Kobojunkie:
Essentially we should all fold our arms, sit behind our masks and say prayers with anonymous monikers? The people all around the world today, standing up against injustice are f00ls because the way to do it is do nothing but leave all the work to God?

Anywho, if posting under different names on a forum helps to make you and yours feel better, good. At the end of the day, the cat still needs to be belled. If you do say God will come down to bell the cat for you, and do all that is necessary to see things change, then let it be that way unto you.  grin
"VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord. The blood cries to the Lord for Vengeance and if God chooses to use me to administer that vengeance, it would be a pleasure, for God can use anything to accomplish his wish. I believe in God. cool

GOD IS GOD and he presides over the affairs of man. Yes, he will judge the living and the dead. That judgement start from here on earth.

^^It is called karma nothing more. Those were people whose only crime was to attend church on christmas day. Such crimes will afflict generations yet unborn.  Blood is thicker than water hence careful not to spill because it doesn't end there.

^^ I see ur point but its not me dat needs persuading but the terrorist. Nigeria needs to close all its borders and monitor people entering our country via airport or seaport.

Reform the judiciary and Police; remove religion from politics and confine it strictly to individual bases not group or community as religion should have nothing to do with that.

It is purely an individuals relationship with God, like a man with his wife.

^^ Not a case of having refined product out and about but utilizing the revenues to Build Anambra State. Three world class cities, world class town villages.

Accountability is vital in dealing with thieves at the center of affairs, as the desire for self determination by the masses outweighs the urge for the greedy executive amongst us to en-mass wealth and condemn the masses to servitude.

It is funny how things change, once upon a time we all opposed American troops on our soil (Africom) but now we can't wait to greet them as heroes. I definitely see a South Korea and North Korea arrangement for Nigeria in the near future. American troops stationed in the pro-western south protecting us from the hostile, regressive and feudal Northern State.

To think the Aboki had it all at one time but greed was their own undoing.  undecided

Politics › Re: Northern Governors Declare War On Boko Haram by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 2:00pm On Jan 28, 2012
Asked if there had been some findings on the sponsorship of the terrorists group, following allegations that some governors even had a hand in the sponsorship, the governor said, 'No. I am not aware of that yet but what we understand is that most of them were trained outside in countries like Yemen and other places and that they participated in some other countries' issues.

'So that is why we must go the extra mile to ensure and we understand they are well funded even if not necessarily from Nigerians but that they are linked to Al-qaeda and so we must go the extra miles to do things.
Who is fooling who? They just let the cat out of the bag here but told a little lie to cover their backs alongside admitting they know them.

US Army prepares for Nigeria’s possible break-up

Date Added:2012-01-23 (Read: 329) Times

There are strong indications that the United States of America, USA, may be gearing up for a possible balkanisation of the country following developments in the last few years.
This indication is contained in a publication credited to NEWSRESCUE in America, where accounts of an article written by Director of the African Security Research Project in Washington, DC and Guest Columnist of AllAfrica Global Media, Mr. Daniel Volman and speakers in an AFRICOM conference held at Fort McNair were given.
It would be recalled that in 2005, the US predicted that Nigeria would cease to be a nation state in 2015 in view of threats posed by continued ethno-religious crisis over the years. Similarly, the United States military had, in May 2008, conducted a war games test called Unified Quest 2008, to ascertain how its military might respond to a war in parts of Africa with a mention of Nigeria.
Also, the question of how to handle possible splits between factions within the Nigerian government was tested with a plan by the Americans to send about 20,000 troops to secure and take over the oil-rich South while the North would be turned into an Arab aligned, possibly terrorist enclave.

