OkpaNsukkaisBae:Why not just move away from this and debate him on the substance of his subsequent post? I believe he has already made a post addressing the mixup of Hindu the religion and Hindi the language. It will actually be better if you debate the other points he raised like 57% of the Indian poulation speaking Hindi na. I'm sure other members of the thread and guests will learn one or two from the debate. |
Theflint1:I don’t read his post as blaming Lord Lugard for Nigerian state’s current woes ; instead I read it as someone stating the root cause of the problems we see today . Generally speaking , For most problems there is always a root cause and an immediate cause . The root cause is usually an underlying system or foundational issue that allowed the problem to exist/manifest, while the immediate cause is the direct and observable issue that allowed the problem to materialize . The foundation of the Nigerian state is faulty ! Luggard laid that faulty foundation with the forceful almagamation, the Indirect rule system and how they left the country when the British were leaving . The fact that the country survived up till this moment despite various “federating units “ working at cross purposes is still a mystery . There’s a reason the US Air war college published a paper in 2011 that hypothesized the possibility of Nigeria becoming a failed state by 2030. Our leaders have been ruling like everyone just wants to get whatever goodies they can get for themselves and their people before this artificial contraption implodes . |
I think going into the transfer market we need to Prioritize getting a CM who can equally play AM in the absence of Odegaard and Eze. It is safe to say Odegaard is not going anywhere and would always have Eze competing with him for that AM role come next season. Signing Tonali won't be a bad move at all. Also we urgently need a real RB who would deputize Timber on that right hand side of defense. We suffered greatly this season for not having a worthy backup for Timber. I want to believe Berta and his scouts must have identify a decent RB who would compete with Timber on the right. I really don't want to see Mosquera playing RB next season; he should just focus on developing into a cover CB for Saliba. I don't know much about the academy boys and their development, but it won't be bad if a RB from the academy is also promoted to join the first team. At least let such player be given chance to play cup matches like FA and Carabao cup We should really get the LW sorted during this Transfer window. I believe Trossard has really done well for this team and it is highly time he takes a bow while the ovation is loudest. We should let Trossard go and sign a very good LW to replace him. If we see suitors willing to drop good money, we should also cash-in on Martinelli. For all his speed and occasional solo goals, I think Arsenal deserve better than him as a winger if we really want to be creative on that side of the pitch. Finally, I believe I speak the mind of most fans when I say Arsenal needs to find a way to dispose of Gabriel Jesus and sign another striker who would put Gyokores on his toes. I don't see why Jesus should be allowed to be on Arsenal's payroll next season, I just don't see it. If we can get a young striker eager to make a name for himself in this current Arsenal set up, we should go for him. It doesn't need to be a big money signing like Gyokeres. |
GloriousGbola:Fiscal autonomy under the current system is a dream that will never come true. Nigeria is too dependent on natural resources which the country is rich in but not evenly distributed across different regions. While the southern parts and Middlebelt have majority of the natural resources that are economically valuable, the north is not so fortunate. How can you ever achieve financial autonomy with that realization? Maybe if the country had not deviated from the old regional governments, we had post-independence things may have been better. Maybe if each region had decided to invest in whatever resources they have comparative advantage in , things would've been better. Imagine if the north had invested in human capital and taken Agriculture more serious like they do in countries like Netherlands, they may not even have to look-up to FG's sharing formula to get their share from the South-South oil sales. Balkanization of the country in its present state is the only reasonable chance of pressing a reset button over the forceful union that has not yielded good fruit to all parties. |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Hindu is not a language , Hindi is . Hindi is the official language of India . Hindu is a person practicing Hinduism (the religion with the most number of adherents in India) |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:You can't be disagreeing because you feel like disagreeing with something that is a fact. Nobody is arguing with you whether they speak one thousand languages in India or not. Don't you understand what it means when they say people share cultural ancestral history ? The Central government in India uses Hindi as the official language and the language spoken in the Indian Parliament. Nigeria adopt English as official language because a Calabar man in Nigerian parliament has no business with speaking Yoruba, A TIV man shares absolute zero cultural values and language with the Igbo man. If u meet a man from Southern India and another one from Northern India you will hardly know the difference as a foreigner, same cannot be said about Nigerians from different parts of this country |
nihilistjnr:On this we agree. I think the president that takes the bold step towards Nigeria's disintegration will be the best president Nigeria ever had. |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:For starters the British employed Indirect rule in Nigeria while they adopted direct centralized rule in India. They unified the Indians under a centralized government and gave them a national identity forged out of their ancient civilization. India is an ancient civilization unlike what we have back in africa with different tribes and ethnic groups that don't share any sort of identity culturally . The British actually left a functioning state when they were exiting India at Independence. They actually built a state out of India which is in contrast to what they did with Nigeria. They practically left a divided under developed state comprised of culturally heterogenous groups that were forcefully amalgamated under one country. You really need to understand how terrible the idea of Lord Luggard's amalgamation was to understand the crime the British committed here. Nigeria was created for them to just extract our resources and nothing more. |
nihilistjnr:I agree with ur post 98%. The only point I disagree with is that "Nigeria has always been doomed with or without Tinubu". It gives a feeling like Tinubu can be absolved of any blame for the shambolic state we find ourselves as a people today. Tinubu himself made strange bed fellows in the name of playing politics and forming master strategist. For starters what business does a fellow like Bello Matawalle have with being appointed Minister for state for Defense? What is the pedigree of the man that made him fit for that role? He literally appointed as defense minister a man whose state was overrun by terrorists while he was governor. There are quite a number of these guys in his government that gives the feeling that he is more interested in politics than governance and that is showing in the results we see every day. He appointed Atiku Bagudu as his minister for budget despite that one being known as Abacha's bag man. |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:India is very much different from Nigeria; I don't even know where to start explaining this to you. |
akwesenana:Very funny stuff 😂 And the fact that he thinks because we complain about Tinubu's government, we are all suffering and not doing well in our respective careers even as the country cast reach.....He calls it wailing. |
The best fan base in the world!

