Davido Lied! He Can’t Afford The Acquisition And Maintenance Of A Private Jet, See Why- Pas Chikero Nigerian Entertainers love to create hype with things that only exist in their minds. Psquare once misled Nigerians to believing that they have a private jet only to later admit they didn’t . David Adeleke a.k.a Davido is doing just the same. He tweeted a photo of himself sitting OUTSIDE a private jet ,mind you not inside. saying: Now this jet can in no way belong to Davido because he doesn’t make enough money to acquire and maintain a private jet. First of all he doesn’t make as much money as a John Mikel Obi makes yet Mikel doesn’t have a private jet because buying a private jet is not the only expensive aspect, you need to spend good money annually to maintain and manage the iron bird. Unless the jet belongs to Davido’s father but Davido can’t afford to have one. In fact there is no Nigerian Musician whose income is from just music can afford a private jet. This is why: After setting your account back to acquire a private jet, you start worrying about maintenance and management. It is expensive to maintain a private jet, you will pay for hanger, pilot and crew, Insurance etc , obviously the expenses varies wildly, depending on the aircraft being used but roughly Pilots and Crew will cost around $500,000 per year. Insurance – this can set you back up to $400,000 per year. Management Charges – this can cost between $125,000 and $250,000. They may be able to charter out the plane when not in use which will recoup some costs back.Training and Maintenance – this will add another $400,000 annually.Fuel Costs – Depends where you fly, but will cost at least $1,500 per hour. 400 hours would be $600,000.Catering – Add $10,000 for food and beverages (again there are no limits)Other Costs – Landing Fees, Airport taxes, Hangar rent, Weather Forecasting. So operational costs would come to around $3 million per year and more for larger aircraft. Davido definitely can’t spend almost N400 million annually on private jet alone! He might not even muscle that out in a single cheque ! So why the deception Davido? Please don’t build your career with lies. You are doing fine without the lies. It is big enough if you were chartering it, lying that it belongs to you is ludicrous! sourcehttp://www.olokunbolablessing.com/2014/08/davido-lied-he-cant-afford-acquisition.html |
Alhaja Odukanmi Kudirat, otherwise known as "Iyabo Oko", is a veteran actress of repute. She was born on 15th of November 1960 in Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State in Nigeria where she started schooling before she was taken to her soldier father who was based in Port Harcourt. Iyabo Oko joined acting at a very tender age, 1973 to be a precise on the platform of Eda Onileola theatre troupe. The ageless actress got the name Iyabo Oko which shot her to the limelight after she played the major character in the flick titled Oko, produced by Oga Bello. Sometime back, she spoke to City People's Yoruba Movie Reporter,GBOLAHAN ADETAYO on her life as an actress. How did you get into acting? My journey into acting was a very long one, but before I go into that, let me start with my names. I am Kudirat Odukanmi Oduola popularly known as Iyabo Oko, Apoti Aje and Sisi Mama. I started acting in 1973 through Chief Eda Onile Ola's caucus. I joined the industry simply because I had so much interest in it and I really appreciate God for all I have made in the profession. From the beginning, it was really challenging but along the line, things began to move smoothly for me. Acting was not something your parents will allow you to do then, but in my own case, I proved stubborn and I thank God I did not encounter any obstacles. How old were you in 1973 when you joined? I was so young in 1973. I was learning the vocation and I finally joined the league in 1974. Though I can't recollect the actual age I was, I remember that there was nothing on my chest to identify that I was a mature girl. I dropped out of school to venture into it. How about your educational background? Glory be to God Almighty for the little one I was able to acquire. I am a school cert. holder but it was by force. I went into acting immediately after I started my secondary school. My father wanted me in school by all means but I turned him down with just a school cert which was then like National Diploma. I started schooling from Oke-Ola Primary School, Iwo Osun State before I joined St. Andrews Recondary School, Port Harcourt. What prompted your schooling in Port Harcourt? My father was a soldier and after I completed my primary education, I was taken to him in Port Harcourt. I couldn't tell him that I wanted to go into acting because all his intention was for me to acquire all the degrees we have. So, I didn't inform him before I ran out of the house. When you ran away from the house, where did you go? I ran away to follow theatre practitioners