Really, home grown players? This guy is Nigerian and is likely to be of the right age, not like most of the home-grown players who are fathers and elder brothers to him. If our best players are foreign-based, some could be allowed and not outrightly rejected.

Religion / Re: Antagonists Of The Gospel Of Infinite Grace; Answer This Question!! by bobbyL(m): 3:47pm On May 03, 2013
Ihedinobi: Ok. Thank you, bro.

Now, as you said, the Jews included miracles as work, did they not? That raises the question, "what can be considered work from which the Jew was commanded to abstain and what cannot?" Don't you agree?

I'm sure you noticed Jesus raising questions about activities carried out on the Sabbath. There is Luke 13:15-16 where He pointed out that even the rulers watered their livestock on the Sabbath and Matthew 12:3-6 where He pointed out that the priests in the Temple carried out activities that could also be termed work but were innocent of breaking the Sabbath and David who ate food that seemingly was unlawful for him to eat.

We are put in mind by those passages that Jesus was essentially saying that the Law had not been correctly appreciated by the Jews. As He said, it was about Him that Moses spoke.

Now, the Jews most likely defined working on the Sabbath to mean something that God didn't mean. As a result, by their questionable standards (I have illustrated how Jesus questioned those standards), Jesus broke the Sabbath but in reality He did not and implied as much by saying things like "man was not made for the Sabbath but the Sabbath for man" and "the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath".

In other words, Jesus NEVER broke the true Sabbath. What He did was reveal it. Do you understand, bro?
Are you an adventist?

Flop so far should be Robben. Missed chances.

It SOUNDS boring.

Imagine Saka telling someone who already plans to port from MTN or has just ported that "I don port O" in a way that suggests "u sef no go port?"
After MTN just finished frustrating my following Bayern vs Barca on NL and goal.com. Saka is on his own

Education / Re: Babcock University Increases School Fees, Now Up To N3million by bobbyL(m): 2:09pm On Apr 22, 2013
@eagle,eye
Please stop parading that UNCONFIRMED NUC RANKING. It's not on the NUC site.

@all
How do you expect private universities to be ranked ahead if UI, UNN, UNIBEN etc. They've only been around for about 14 years and some are actually doing okay. It is UNLIKELY any university within 15 YEARS would exceed other well established ones: Most of which - albethey presently in a worse state - are noted for excellence.
But believe you me, in years to come, if the state of government universities does not improve, PROPERLY run private universities would leave them in the dust.

@ Tolexander,
Babcock has a kind of agreement with ICAN, I'm not sure of the details but I think the students would be chartered by the time they graduate. That's why it runs for five years instead of four.
Education / Re: Babcock University Increases School Fees, Now Up To N3million by bobbyL(m): 10:11am On Apr 22, 2013
@eagle,eye
Your list is not on the NUC site, what other source is reliable enough to back it up.

@all
The fees charged by B.U may be higher than it should be, I admit. However, the reason why the federal and state unis are cheap is because government funds them, albeit inadequately, hence the rot in the system - a situation aggravated by corruption. Or how do you think the schools are run, with the fees? Even in the U.S, the government heavily funds private unis - which happen to be among the best. Education is expensive, although according to some, Babcock's fees and funds aren't adequately utilised judiciously.

@linearity.
Thanks for that. However I'm of the opinion that scientific postulates are inadequate. I sometimes have some ideas about why some things are the way they are. However, I may or may not be close to the truth, so I hold on to the promise that when we will be translated, at the end of this existence as we know it, we will know all things.

I believe all that is going on, the advancements in science and technology, the increase in knowledge, etc are all part of the sequence of happenings that would usher in the end.

The bible already says in the last days, knowledge shall increase, I think it's obvious where we stand in time. Thanks.

From what I've learnt, the antichrist would first deceive, showing seemingly good deeds before showing his true colour. Don't be deceived, the fact that one acts good doesn't mean he/she is good. It's all by the grace of God.

Chai. Nigerians haba, in fact, human beings haba.
One of the things I dislike about arguments like this is that people are not objective and calm enough to interpret the message.
The OP simply implies that since the new pope is a jesuit, if the oath above is indeed taken by jesuits, he must have taken in the PAST to become a jesuit.
NOT that he WILL take it as a pope. Chikena.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Beckham ‘to Earn More Than Messi’ This Season by bobbyL(m): 12:17pm On Mar 20, 2013

4. Samuel Eto’o - Anzhi: 24m (20m endorsements)

5. Neymar - Santos: 20m (7m endorsements)

Beckham as usual, like he was born to play make money from football.

