Soludo gave-up his chance to be in the lime light of Federal Level Politics, joined our very local party in order to serve our interest.

Ngige is always living under God father's, Is he not big enough to be a God father himself. Can you imagine an APGA with Ngige as National Leader?
Ngige it seems likes to sell himself short
On Point
PoliticsRe: Chris Ngige Is My Choice As The Next Anambra Governor by Bliss4Lyfe(f):
The east should capitalise on the up coming election to position itself via putting forward our best foot i.e best people and APGA prior to the 2019 contest.

Ngozi Okonjo iweala is a valuable human resource. Her connections are enormous and Abia or Delta can do with a Governor like herself although they might have to beg and persuade her to contest becos i suspect that she might not be interested in Nigeria Politics.

Apga was a party created by an Oxford graduate and should always present the best for Alaigbo. Lets have international bankers talk to international bankers in the east come 2015. nuff said.
PoliticsRe: Soludo's Manifesto For Anambra by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 10:51am On Aug 09, 2013
Nwanne we need that airport more than even those that have it. Thank God the wishes of NL does not affect what is on the ground. Orient Petroleum is spearheading it as we speak now. They will fund it 85% while Anambra will make up for the balance, already the land had been provided and compensation paid to the host communities. There is no way a state like Anambra with two major economic cities and now oil and gas economy does not have urgent need for an International Cargo/Passenger airport. Already the construction of the airport has been approved by FG, the land has been surveyed and fenced round.

I will keep posting this to remind some of doubting 'thomas' in our midst that the prelimnary work has taken off at the site.

THERE’S TALK ABOUT AN AIRPORT PROJECT THERE. CAN YOU ELUCIDATE ON THAT?

Yes, there will be an airport. I spoke about Orient Petroleum Resources PLC being a holding company. The holding company has four subsidiaries. One subsidiary is the refining of petro-chemical component which is going to operate the refinery; the second is the one that is about producing oil and gas; that is called the exploration and production subsidiary. Then we have a subsidiary which is gas and power which is supplying gas to Nkalagu cement, to breweries at 9th Mile, and possibly to this SABmiller Brewery in Onitsha. The final one is the infrastructure and services which will look after the airport and other infrastructure like housing and so on which will support the operations of the other three subsidiaries.

So the vision was that Orient will be a vertically integrated company. It derives its own raw materials, sells its products; provides its services. The airport was supposed to provide an outlet for aviation kerosene which is one of the products of the refinery. So planes will land there and load with aviation kerosene. That’s the aviation fuel (ATK). So there will be a pipeline that takes aviation kero there; the aircraft will load and we can be selling aviation kero to Kano International Airport, to Lagos, even to Ghana and other places right from that point. So the airport itself is to provide an outlet for aviation kero and also it will provide a quick source of spares. Let’s say you need something in the refinery, you fly it in. So we do have licence from the federal government to set up an international cargo airport to fly in materials there. This airport is located in about 1,200 hectares of land in Ifite Umuleri. It’s already surveyed and work will start very soon now that we have income from the oil production.

SO HOW SOON DO YOU RECKON THE AIRPORT WILL BE READY?

The airport will be constructed in phases just like the refinery. The first phase will be the runway and the cargo shed. Those ones could be done in 18 months and then the next phase will be the second runway so that it will be like Abuja which is getting the second runway. Lagos already has two runways. So we’re looking far ahead. These runways are of international standard; the ICAO standard (International Civil Aviation Authority).

They’re long enough to take a Boeing 747 cargo. The biggest jumbo jet can land in the airport; that’s why it’s so long; 1,300 hectares and the runway is about 4 kilometres. It’s longer than Enugu and Asaba airports. It’s again futuristic to make sure that in 20 years to come it will still be serving us.

SO IT WILL BE STRICTLY A CARGO AIRPORT AND NOT FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES?

Not quite. The licence is for international cargo and domestic passengers. So you can have passengers who are inside Nigeria. It’s not international passenger; it can’t take off from there and fly to London; no, but I can bring in materials from outside the country and fly materials out of the country; that’s cargo, but the airport itself can operate as a domestic airport. It will have a runway and a terminal building. The one in Enugu is international passenger airport but this one is international cargo.

http://elombah.com/index.php/articles-mainmenu/12391-orient-petroleum-has-come-to-stay
I see, it is like the new Anambra city Soludo makes reference to is situated along the Orient oil field region. Dat will be nice, as a hub for technology. Now i see the reference to Japan and Dubai. Which ever, Onitsha is ripe for its commercial status as the New York of Nigeria. The job prospects in that city is enormous, to be ignored for an oil dependence outlook. The Retail industry is a massive employer of youth.

