Foreign AffairsRe: Nationalization Of Russian Assets Abroad Is 'a Double-edged Weapon', Says Putin by bn365(op): 3:13am On Apr 07, 2022
Here's the takeaway from the points you just made.
The United States seeks to dominate other countries. Purchasing Russian gas and military equipment is in India's national interest. Purchasing from Russia is in the best interests of Hungary, Germany, and a number of other countries. "Too bad," says the United States, "we don't care!" Do exactly what you're told.
As a country's leader, you're left with the choice of incurring the wrath of your people when gas and food prices skyrocket and protests become rampant and threaten your national security, or pleasing the US, which can turn on a dime and impose sanctions against your country for refusing to allow gay and transgender rights

Your arguing in favor of doing what the US says and alienating Russia?

VictorUSA:
bn365 my friend, Leaders who care 'bout the interest of their nation and tend to ignore world politics are not popular.

The U.S imposed sanctions on India few years ago for purchasing Russian weapons, I think S-400 or so.India was a staunch U.S ally but got aleniated after the sanction and decided to build good relation with Russia.

The US wants to dominate and control the world and they seek to do that thru nato.Countries know this and some of them are taking bold steps backward.E.g S/Arabia and India.

As for Hungary, Viktor Orban is just one example of international unpopular leaders. He is not swayed by the U.S, E.U, NATO and host of other countries that seems to presure them to stop buying Russian oil and to supply Ukraine with weapons.

The U.S wants to control the world and they are already doing it.They want to consolidate it. We will see how it goes.
Foreign AffairsRe: Nationalization Of Russian Assets Abroad Is 'a Double-edged Weapon', Says Putin by bn365(op):
I'd like to emphasize that I don't have the time or patience because I knew you had no idea what you were talking about.
To begin, for someone who just recently emerged from a pandemic and global lockdown courtesy of the US Pentagon, CIA, and state departments, to be writing a glowing review of the US and its allies, tells me a lot.
That should have given you an idea of the kind of tyranny with which the US and its allies rule the world. They control the narrative, so you can't talk about the US-funded labs in Ukraine where they were developing the hemorrhagic fever-like virus known as Ebola. They tested it in Liberia and Sierra Leone and intend to make it available to the rest of the world.
Coof has only a 0.1 percent kill rate. The mortality rate for Ebola is 50%.
Imagine releasing a virus on the world, where people lose blood until they die, and you had to watch it shown LIVE ON CNN
You'd be scared and willing to do everything you're told to do.
Second, Russia pursues a non-interference foreign policy. They make an effort not to meddle in the internal affairs of other countries.

Now, if I have to engage you, I'd like you to name one country in Africa, Only one, in which Russia intervened, and WHY?
I know I'm already asking for too much and you'd prove me right in your response.

If you choose to call me names, it says more about you than it does about me.

I could give you a laundry list of the Former Soviet Union's aid to Africa, but it is not my place to educate people on the internet.
Consider any bloody coup in the history of any African country. Because Africa was far more pro-communist, the CIA engaged in assassinations, coups, and counter-coups. The majority of the young leaders killed in Africa were as a result of US government intervention.

WoundedLamb:
Russia's contribution to the continent of Africa is that some South African leaders studied in Russia? This is your highlight? I gave you a rundown of how the US is the world's highest benefactor with figures and Russia is not even in the first 20. I pointed out how Russia has also done a lot military interventions which you used to discredit the US. And your response is, some South African leaders studied in Russia. With this response, I'm inclined to believe it's not the time you don't have but the points to engage. If I had engaged you with the normal Nairaland name calling, insults and emotional arguments, you would have gladly engaged me. It's not like I really expected a strong argument cause there's really nothing to compare. But your response is sidesplitting to say the least.
Foreign AffairsUs Vs Russia In Africa - Some Facts by bn365(op):
KNOW HISTORY:
Apartheid in South Africa was supported by the United States.
Some members of the [ANC]Government in South Africa today studied in Russia.
The US Army, Fauci, and the apartheid government injected Black South Africans with the AIDS virus in the 1980s[HISTORY REPEATS OR RHYTHMS?]
Many African leaders were assassinated by US intelligence agents during the Cold War.
The US wanted to introduce "democracy and rid the world of communism
While the CIA was overthrowing African leaders through coups, Russia was there to help.
Russia pursues a non-interference foreign policy. They make an effort not to meddle in the internal affairs of other countries.
Otherwise, name one country in Africa where Russia has intervened in their internal politics

Learn about African communism and liberation movements.
History has been scrubbed clean.
In my opinion, the former Soviet Union[USSR] did far more to assist African countries than the United States did.

Russia has been in Africa way more than you want to give them credit.
US-supported apartheid in South Africa. Some of the people in [ANC]Govt today in South Africa studied in Russia
While the CIA was overthrowing African leaders, Russia was succor.

WoundedLamb:
And how have they shown this care, brother? Did you just make this statement just for argument sake or you can really defend it? It's Russia we are talking about here, not China. What has Russia done for other countries compared to the US? With which economy have they done that? In what terms exactly? Humanitarian aids? Direct investments? Military or trade? Russia is nowhere on top of the list here. Russia only started romancing Africa in 2007 in a bid to expand thier influence and dealt mostly in arms and oil excavation (Rusel) before eventually becoming a noticeable trading partner in 2015.

