^^The ones u asked to stick with me. lollz |
lollz! GEJ never disappoints. The guy has to be the most cunning character to make it to Asorock. Very intelligent and crafty. Who needs a second term wen u can jus add it to ur current tenure with out risk of electorate deciding contrary. ![]() |
Nigeria is their any news dat we won't here? ![]() |
^^ Let dem keep insulting their posterity via insulting God. They have been corrected but wat use is correcting people destined to die of ignorance. Don't let us stop u, keep mixing igbo and yoruba words without knowledge or understanding. ![]() |
Wat is Okorocha response to this atrocity and abomination meted out to innocent by-standers in his state on his watch. Surely, this act is unacceptable. ![]() |
This is great news. More such development required in the region. i.e sea port and rail station to and from port harcourt to Aba and Enugu. |
lollz! I am startin to think GEJ is clueless on terrorism and how to combat terrorist. This is a very wrong time to prosecute police brutality. The wrong message has been sent. Expect Law enforcement agency to take back seat on boko harem. Nonsense. ![]() |
^^mukina can u unban the banned? ![]() |

^^Lagos was developed by Federal Gov using federal tax fund and therefore belongs to all Nigerians. The fact that indigence have been given the priviledge to rule that teritory should not be taken for entitlement becos that could all change in the near future. I really would like to see the Yorubas try any stunt with people of the other tribes in Nigeria and outside Nigeria born and living in lagos, becos den it will be clear, dat they are the minority in Lagos. Build another type of metropolis on the level and scale of lagos itf the Oduduwa are dat wealth or smart and stop ranting about Lagos becos u don't own the place . It belongs to Nigeria. ![]() |
Are we having another emeagwali moment here Alj-Harem. We are still super-imposing onto something completely distinct. No let the Ewe here am for your mouth oooo! ![]() |
jason123:The Ewe people inhabit the territory equivalent roughly to the south-eastern quarter of Ghana and the southern half of TOGO. The EWE country is bounded by the rivers MONO and VOLTA and extends from the Atlantic coast inland up to about latitude 7. 6’N. in the east and latitude 7. 20’N. in the west. Across the south eastern boundary line a related people – the FON of BENIN (formerly DAHOMEY).The EWE people have not always lived in their present home. Their traditions recall a migration from the east – more precisely KETU a YORUBA town in modern BENIN. KETU is also called AMEDZOFE or MAWUFE in the accounts. KETU was founded by the YORUBA people by the fourteenth century at the latest. In it lived besides the forebears of the EWE, the YORUBA and the ancestors of the AJA, FON, and GA-DANGME. It was the expansion of the YORUBA people that pushed the EWE and related peoples westwardThis is wat we call super-imposition. The benin have the same claim to Yorubas and the Igbos can claim the Edo in turn and Yoruba too. |
The Ewe (Eʋeawó "Ewe people", Eʋedukɔ́ "Ewe nation"[1]) are a people located in the southeast corner of Ghana, east of the Volta River, in an area now described as the Volta Region, in southern Togo and western Benin. They speak the Ewe language (Eʋegbe) and are related to other speakers of Gbe languages, such as, the Fon, Gen, Phla Phera, and the Aja people of Togo and Benin.[/quote] |
Yorubas are not native to Ghana. I keep on telling people that.
