I

The answer to your question is NO. Nigerian Police was not as this worst in the 80’s and 90’s. I believe that answers your first question. Going forward to your second question , Police has been worst under the current administration than ever before. Look at the case of Wadume who confessed and he is still not sentenced, look at all the killings and misbehavior of police officials, have you heard anyone being sentenced yet ? The current Nigerian Police has no discipline. They do evil things and get away with it. I agree corruption is part of our problem but you have this able president integrity there , why is the corruption the highest under Mr Integrity. The present IG suppose to have been sacked in a sane Cline because he has failed so badly. Even the Burutai, he has done the best in can do as army chief and he is tired and not coming up with meaningful ideas anymore and also his term is done. Why not replace him. Why are all of you clamoring about Amotekun and you are not saying anything about the current killing and kidnapping of army and police officers in the north even happening this weekend and now. How is Amotekun more serious issue than Boko-haram and Fulani herdsmen. Sometimes I feel poverty makes some of you say thinks and think foolishly for some minor stipends. Am sure it Buhari ask some of you to slap your mom you will. Sad
U have even supplied answers to the issues u raised.
And this takes us back to my earlier point.
As long the new outfit is Nigerian, some powerful force will hijack it.
Is it not naija politicians?
That's why I prefer the nigerian army and police to be reformed.

And who is going to reform it? The damn outfit has been dysfunctional since how long? with successive govts not doing anything about it, think well before posting man.
Tell me. Who are they going to employ into the local police. The chinese? The Americans?
Is it not the same selfish, wicked, corrupt and greedy Nigerians littered everywhere they will employ?
U should think well before getting sentimental.
Name one instituted body in nigeria that has ever been free of controversy!
Is it no the same humans like u and me that make it corrupt?
Just watch the kind of crimes the new recruits will perpetrate over time.
Nigerians that cannot stand the test of time when money is involved in anything.

The way to go in Nigeria is restructuring. Under this government police and army have been politicized. A commissioner of police telling a governor that he doesn’t answer to the governor and only answer to the president. Even in the civilized countries like USA they also have neighborhood watch in some regions that works with the police . They have the Sheriff unit, state unit and federal unit of police force. That means the police force is broken into Federal , state and even cities. But here in our country the Abuja have to give the go ahead before police in Lagos attend to an emergency. The police will arrest a criminal in Ondo state and once it’s a Fulani/ Hausa man they ask them to transfer them to Abuja and give them freedom. If you believe in Nigerian police then just wait till they kill any of your family .
Oga ask urself ome question.
Was the Nigerian police this terrible in th 80s or early 90s?
If ur answer is no, then u should ask what went wrong.
The issues ur talking about are the same issues that we find in our universities, work places, etc.
It's the issue of greed and corruption.
U think if the sheriffs in America were so corrupt and undisciplined, that they will be where they are today?
U people are talking local police/vigilante as if they are going to import chinese people to come guard us.
Look it's the same nigerians who are greedy, tribalistic, selfish, wicked that they will employ.

And your police that you so much trust are not like animals too ? Harassing Nigerians and extorting Nigerians . Number 1 bribe collector, chasing after every Nigerian youth as fraudster. Killing innocent Chime for nothing in the police station. What’s even wrong with people’s brain sef . This set has failed us times without number but we still feel we should always trust them. How low can some people think
The police is an established institution all over the world.
U cant compare a police man to a local vigilante.
It's better to reform the police than create a monster.
The question we should ask ourselves is why the Nigerian police isn't functioning well.

Witchersunited:
ordinary OPC we all saw how bad that got, bulk of the cults in the south west are core opc members, if each state want to form their own vigilante its ok but regional is tribalistic, what happens when each zone starts doing it? Who is in charge of the so called units? When they go rouge with guns, who will call them to order, the states pushing this agenda can't even pay salaries

Is it this ones they will be able to pay, everybody is using sentiments to reason, Nigerians love distractions, this is keeping you busy forgetting that even with opc then, bad things still happened, this so called unit will only cause more harm than good

Let the states push forward the funds they have and let the police force recruit more police men and spread them there but this method is going to divide Nigeria, check points checking and robbing people, I can write up 100 pages of faults that will come from this.
Exactly. We r drifting towards a divisive strategy.
Most of the security men are gonna be cultists who think like animals.

Look lemme tell you something, If you understand what good music is... No Nigerian artist will sound professional in your ears. Do you understand?
I agree with u completely.
Can anyone compare M.I to fat joe or black thought?
Or tiwari savage to Kelly Rowland?
It's just the melody that attracts our ears.
Perhaps if they went to music school, some absurdities about them would be lifted off. But no. Look at tiwar savage, she cant even reach half her potential, singing useless lyrically subpar songs.
Perhaps burna boy comes close(I say this cos of the seamless collab he had with lily Allen and its lyrics)

Before anyone comes to argue against my point, pls make sure u have at least 30 gig of songs , from different genres spanning from the 60s to even 3 days ago when eminem dropped his surprise album.

The way Trump fills the brains of his supporters with nonsense.
Your mentality that harbours intolerance hatred towards gays is amongst the reasons for your backwardness.
I don't like gayism either both live and let live should be among the most basic principles thinking men live by.
Oga truth is bitter but u still got a swallow it.
Even CNN and Richard quest had to swallow it too last year when to their dismay America recorded perhaps the lowest employment level in its history. They even tried to say that too much employment could be detrimental in the long run! I watched it with my two naked eyes!
And for ur updated info, another trickled in that about 165 million Americans are employed (just yesterday o).

Now back to the gay issue, aswear ur underestimating what is going on if ur a Christian cos sooner or later ur pastor is gonna be gay too.
