest of the world value and appreciate us.
#Blak is the new trend#
If to say your grand mum be die at 120 na, i for believe your wash, as e no happen, abeg clear make i see front... grin grin grin

Do u have a village? I don't think u have priced land in a village before oo
The flat he stays cost 55k a year, Do the maths and lets see how much it comes to monthly. Make una dey try read na. You just want to argue because you simply can't comprehend how someone will survive with 35k because you obviously cant in Lagos, PH or Abuja.

Let me help ur unbelieve. When I am low financially, I stay in my rented apartment close to my workplace. My work place is 30km from Kaduna town. Do u know how much I pay in that outskirt apartment? N500 per month. Lol. Others pay N400 sef but mine is standard room. I feel The room is larger than the one u live in now sef. I have the external bathroom to myself cos the landlord and his wife have everything insuite their flat. Need I go further? I dont think so
Thanks jare.

People just stay in big cities and assume nonsense without having a first hand idea of how life is in "village-like" cities.

that does not have any connection with planning, it's just a baseless trashy story.

He might be earning 35k as salary, but salary is not same as income. From all that he listed, it's obvious 35k can't do all those shit. Even ordinary N200 morning/N200 night food (assuming they feed twice a day) is already 400 +400 = 800.
800 × 30 days = 24,000.

rent and electricity = 6000 + 3000 = 9000.

35k has already finished.

So who will pay for every other monthly expenses.

Trashy article.
Trashy analysis by you!

Cost of living is not the same nationwide!

Someone who earns 35k in a village is almost same with someone who earns 100k in the city. Get your facts.

BusinessLocal Vendors At War With Jumia by blessingee(op): 6:08pm On Aug 21, 2017
Reports reaching us have it that Local Vendors of Jumia are currently staging a social media war with the management of Jumia to protest what they call introduction of harsh policies.

According to one of the merchants who pleaded anonymity, Jumia’s management introduce an international rivalry known as Jumia Global whop sell fake items directly from China into Nigeria hereby making Local Vendors lose visibility with a resultant effect of poor sales.

He also complained that one of the policies is the reason they now pay heavily for packaging materials which was offered to vendors at little or no cost. In addition to this, vendors also now jointly pay shipping fees with customers.

Another Vendor who chose to be identified as Ade Smart said “Jumia is killing our business, how can we be made to compete with Chinese merchants, it is not done anywhere. They have this lee-way because our government does not regulate trade properly”

The angry vendors took the fight to twitter and created an harsh-tag #NoLocalVendorsNoJumia #notoharshpolicies

We hope this is resolved before it gets out of hand.

To be honest, Yemi shouldnt be a coach! Her judgemental skill is poor! Wolei and Yimika are my two best performers so far. Wolei's falsetto is wow, he and majeeka did the toh-bad song better than niyiola sef! Yimika's range also was wow!..thank God they both got saved!..btw,who did the judge save between the two guys that sang 'Awe' by asa?
You mean the battle between Yimika and Bunmi - Eye Adaba by Asa?

Bunmi was picked by Yemi, while Timi and Pato stole Yimika

Yimika eventually chose Pato.