Ellexy:Simple! Since Elder like his irresponsible principal thinks talking about southern or Northern politics is about emotions, let Atiku kukuma select another northerner like himself as his VP candidate na. Maybe if he does that he will win his first presidential election in over 30 years and stop being the serial failure we have come to know him to be. |
Some of the rival fans are just plainly shameless and hopeless, hence their wailings from the place of pain! Prior to the match rival fans both offline and online were predicting arsenal will be whitewashed by PSG the way Inter Milan swallowed goals in the final last year. Chelsea fans whose team were drubbed home and away on heavy goal difference by PSG hoped we would share in their misfortune while the other ones that either didn't qualify for champions league football or lost on the way thought PSG would give arsenal a humbling defeat so they can claim we didn't deserve the EPL like some dumb ones have been parrotting. When the match start reality hit everyone. They saw arsenal holding UCL champion to the jugular for 120 mins till the penalty shootout. Now the fear of what arsenal has become has not allowed them rest even when arsenal has moved on to relish the wonderful season they just had. Make no mistake, there will be more wailings in the coming days but be rest assured it is from a place of pain and copium! Arsenal tí di araba, inu'n bi old school ìrókò tree wọn! 😜 |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:This is why I told GloriousGbola those excuses he was giving on behalf of FG are actually not it. The government just chooses what it decides to prioritize while other issues are left unattended to. It's just the same way Buhari government left a lot of roads not repaired and then decided to start constructing railway line to Niger republic and we have people making excuses on behalf of Buhari's government explaining the benefits of constructing that railway line.🤦♂️ |

raumdeuter:Cry not for me, I have a trophy parade ongoing.....Cry for those who ended the season trophy less after signing gazillion of players and those who labored in vain all through the season!

Come to think of it, I never believe Havertz had it in him to score that type of goal he netted yesterday with the pressure and all. In fact, when he hit that shot I thought he side-netted. At the open air sports arena I watched the match, we were all in shock when he hit that ball. We couldn't decide if the ball hit the back of the net or if it was just a case of side netting. It was when the replayed was shown the reality hit us all. I believe yesterday's match was a lesson for all members of the team and the management Sha. Mosquera has definitely learnt his lesson and would time his tackles wella going forward. I'm proud of the team for how far we've come over time! |
Fkforyou:Congratulations to Rice, Gabriel and Rice ; they all deserve the special mention. If Timber wasn't injured he would've made the RB slot I'm very sure. We really had a fantastic year honestly! All our players did really well. I like the fact that there's a great team spirit around the team. |

Your champions are out with the trophy 🏆

Who be this one again? Later Una go say Una Don dey watch ball since 1845. He say Saka do handball 🤡🤡🤡 Anybody who knows ball and rules guiding handball knows if the ball hits Ur leg before hitting Ur arm it's not judged as handball. Trossard had his arm in natural position when the ball hit him prior to Havertz's goal, he say na handball 🤡🤡🤡 Only God knows why some rival fans just dull anyhow 🤷♂️ |
