raumdeuter:Was Tinubu president in 2022? |
Omo 😥 Those Boko Haram guys are heartless. There should be no reason to ever rehabilitate and goddamn terrorist! Just look at how they killed these soldiers 🤦♂️..... I can only imagine what this gruesome attack has done to mental health of the other soldiers that survived the attack
|
Tunde Bakare praying for Jonathan back then. Just imagine pwraon praying for Tinubh like this in 2026, if DSS no carry the pastor make I know wetin cause am!
|
chrisooblog:Not necessarily so. The thing is what the Niger Deltans were protesting for back then, they had some merits. They were battling environmental degradation, neglect of the region for key government infrastructure, etc. It was more like Yar Ardua saw some merits in their demands and not necessarily about capitulating. The Niger Delta terrain is also difficult to conduct sustained military operation without unaliving countless innocent people . |
GloriousGbola:MEND was formed towards the end of OBJ's tenure. Before MEND there were different factions of Niger Delta militants causing havoc in different parts of Niger Delta. To be fair, OBJ's government was more of their enemy because OBJ gave the security forces go ahead to go gun blazing against the militants back then. As much as the militants were being pummeled by the military, the swampy terrain of the naija Delta and the creeks gave them enough cover to operate and carry out kidnap for ransom wella. I guess Yar Adua didn't want to spend most of his time in office fighting the militants who were seriously impacting our oil output as at that time, so he brought up the amnesty program to put an end to the militancy in the Niger delta. The militants who keyed into the amnesty program became big men and kings in the naija Delta, and those that were busy shouting ASAWANA say dem no go gree were Unalived eventually. |
GloriousGbola:I met one of them last year ,he was reeling out how he worked in the Niger Delta for one of the major IOCs as head security. He said as part of his portfolio he oversaw resolution of over 50 kidnap cases by leading negotiation and giving tactical advice. |
raumdeuter:It was Yar Adua that granted amnesty to Niger Delta Militants in which he called for them to submit their arms and register under the amnesty program. Amnesty began 2009 , 2 years after OBJ exited the scene |
GloriousGbola:I'm hearing it from you for the first time that DSS ever delivered payment to MEND. I never read or heard about it till now. Do u honestly think MEND would trust DSS as escrow for money they(MEND) did all the work? I serious doubt this thing wey u talk. Maybe If I see a credible source write about it sha , I fit believe. To the best of my knowledge, Most of those foreign owned companies have ex- British Army officers, Ex-Special forces officers as their head of security who have had experience in hostage negotiation. Na them dey deal directly with the MEND guys. |
CrystalTiger:Do u know the crazy thing? Borno, Yobe and Adamawa used to be very peaceful parts of the North in the past. They were kinda peaceful than all those Kano, Kaduna, Plateau etc. that used to experience crisis frequently. Borno and Adamawa in particular had Christians in large quantity compared to what you have in states like Kano, Sokoto. University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) used to be a choice school for people all over the country. It is one of the major export of Borno state I think Boko Haram festering in Borno is not just random, was a deliberate attempt to rid that part of the country the large population of Christians they have there. When I was in serving, the bulk of kids that were transferred from all those Boko Haram affected states to other Unity schools under Jonathan government's scholarship were majority Christians. Most of those kids had horror stories to tell about how they lost their families, how they had to stop school and even their IDP camps were still further attacked by the Boko Haram guys. |
GloriousGbola:It's actually a very string allegation that DSS under OBJ paid MEND which was actually a terrorist group. I've never heard of it nor read about it before till today. What he opened at best was that those expats that were kidnapped back then in the naija Delta had their ransom paid by the IOCs they are working for. Till date most IOCs and even indigenous companies working in the Niger delta have an insurance policy called "Kidnap and Ransom" policy under which they always recover any ransom they pay to kidnappers who kidnap their staff. |
vislabraye:The club cannot just be signing players anyhow now. You can only hope Gyokeres will perform better than he did this year and improve as the new season begins. If Gabriel Jesus leaves, we will sign another striker but I doubt the striker will come and bench Gyokeres except Gyokeres drops form completely. |
What is happening is Delta sate, Warri precisely? I've been seeing posts by some Itsekiri telling Delta Ijaws to bring it on..... They said they defeated the whole national Ijaw in 1997 and they will defeat them now that they have access to more "tools". Una sure say all is well in that side? |
GloriousGbola:Can you provide proof that DSS was delivering ransom to MEND? |
Roland17:Not just Ribadu, but the top hierarchy of DSS too. I thought DSS is supposed to be our own FBI/internal intelligence agency responsible for gathering intelligence and foiling these types of attacks right from conception stage. Why do we have an intelligence agency in this country and every fortnight people get kidnapped in almost all parts of the country ? |
izzou:The worst thing that can happen to a person is to find himself surrounded by Mob bent on spilling one's blood. After these Oyo kidnap incident Bwala was on AriseTV last week and he was saying something like the people have a right to defend themselves with lethal weapons “The constitution has guarantee to every citizen of Nigeria the right to self defense, you have the right to defend yourself. Those are the words of Bwala. You know that it is just a thin line to cross from defending urself and actually committing a crime of unaliving a suspect the mob may have profiled. |
iamoyindamola:It looks as if we want to start selling players for their true value now, dem no wan dey sell our players for cheap. But true true we can reduce money for Everton, dem try for us. If they want Ben White too, they should come and carry him at discount price. |
