Gov Peter Obi needs to earn this second term in office by engaging in mega-infrastructure project of some sort.This should be it(monorail) and terminal one of the Onitsha International Airport. Asaba is leading so far.

We need to see this project actualized and we will, becos Rochas bu okwu eme.

The Niger Bridge cost £5 million to build. Construction of the bridge was completed in December 1965 and was built by the british.

Wen u have understood that concept, then u will understand the unique position of the east to the entire south-south and northeast central(southern kogi and benue).

To be honest, South-south and Northeast central are peripheral parts of one half of southern Nigeria.The east is the core. it makes sense for these regions to form one country as it would be conducive.

The East shares borders with all these states from Edo to Kogi and Calabar. All they need is to reach some kind of arrangement prior to anything. Tribes that don't border the east and want to claim west can do so.

Port harcourt arguably is the most southern city of southern Nigeria and ideally positioned to be the capital city of not only the southsouth region but southern Nigeria.

Must that strategically positioned city from a state that produces the most oil in Nigeria continue to be neglected? Is that fair or are the south-south people that uneducated to demand their dues?

NNPC should move to port-harcourt along with all other oil company headquarters. All this robbing Peter to pay Paul in Nigeria political climate should be stopped.

Dey should just prepare an international standard skyscrapers and map out a district for themselves to live and work in port harcourt city PERIOD.

The above is a model for south east multiple floors airport structure. By the time it is completed it will take a whole different shape. In cases were all the airport is located in one site then a fulll size structure like the bottom picture is ideal. That is in the case of Enugu, and Owerri.

lollz, ok bliss won't disappoint, this is easy. Pick an object and split into two. The larger half is Onitsha international airport terminals and the other half Asaba Airport terminals. A plane is much appealing for the object.

The design should take two phase. That is the front of the building should be a mirrored glass structure with steel framework like the Heathrow airport terminal below. Whilst the top of the building should have a semi-circle birds eye view. like the second image below.

The watch tower could have a round sky scraper mirrored glass and steel structure as opposed to the tradition watch tower structure. Under-ground car parks could be represented buy the planes wheels in this case three. Provision should be made for train terminal and boats for those arriving by the waterways.

chino11: You get it wrong there. A state as economically big as Anambra does not have any business whatsoever partnering with any state whatsoever in the area of airport. A single individual in Nnewi or Onitsha can get it done with a single cheque, quote me. The likes of Coscharis, Nestoil, Ifeanyi Uba-Capital Oil, Ibeto even Genesis can fund airport of world class state.

That said, am sure Anambra will have its own Cargo/Passenger airport soon, God being on our side we will win as always. And I know that the airport will be internationalised due to huge commercial/economic activities hovering between Onitsha and Nnewi coupled with oil and gas residues and exploration that will be taking place in Anambra with the coming on stream of refinery.

Chino11, nwanne that decision was sought of concluded. Onitsha needs an integrated 4 super size terminal Cargo/Passenger international airport by 2015. The design is next topic Eze Onlytruth note.

Eze Onlytruth, with regards to the Onitsha International Airport, it is my opinion that Anambra and Delta State need a memorandum of understanding. After-all, Delta State had built the Asaba International Cargo Airport with Onitsha traders in mind.The one terminal international airport is not sufficient and sub-standard.

Like most world class airports such as Heathrow, it is not necessary to have all the terminals in one location. Some could be in Asaba and the others in Onitsha. A Cargo and Two Passenger Airport Terminal in Asaba then Two Cargos and Two Passenger terminals at the proposed Onitsha Airport. I will try to illustrate the model using an Object later.

On wat grounds shall this mediation take place? Why does the Sultan want to mediate now? Surely this same Sultan was approached by GEJ following the Christmas Day Bombing? Something is fishy.

There is no reason why everything in onitsha could not be packed into a skyscraper individually including hospitals, businesses, universities, hotels, government parastatals and residential apartments. Surely, the water front-side of onitsha should be internationally urbanised. There is money to be made in the construction industry, london 2012 is an example. When properly organised it will mope up alot of the jobless and destitute persons.

The project could be local with foreign partnership to ensure solid and long lasting constructions. Onitsha construction Agenda (OCA) 2040