It's surprising that Eto'o earns 83.3% of his income from endorsements. Is he that marketable?

For Neymar, the guy never enter Europe, im dey top 5 earners. In the future, he'll possibly earn more than Beckham is earning now.

There are two examples of such peeps. Da bull (don't know his present status accurately) and Mike Adenuga. I don't think it wise that the former did what he didn't need to do, the latter is understandable.

The pervading craze for private jets is now affecting the supporters club as well. What happened to chartered flights. I understand Mr Ladipo's point but I am virtually certain that the no of matches played by our national teams in a year is not too large. It isn't necessary, with the level of financial mismanagement in Naija.
BTW where is the money coming from?

Religion / Re: 6000 Romans Bow Before A Piece Of Decayed Meat. by bobbyL(m): 11:31am On Mar 12, 2013
A formerly living object, now dead naturally has little or no relevance more than OTHER inanimate objects. Bowing in reverence to a dead piece of flesh - which evidently isn't a one-off act - compares favourably with bowing and/or kneeling before idols or a dead ancestor's grave expecting your action to mean something. Now I think you can infer my point. Thanks.
Religion / Re: 6000 Romans Bow Before A Piece Of Decayed Meat. by bobbyL(m): 7:27pm On Mar 11, 2013
Why the arguments, the bible simply says thou shall not make thee any graven image or the likeness of anything in heaven, on earth or in the waters beneath the earth. God also says you shall not bow to them or serve them. That's for images you may say. Now, bowing to a dead piece of flesh is strange to me. I serve a living God.
God bless you.

I was put off by the title of the thread and I agree with most that some may not be able to handle the thought of struggling so much to pay their fees while others are riding state-of-the-art vehicles because they are possibly yahoo boys, prostitutes and the like.
However, I would really like, nay, love it if someone with access to reliable info can do us the favour of compiling the names of brilliant students/graduates all over Nigeria, as it may be difficult to get brilliant students who are making so much money. It would be nice to know those who are making it big legally, after putting in a lot of effort in school. It would also encourage many students to put in their best. Thanks.
Sports / Re: Eagles Next Target : World Cup Semi-Final? by bobbyL(m): 4:06pm On Feb 11, 2013
If we can accomplish this feat with the jettisoning of ineffective legs and nepotism-free assembling of players of diverse footballing exposure - local teams, average foreign teams, and top foreign teams - within a relatively short time, we can achieve greater things as the team further blends into a stronger unit. In fact, some of these players like Moses are fortunate to have been exposed to a functional system early enough for proper grooming. Now just imagine how much we can accomplish if many more -possibly better- talents are assiduously developed; breeding a group of talented, technically sound footballers kept as closely knit as possible with requisite flexibility. We definitely can become a highly respected fotballing nation and possibly lift the most coveted trophy of all. However, we must work to build a formidable structure and not expect magic from the team we have been gifted with.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Technical & Brain Teaser Questions Asked During Job Interviews by bobbyL(m): 11:17am On Sep 22, 2012
pour water into the 5 litre, transfer to the 8 litre. Do it again and you would have 2 litres left in the 5 litre container. Pour away the water in the 8 litre, pour the 2 in the 5 litre into the, fetch another 5 litres and add to the 2 in the 8 litre keg.

Similar process for the 3 and 5 litre jerry cans. Pour from 3 to 5, repeat and you have 1 litre left. Pour away from the 5 litre, pour the 1 litre into the 5, fetch 3 litres and add to 5.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Nigerian Army DSSC/SSC 2012 by bobbyL(m): 2:46am On Aug 02, 2012
Please house, I would like to know why the dssc of 6 months makes one have a higher rank and renumeration than the ssc which apart from being 9 months may result in combat involvement, hence more risk to life.
Also, if these two paths of getting into the army lasts for ten years, which route can one follow to be a permanent - i.e., till retirement - member of the armed forces.
Importantly, I say congrats to successful candidates and to those who almost made it, even if you weren't initially shortlisted, trial is your first step towards triumph, don't give up if you are indeed certain that this is what you want to do. Prepare hard for next year. And if you are no longer interested, wish you the best in whatever you determine to do.
YEah, and also best of luck to those still expecting their results if there are.
