It’s a city close to the separatist enclave, where Russia has air superiority (thanks to proximity to AA units in Crimea) and has surrounded it. And yet it’s held for weeks.

So yes, Mariupol will likely fall eventually. But as it stands, Russia still is yet to take any major city. And they’re also going to take significant losses as they advance into street fighting in the city