Recent developments in the polity, namely the post-election violence up country, the activities of militants in the South and the recent activities of the Islamic Boko Haram sect in a spate of terrorism-like bomb attacks may have laid strong credence to the claim.
Indications are that the US will favour a disintegration of the country given Nigeria’s not too distant past romance with countries considered not to be allies of the self-acclaimed world super power.
The Nigerian government had not long ago signed deals with Russia and Iran for major resource, military and power (Nuclear generation) mutual ventures. This alliance did not go down well with the US as these nations are considered perpetual enemies. In addition, Nigeria has been promoting development, not by serving US interest but by cooperation’s with so-called third world Nations like Brazil.
The US has been known to be at the center of important breakups in the past. Countries like Vietnam and Korea had the US play a major skewed role, and when these Nations divided into North and South, the US stationed its troops at the border to defend usually the Southern territory, and the Northern usually became a rejected, isolated rudiment.
It would also be recalled that in the 2010 budget, the US had made provision for the expansion of  the operations of United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), which will provide increased security assistance to repressive regimes in Nigeria, Niger, Chad, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and key US allies such as Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti, Rwanda and Uganda.
This is even as in 2009, Nigeria’s late President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, clearly rejected the installation of US AFRICOM military command in Nigeria, probably sensing that the Pentagon had planned to establish a new military command in Africa.http://tumfweko.com/2012/01/23/us-army-prepares-for-nigerias-possible-break-up/

Politics › Re: Boko Haram: Why Is A Terrorist Wearing The Same Body Armour As The Army In Pic? by Bliss4Lyfe(op): 8:34am On Jan 28, 2012
Boko Haram vows to fight until Nigeria establishes sharia law. I propose the State rolls back the sharia system in place in Northern states. OBJ is the reason for the extremism of today. He made so much compromises to satisfy the generals and hold power.

BetaThings:
The US government is negotiating with Taliban (but not Al Qaeda)
They have negotiated with the government of Qatar to let the Taliban have an office there for this purpose
Beaf:
Are you suggesting that boko haram should be given an office in Abuja?
Dude, some words are not meant to be spoken.
BetaThings, The Taliban is not a terrorist organisation but an Islamist militant and political group that ruled large parts of Afghanistan and its capital, Kabul, as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan from September 1996 until October 2001.

@Beaf, BetaThings is being shrewd and suggesting a strategy auwal87 earlier proposed in this thread. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=851130.msg10013687#msg10013687

So, they want to kill igbos in Ala-igbo just becos we have chosen to allow peace rain by not responding violently to the Christmas day mass murder in church.

I really pity these people becos they are about to wake a sleeping lion. Far from the 1960s, the lion is more sophisticated and will develop weapons that will make their bombs look like knock-out.

^Not at all, plenty of academically orientated women get involved with current affairs.

One Nigeria is still very attractive as an option, i mean if a minority leader like GEJ could be voted President than their is hope despite the bigotry.

Ultimatelly, the centre should be weakened at some point with more responsibility and power devolved to the state Gov and local council.

Not sure I would like Jonathan to allocate that kind of power to the states all at once but over a period of Governments. Resources control is a good starter with varied federal gov resource tax allocation.

One Nigeria is the fantasy that we would love to actualise. A society were Blacks regardless of Linguistics, Religion and Cultural norms could share a common heritage as Africans and see each other as one people.

I love the idea but the founding fathers were bigots and we their children are suffering from their failure. I recently watched a speech by Amadu Bello and was totally shock about is mannerism and the lack of regard he had for fellow Nigerians from Awo and yorubas to Igbos in general.

The man did not mask it like Awo or Zik, he was all out and even admitted to giving preference to white ex patriot before other Nigerians as he put it. It really isn't hard to see why the coup happened and even Northerners like Mallam Aminu Kano was fed up and formed alliance with Zik.

On the igbo side perhaps they should have been more tolerant and patient for the politicians to resolve their dispute politically with out Army heavy handedness. Yorubas should have been a better middle man and negotiate understanding between the south and the north since they share borders with both, that would have gave them a stronger position and earned them respect of all sides rather than being so competitive.

Perhaps zoning with each zone competing within each other at election would have been ideal rather than each tribe from the three main zone at such an early stage of suspision. The North should never have killed other tribes, i mean the hate and suspicion from the sarduna was already angering other sections of the country but to kill was the breaking point.