PoliticsRe: Soludo's Manifesto For Anambra by Bliss4Lyfe(f):
The task ahead is mammoth, all we need is a Soludo to get the ball rolling.(World class urban planning, regeneration and geographical expansion) From small beginning comes great things.

Nnenna1 is right and yes a state can do with more than one international airport as time goes on, for now Asaba could add an additional terminal and make both interior and exterior of the Asaba International airport world class.

Third Niger Bridge could be a joint venture between Anambra and Asaba to reduce traffic to and from the airport, to onitsha.

PoliticsRe: Soludo With APGA Membership Card (picture) by Bliss4Lyfe(f):
Please let us stop dis hype about Ngige. Dora almost disorganised him in his very own constituency and she is a woman not particularly popular amongst some ndiigbo she dealt with during her time at NFADAC.

If Ngige is the challenge then Soludo will tear him apart one at a time all the way to the polling station. Not that i have anything against Ngige but APC Buhari, Tinubu and Fashola are not particularly good news together for Ndiigbo. Eyes wide open, who sanctions their own captivity?

Vote Ngige if u want to be deported from Lagos and insulted by Yorubas on Nairaland and Killed up North by Boko Haram, with no investment of tangibility in the east to fall back on, if this one Nigeria collapse tommorrow.

Dis is wat any sensible Igbo person should consider not Ngige past glory of roads in his village and some favoured surrounding communities but something that will benefit all people of Anambra like Peter Obi Roads and Soludo developing onitsha into a commercial hub amongst many other things, benefit all Ndiigbo SS/MD and all people. Think before u give ur vote.
PoliticsRe: Soludo's Manifesto For Anambra by Bliss4Lyfe(f):
IGBO-SON and Ikengawo, there is no doubt dat Onitsha should be the commercial capital of Nigeria. Onitsha is situated at a strategic location surrounded by oil producing states Anambra, Abia, Imo, Delta, Rivers, Cross River(Bakassi), Akwa Ibom, Edo,Bayelsa, Ondo to say the least. A nice motorway or high speed train(not light rail but solid train as in railway) for easy access from Cross River(Bakassi) and all the aforementioned states tells me businesses will flourish at Onitsha City. Enough of this Abuja and Lagos thieving of oil money to build non economically viable cities. Time to build a viable commercial city for the people of that region who at present have none.

Soludo plan is superb but the areas highlighted in my post are crucial. Anambra needs to encourage investment in Asaba, so rather than building an international airport, it did be wiser to request expansion of the Asaba International airport. Also rather than waiting for the federal gov to build the third niger bridge, a joint venture between Anambra and Delta would realise this ambition for a third Niger Bridge to facilitate access and reduce traffic, from onitsha to Asaba International Airport. The third Niger Bridge should carry rail tracks and steel framed in design.

On how to finance this project without putting the state in debt, Soludo should know as i don't want to give away a top secret of how on nairaland.

@Noblezone it should be Soludon 2014

PoliticsRe: Soludo's Manifesto For Anambra by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 9:21am On Aug 05, 2013
Yes we can...
PoliticsRe: Soludo's Manifesto For Anambra by Bliss4Lyfe(f):
Soludo is vast and trusted, but if i may make some recommendations, i did request urgent attention be given to cities like Onitsha(Asaba) and Nnewi as both the commercial and industrial capital of the State in particular Onitsha as an International commercial capital of Nigeria. Solid construction work needed along its bank and the city geographical sphere expanded. Onitsha as a business district at present is much too small. It should be a megacity in the east.

Thus a massive Seaport along the bank of the niger river would be necessitated for Cargo. A train station for Cargoes will be required on the Seaport for Cargoes from Aba and Nnewi. We also require a Solid Train station for commuters to onitsha(not light rail but solid train as in railway) and multinational inward investment. Perhap a free trade zone in Onitsha would suffice. The Niger River would require dredging to allow for Ships. A flood barrier would be required to safe guard the City Of Onitsha. Businesses moved to malls packaged to international standard(Onitsha market)preferably high rise building that provides for mall at the bottom, first or second floor and offices on the upper floors.

If u don't do it big, u aint doing nothing. cool

CultureRe: Is Mass Urbanization And Industrialization A Good Thing? by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 2:02pm On Jul 30, 2013
No it is not? Urbanisation and Industrialisation has to be targeted and designated to a specific sector of any country's economy.

Agriculture is central to any economy survival. Never underestimate agriculture, besides you have the environmental externalities that are attributed to mass urbanization and industrialization that are negative with health implication.
