This has always been an interesting topic but culture differs. And I understand why women especially those who marry out don't get ancestral properties.

We all understand the "why", but the truth is the why doesn't make much sense in relation to fairness and equity.

It just looks like punishing a woman for doing what a man does and doesn't get punished for.

Withdrawing it because she got married is denying her what should be her right. Since a man's inherited property is not withdrawn from him because he got married; doing the opposite for a woman is wrong. That is the definition of discrimination.

It looks as if we are punishing a woman for deciding to get married instead of staying single all her life just to remain "part of the family".

Nigeria deserves to and should lose all it's brightest minds, it's just unfortunate that some parents are not aware enough or having the means to make their kids ready for exams like the SATs else kids that are scoring high like this would perform well in the SATs and jet out.

It's become pretty common to have kids this talented get scopped up by uni's abroad, know someone that her two kids went like this, first girl straight to MIT and younger one to Stanford or some other Ivy institution, both girls scored around 350 in the JAMB exams.

Unfortunately, not many parents have means to make that possible for their kids.

JAMB explained that the exceptional admission policy aligns with global best practices, where underage cases are treated as rare exceptions rather than the norm.

In the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), a total of 2,031,133 candidates applied for admission, out of which 41,027 sought consideration under the special underage category. Of these, 599 candidates scored at least 80 percent in the UTME and were subjected to further scrutiny, including verification of their school certificates and post-UTME performance.

Following this phase, 182 candidates (178 plus 4) were shortlisted for the final stage of interviews and documentation. Upon completion of the process, 85 candidates were found to have met all required criteria and were subsequently cleared for admission.

JAMB further advised any of the 182 finalists who, for valid reasons, missed the final interview to submit a formal request through the JAMB Support Ticketing System under the category “2025 Underage Complaint.”

The Board said such complaints would be reviewed individually and treated strictly on merit.

I feel this is an unfair system introduced by JAMB. 599 candidates scored above 80% (i.e. 320 and above) but because they are underaged they were subjected to further scrutiny only for just 85 of them to be offered admission eventually.

The system just doesn't sit down well with me. It's either JAMB prevents underage students from writing the UTME totally or allow everyone who scored high to have equal opportunity to be considered for admission.

This is Nigeria; if care is not taken JAMB may have successfully created another black market where parents with means will be buying slot for their underaged kids to be considered for admission above others in similar categories.

Funny you should mention this, I hate it so much. I had to lecture you first that the program under which the funds were disbursed is designed for the growth of local talents and grassroot football.

That means if u are using the funds for infrastrure they are expecting you to build a mini stadium like campos mini stadium on Lagos Island (see attached Pix). Nobody is expecting u to build old Trafford or Emirates stadium with $1.2m like you ignorantly assumed when you were asking if it's $1.2m they use to build stadiums in Italy.

Our football Administrators messed up by presenting that crappy field they call stadium in Kebbi as evidence of what $1.2m can build In Nigeria. You also messed up by accusing FIFA of real easing paltry sum when you obviously had no idea about how the money came to being released and the use for which funds is meant for.
