Nothing we won't see on this thread How can someone be calling number termed intimidation? On a faceless forum? Some persons call these numbers just to portray their point better. If u can see it as intimidation u have self esteem issues gosh! It should even serve as more of a motivation, it gives u an idea of the kind of funds people have in these platforms, that way u feel relaxed & less fearful regardless of your amount. We just saw someone saying if his funds is safe in mmf, imagine such a person had 10m & seeing others saying they dumped 100m there, I believe he will be more relaxed. People should be free to express their point however they like, I don't see how this translates to intimidation at all. |

This wif just made me remember a guy called crash on YouTube, that guy had almost $5m worth of Brett as of early 2024 & was always saying he will never sell. Those coins will be worth less than $100k now. Imagine dropping from around $4.8m to $100k. If only he had that money in Bitcoinn, he will still be in profit, as at then Bitcoinn was around 60k. |

Uberchic1: If I am a zedcrest rep, will I be asking people to open CD instead? Please let's ask reasonable questions this early morning. God bless. There is nothing unreasonable about my question, any sane person will think same. I just realized alot of us got to know zedcrest here through u. Your comments have been personal & defensive. I don't see what would have triggered a neutral investor to do that in his post |
Investment › Re: Equity Investment. by Bluearrow: 9:26am On Mar 14 |
Uberchic1: Then people should just stop investing with zedcrest, no? Each fund performance relies on the selection of stocks.. We all know this. A sector might do well today and one fund manager heavily invested in it so they record heavy green while others who aren't heavily invested in that sector record tiny green or even red. The sector zedcrest invested heavily in did extremely well during the early bull run from January to late February. CD CSOF is even higher. Zrosk is almost on par with zedcrest. People should put their funds there instead if they want high ytd or just stick to regular Cardinal Stone for transparency. This isn't a new topic. Some others have mentioned zedcrest's lack of transparency before and it was heavily advised on this same thread to avoid them and do CD instead.
However, ignoring all the transparency talks a few pages back to still open zedcrest because of high ytd only to come and also complain of transparency. I mean, what is the point 💀
And btw, that person is even wrong about the ytd not reflecting. I posted screenshots to show that the ytd in fact went down a bit and reflected the losses. So let's sha not spread misinformation. Why are u getting all defensive? Are u a zedcrest representative? The way u are viewing this is kinda of surprising. This is not about zedcrest, it is about the YTD of fund managers without daily update like cardinal stone which can make gains or loss difficult to track. When I asked equity.m about this YTD thing few days ago, what prompted me was quantum zenith, not even zedcrest. |
Investment › Re: Equity Investment. by Bluearrow: 9:02am On Mar 14 |
Uberchic1: Just because some other fund managers record green doesn't mean all will record green the same day. The daily performance of each equity fund depends on the individual stocks in each fund managers portfolio. EquityM, you know this. So because CD did green doesn't mean Zedcrest must also do green. I honestly don't think the bold is his point, everyone know all fund managers don't have same stocks in their basket, so don't see this as an attack on zedcrest. The issue is YTD update. I asked equity.m this samething few days ago. How come equity market has been doing sideways since last week, but the YTD of some of these fund managers is still flying high? That was why he said if there is anyone that put their funds in January that can confirm the current yield on his capital. We should see reduction & increase swing as market fluctuates, which will make their unit price cheaper, but they all keep flying up. |

truthbetold22: Yes, I noticed CS gained around 1.5%. I monitor them daily. Once I recoup my loses from Zedcrest; I ll exit it and stick with cardinal stone. Transparency is much more important to me than profit. Zedcrest ytd rose yesterday but there was a loss.
So how do we justify that? It is possible some of these fund managers may not be updating their loss consistently. |

lucianohase: Why I am happy about this Iran's plan is is, it will make US at a point to decide to completely erase Iran, which is were this is heading to. For years now, I have said it that Iran will be destroyed and it is becoming a reality....The next, will be the unleash of a bomb that will cut most(90 percent) part of Iran off the surface of the earth and that will be it. It will shock the world and nothing will happen...History is about to repeat itself....They have threatened the life of US President and that's a big one, so the world should expect this any moment. My thought as well They are pushing their luck too far The consequence maybe very devastating for Iran |

EquityM: Spartacus has taken over the market; now may be the time to buy more dips, as they help to earn more dividends and units, which will turbocharge the portfolio once the bull returns. To protect your capital, new investors should stay away from the market for the time being. But their unit prices are still up I was thinking when we start seeing red, unit prices will drop. |

I just got an email from the bank offering their mutual funds; I guess they ran a check on my account and saw I do investments back home. Their MMF is 2% annually. Nah 2% for mmf is too low, that is not investment. Better to buy gold. Even dollar mutual fund does far more than 2%, is the currency stronger than dollar? |

Investment › Re: Equity Investment. by Bluearrow: 12:40pm On Mar 10 |
EquityM: My local bank emailed me about their mutual funds and equity funds as well. Nigeria's MMF and equity fund are far superior; however, their equity fund returns approximately 42% YTD annually and is heavily allocated to stocks in Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, and the Netherlands. I'll go ahead and sign up because the minimum subscription cost is only 25k in naira equivalent. I think strength of currency against inflation also play a role. There is no way a dollar equity fund or mmf will return same rate as naira. The high return also compensate for the weak currency. The local currency of the country u reside is likely to be stronger than naira. |

Focusmind: This thing is bad - we are about to do some renovation and prices have all gone up.
Some traders are quoting N13k for Dangote, when we budgeted N11800
Same with iron rods and other construction materials.
Plaster boards and POP are something else. Cement that was just 10000 less than 3 weeks ago. Imagine jumping to 12k straight. In 2020 multiple building construction used to go on in my street, since 2023 all of them has stopped & no new building project has started. In 2020 when I wanted to build, cement moved from I think 1800 to 2200, I was suggesting we should wait for price to drop, my engineer said we shouldn't wait, that whatever goes up in this country never comes down, see where the price is today. |