The US provides the highest humanitarian aid to other countries in the world budgeting more than 0.5% of thier GNI for this. Your country, Nigeria, is in the top 10 recipient list (a total of $729.22m in 2017). Many global bodies have the US as thier major benefactor. Who has Russia helped? What has Russia done for your country? Does Russia even take up to 500 refugees in a year? Even when some countries face serious natural disasters, how much assistance does Russia give? Even South Korea does more than Russia.

In terms of foreign direct investment (FDI), the US is only second to the Netherlands. In terms of contribution to global research and education, the US, China and Japan take the lead. Why do you think other countries call on the US when they feel overwhelmed. Again, even your country, Nigeria, has repeatedly asked for US intervention in the fight against terrorism.

You talk about wars and military activities/intervention to discredit the US and yet, this is the only aspect where Russia is actually openly competing with the US. Though nothing compared to the US, Russia has military bases in other countries too. Russia has sent troops to countries too including Croatia, Sierra Loan, Sudan, Chad, Central African Republic, Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and many other countries (some invited, others uninvited). In fact, they also sent troops to Afghanistan just like the US did and they once took over Kabul and a great portion of the country too.

The US is powerful because many countries and global bodies are tapping from her abundant resources. This gives them a say in what happens around the world. Russia can't attain such height by military might alone. Russia has to actually be seen to really care about other countries if they must be regarded. I can't believe you made me do this apple and orange comparison.

Orban Revolts Against EU And West As He Declares Hungary Will Pay Putin For Gas
Hungarian Prime Minister Orban saying: "We don't have any difficulty paying in rubles, if the Russians ask us to, we pay in rubles."
Putin had previously demanded that payments for Russian gas from "unfriendly countries" be made in rubles.
Mr Orban's comments came after he secured a fourth consecutive term in power after a landslide election victory on Sunday.

The US wanted India to stop buying Russian products. Indian army equipment is Russian-made and maintained by Russia.
The whole world sees how the US uses sanctions to whip nations into line, why would nations give in to the US demands?
Days after a landslide victory in Hungary, the EU decides it was contemplating slapping sanctions on Hungary.
Hungarians voted against the wish of the EU, now they will get the treatment

Noise. Why do you believe news from Russia controlled media outlet? Is that not what a fool does?
What’s Russia doing in Ukraine, is it liberation?. Putin lapdogs are funny.

Have you seen pictures of how the Russian army massacred kids and defenseless people in Ukraine? What does your conscience say about that?
They tested Ebola on Liberians and Sierra-Leonians.
They had labs in Ukraine to create more of it, to unleash it on the world in order to grab more power
They locked down people, masked them, and mandated people get jabbed or lose their jobs.
What does your conscience say?

It happened just a few weeks ago and you have completely forgotten about it. They believe you have the memory of a goldfish.
They will get back to it again when they start losing their propaganda war in Ukraine

Slovakia will pay for Russian natural gas in rubles if that’s what it takes to keep the commodity flowing, Slovak Economy Minister Richard Sulik has said on national television.

“If there is a condition to pay in rubles, then we will pay in rubles,” Sulik said. He stressed that Russian imports account for roughly 85% of all Slovakian gas supplies, so the country’s authorities will remain pragmatic on the issue.

“We cannot be cut off from gas,” Sulik emphasized, urging the rest of Europe to jointly seek a solution.

Nationalise any German company operating in Russia.
Size any German Vessel passing close to Russia or the Black Sea
Target German Airline, Lufthanza, including using jets to hijack and escorted them to Russia.

In all this, I hope Nigeria is learning a lesson.
1. Storing excessive amounts of other peoples currency is not wealth but a risk

2. Exporting oil and any other high demand items in anything other than your own currency is downright stupid, because you are simply handing over your country wealth to another country. They can now print more paper currency at your expense. US and Europe are not resource rich countries, but anytime they need money they just print it, on the strength of the idiots around the world who keep stockpiling and demanding for their currencies.

Can you imagine that US simply gave more than 1000 USD to each family during covid. How, they just print money. You the stupid people demanding their currency ensures it does not loose value.

3. Soverign wealth funds is a misnomer, invest your wealth at home ir in infrastructure of a friendly country.

4. International loans are strings of slavery, live within your means, value your currency properly and you can afford your infrastructure with ease.
Demanding to be paid in Naira instead of Petrodollar will result in a war with the West.

nationalization of Russian energy assets abroad is 'a double-edged weapon', says Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that any move by foreign countries to nationalize Russian stakes in companies would be “a double-edged sword.”

“We are already hearing statements from officials about a possible nationalization of some of our assets,” he said. “How far will that get us? Let no one forget that it is a double-edged sword.”

Putin also bemoaned what he said was “administrative pressure on our company Gazprom in some European countries.” Germany on Monday put a government agency in charge of a longtime German subsidiary of Gazprom, the Russian state-controlled energy giant.

Gazprom said last week it had cut ties with the unit but Germany says that was invalid because the identity of any new owners is unclear and the deal happened without the required government approval.

President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that Russia must keep a close eye on its food exports to hostile countries because the West's sanctions had fomented a global food crisis and spiraling energy prices.
The Kremlin chief cautioned that higher energy prices combined with a shortage of fertilisers would prompt the West to print money to buy up supplies, leading to food shortages among poorer countries.

"They will inevitably exacerbate food shortages in the poorest regions of the world, spur new waves of migration and in general drive food prices even higher," Putin told a meeting on developing food production.

"In these current conditions, a shortage of fertilisers on the global market is inevitable," Putin said. "We will have to be more careful about food supplies abroad, especially carefully monitor the exports to countries which are hostile to us."