iamoyindamola:That is very very necessary considering we have the funds to throw around and we are now a club that is attractive for any young player that intends to win something. But my fear now is that with the EPL we won, some of our players that should naturally be on their way out of the club may decide not to move on away from the club. See a player like Gabriel Jesus now, he fit just sit down for bench to run down his contract knowing he is on a good salary and will definitely get medal if we win any trophy because he will sha play at some minutes in the league to earn a medal. And if those players don't leave, it will be difficult stocking our team with more and more new players. |
izzou:Unfortunately, more and more of that harassment will happen except something drastic happens and people gain confidence of the security agents once more. The distrust has been growing for years, particularly the years under Buhari when people complain about Fulanis destroy their farmlands with cows, they report to police and have the Fulanis arrested but the herdsmen are later released with the Herdsmen later going back to harm the farmers. There was even a time I watched a video of a man in one of the villages in the southwest who had his two arms chopped off because he challenged Herdsmen grazing on his farm. Over the years the Fulanis have been fingered in most of the banditary/kidnap-for-ransom/terrorism happening in different parts of the country. Now that everybody is on edge , it is very likely that some innocent Fulanis may become victims of mob attacks and lynching. Even if security agents try to rescue them, the mob may resist thinking it is just the way They've always released the criminal elements when the people hand them over to security agents. That's why I say except there is a major shift and people gain back the trust of the security agents; things may get worse. It doesn't help matters that some of those Fulanis too lurk around the bush even when they are visibly not herding animals. People will naturally feel they are informants to the terrorists. |
iamoyindamola:Me too. The way he dey always hit the ball with shot dey always intrigue me. Most of our wingers don't the ball as poerful as he does, na only Trossard dey hit shot like that and it is occasionally sef. |
iamoyindamola:One man I know while growing up will say " Urhobo Wayo ! " ![]() |
This one they gave Trossard a new contract, I just hope it won't stop us from getting a very skillful and explosive LW sha. |
vislabraye:AM is not a priority for now except we want to dispose Eze which is very much unlikely . I believe Arteta will have Eze improve on his work rate and tracking his man when off the ball. Once that is sorted, we shouldn't have much headache in that department. The key areas we need urgent fixing is LW, RB, CF(With Jesus likely leaving ) and CM. |
iamoyindamola:I think Rogers is the right fit of player for us. The fact that he is comfortable playing from RW and LW is enough for me. |
iamoyindamola:The way dem dey jump and dance don even make person forget say the song na about pain and suffering; D |
Delta People sef 😂 /video/1?s=46 |
raumdeuter:It seems u are bored and u are looking for someone to follow u do pointless arguments. I am not available this night. Try some other time. Van Damme movie kor, Jason Statham movie ni |
raumdeuter:Yoh drifting into whataboutism and conspiracy theory simply because you want to prove a point. Smh 🤦♂️ |
Theflint1:Very funny stuff. I shouldn't believe the official report released by the government whose military carried out the operation, but I should assume things didn't go as planned simply because he has watched something similar in a movie. If anybody say wonders will end, na lie o. Wonders shall surely not end. |
raumdeuter:So we shouldn't believe the official result but believe speculations? I thought you used to deal with on my facts and official reports 🤷♂️ |
Emaprince:I have a feeling that once government acedes to their demand for ₦1 billion and release of other terrorists incarcerated in Agodi prisons, they have helped them set up bigger terrorists attacks in the future. It's certain they would use that funds to purchase more arms & ammunition ; those terrorists that are to be released may likely be some of their top commanders who will help them plan future attacks in the south west. The best bet is for our government to collaborate with the Americans or any other foreign powers that have forces with proven track records of carrying out hostage rescue operations under the toughest conditions. We should swallow our shame and ask for help while those kidnap victims are still alive and bring them back home. Yielding to the demands of the terrorists may just be beginning of further troubles for us as a country. And Tinubu should wrap it up and stop that nonsense of accusing opposition members when he should be dealing decisively with the terrorists responsible for the wicked acts. |
Ellexy:American Navy Seals Came into Nigeria to rescue an American citizen that was kidnapped in Niger and moved into Nigeria by terrorists in 2020. All the terrorists were neutralized and no single soldier died in the operation. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/oct/31/us-military-rescue-niger-nigeria Na Nigerian forces wey just dey incompetent, this one no be having Hollywood mindset or not |
izzou:Therein lies the problem. The moment that money is paid the terrorists will cash out and disappear into thin air. The terrorists and their affiliate will move on to another kidnap job and will keep moving across state lines unchallenged. I dey reason say normally if things work the way they ought to work in this country, the moment the kidnap was reported within hours, DSS, The army and maybe the airforce should've set a joint taskforce that will give those guys a chase or at least track them via unmanned drones deep inside the forest. At least DSS would have office in a state like Oyo, coordinating a search and rescue mission within hours after the incident happened would've saved everybody this headache now. Not that after the terrorists have moved for days, then we start setting up a team and deploying forest guards. |