Ghana? even Togo is questionable because dey were never able to get past the fon empire that lies on route. The only way was through the slave trade and alot of yoruba's were held and moved around during that period, along side other tribes. |
wrong again Origins Yoruba is the language spoken by a set of people in Western Africa. Its native name is ‘Ede Yoruba’, that is the Yoruba language. The language has its origins in the Yoruba people, who are believed to be descendants of Oduduwa, the son of a powerful god called Oludumare. They refer to themselves as ‘Omo Oduduwa’, which means Oduduwa’s children. The Yoruba people originated from the Western Nigeria. Places where the language is spoken are termed ‘Ile Yoruba’, the Yoruba land. The Yoruba lands span across the western region of Nigeria, from far south-western state of Lagos state to the mid-western Kwara state cutting across other states including Ekiti, Ogun, Oyo, Osun and Ondo. Yoruba land extend beyond the boundaries of Nigeria into nearby countries like the republic of Benin, Togo, and mid-eastern Ghana. The language is the pride of the Yoruba people with over 22 million speakers. The language has also been noted to be spoken within other languages in neighboring countries such as Benin and Togo. Traces have also been found in Sierra Leone where it’s called ‘Oku’ and in Cuba where it’s called ‘Nago’. It is argued that traces of the language can also be found in communities as far away as Brazil. http://www.kwintessential.co.uk/language/about/yoruba.html
Alj Harem u and Jason keep regurgitating historical narrative documented by yoruba scholars. of course the glorious aspects will only be told. i will give u evidence soon enough. |
Alj harem , I said the yoruba's intruded into their land and retreated in the face of defeat from the Dahomey_Amazons. Jason ., the oyo empire did not extend beyond benin into fon territory or Ghana. Both empire were stiff rivals. |
Jason, this is a short link but u will have to read and trace the history and kingdom to the ancient oyo empire. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dahomey_Amazons |
jason123:Jason, I know the story you are trying to tell but it's not quite the way u tell it. The gist is the yoruba's(men) intruded into the lands of the fon and were mistaken for hostile intruders and attacked by fon women and defeated from which the mythology of Amazonian women imaged. |
jason123:The oron and Annang don't consider dem-selves Ijaw but of Ibibio descent. The Idoma's and Igala should also be merged south east and south west for certain parts. This map is bul.l shi.t. ![]() |
jason123:Linguistically out of place Jason, Were are the ibibio,Annang,Oron of Akwa Ibom on the linguistic map? |
Looking at this map Ijaw is basically Rivers State and Awka Ibom and Abia sef. I dey laugh ooooooo! |
Dat is a 1960s post biafra war map and is distorted. Ibo territory is definately more than dat for real. U know as Igbo's retreated from the Nigerian Army the biafra map shrank and some choose to retain a shrinked map for real.
I wouldn't do that to the SE zone alone. Roughly speaking, modulo some changes here and there, this is what the state map of Nigeria should look like: https://www.learnnc.org/lp/media/uploads/2008/07/nigeria_linguistic_1979.jpg But for silly reasons, this isn't what we have right now.
|
i disagree with u the population of ijaw is over inflated and there land does not support such balysea, parts of delta/ondo(apio ijaw who are even yoruba speaking people) and parts or rivers thats all so how can that house 14 million ijaws as they claim, c'mon ijaws can not be more than 700, 000 at most if u look at the population density of those areas they occupy
Alj_harem u will be surprised because dey have babies every so frequent. they are definately more than 700,000. Eziachi:Why? Dey are trouble, i know but we will tolerate dem and high education standards will help. ![]() |
Toaskarity:The Ijaws will definately join the Igbos, jonathan is living prove of dat. As for delta state, the urhobo and isoko would most likely go with Edo because of cultural ties but maintain relations with Anioma Igbo's. Edo's will stay with yoruba's and itsekiri also. Benue will abort to the south east. Alternatively they form a south south state of their own which will be more convenient and attractive to them. |
ronkebp (f) ody, hmmmmm, so that is all you can offer, and you want them to open up' like dat, oti oooo@ronkebp! don't mind ak47mann. I know Igbo men married to yoruba women but unlike the vice versa is not publicised for everybody becos not necessary. These Igbo men are not going to say anything useful on Nairaland but in real life they marry yoruba women. My friend from Church (Redeem) is married to an Igbo man, she is Ijebu from Ogun State and dey have three kids now(a boy and twin girls). U have to understand dat psychology is the name of the game here and need to see beyond deceptive words dat are meaningless. Love is universal and doesn't discriminate but having said dat Igbo's don't go purposefully looking for a relationship with any particular tribe unlike yoruba men which is quite suspicious. |
Nayah:Desperado, I pity u! |
Mcleo007 (m)t! It has got to do with the fact we are much more beautiful than Yoruba girls. It has got to do with the fact that we are generally fairer in complexion. It has got to do with alot of steroe typical views Yoruba have about the Igbo's. It has got to do with wanting another man's wife. It has got to do with your competition with the Igbo's. It has got to do with your deep cited resentment for Igbo men. It has got to do with your level of un-intelligence. It has got to do with not appreciating yoruba women enough. xx ![]() |
@ Jason123. U don't need me to tell u the Ijaws are descended from a mixture of Igbo's and Ibibio, Annang, and Oron similar to Efik in the Benue-Congo which forms part of the Niger-Congo group of languages. Ijaws however due to coastal activity picked up alot of linguistic influence even from yoruba but does are minute compared to the later. Ijaws can trace their ancestry south east to the earlier groups mentioned. (Igbo,Ibibio,Annang,Oron and Efik) Jason we can all trace our early ancestry in Africa not just the yoruba's to benin. Even the Benin have an earlier origin and then the Urhobo but dat is for another day. xx ![]() |