for many years. In fact, I completed my secondary school as an actress then. I didn't return home again. My dad came to take me away from Baba Eda's house twice and I insisted that I wanted to act. He kept me in his care and I was going to school from there. I just started schooling in Port Harcourt before I saw them doing a stage play and I stopped my school to follow them, but when my father was disturbing himself over my career, I was asked to complete my secondary school which I did. How did he feel by the time you became famous? Unfortunately, he died before then. Only my mother witnessed my success in the acting industry and I really get pained each time I remember this. How did you become popular in the industry? I will attribute that to Veteran actor, Adebayo Salami a.k.a Oga Bello because he made me to become a star despite the uncountable movies I had featured in. But Oga Bello invited me to join his group because of the talent he saw in me and I joined him in Lagos. My first appearance movie that got me the fame was Oko (Stone) which many call me with and I always appreciate him for that because he made me not to regret my journey into acting. What influenced your ways of acting? There's nothing special about my acting prowess. It is what I am used to with when I started. If you watch the boss who taught me this job very well, you will agree with me that there's no role he can't play and he has imbibed that in us. If you want to be sucessful in this profession, you don't need to stick to one role at all times. Since you are gifted, producers will always opt for you because you are capable of giving them what they want and after that, many will start noticing your different talents. How about your buttocks? It is a God-given material from above. It's not something you can cover with wrapper and if you do, it will sure show up. I am not the first person to have such huge buttocks in the industry but God purposely made mine and that's why many keep eyeing it. They are eyeing it and it brings money for me and I pray that it should not perish. I really love the shape becuase many thought as old as I am, the stuff should go out of shape, but God made it the way it is. If I shake it to right or left, it goes to the direction I direct it to. What I mean is that many producers will tell me that they want me to catwalk and shake the buttocks, and I will bill them for this and I get paid. Producers demand for it to sell their movies. Are there no complains from your children over that? Not at all because they know that I am a responsible mother to the core. I don't go out with men. I have no one except my God and my children. My children don't complain because they know that their mum is a good mother, and I won't wear a mysterious dress that my children don't like. sourcehttp://www.olokunbolablessing.com/2014/08/i-used-my-big-buttocks-to-make-money.html

Nicki Minaj has been left traumatised after one of her backing dancers was attacked by an actual real-life snake, whilst rehearsing for the performance of her new track ‘Anaconda’ at the MTV VMAs tomorrow. In a cruel twist of fate (or possibly just the animal kingdom’s way of telling her Minajesty to STOP WITH THE BUM ‘THING’), the 6-foot long boa constrictor lunged for one of the dancers after getting ‘startled’.Not being funny and all that, but we’re sort of with the snake on this one – we were pretty startled just watching the video, let alone having to endure a performance of the track and witness all that bum-jiggling in real life. Sources close to the animal believe that the snake was already aggravated because of Nicki’s appropriation of the ‘Anaconda’ name in her song. The dancer (who’s not believed to have known their aggressor prior to the attack), is currently being treated at a local hospital in LA. The whereabouts of the now-infamous boa are currently unknown, and we STILL don’t know whether he or she will be planning another ‘revenge attack’. MTV’s Video Music Awards will be broadcast live tomorrow night, so Nicki might be better off swapping the volatile serpent for one of the stuffed ones you used to get in IKEA - or failing that, a draught excluder. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/nicki-minajs-dancer-gets-attacked-by.html |
Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus may be officially married to Doris Simeon ex-husband and Film maker, Daniel Ademinokan without people noticing. The much talked about relationship going on between Stella and Daniel has raised dust over the years and none of them has spoken about what they have for each other, but have given people a tip to what is going on. The duo do not waste the slightest opportunity to flaunt each other on social media. If the ring on Stella Damasus finger is anything to go by, it means the actress may be married again or have formalised her much talked about romance with the film maker or is it just a fashion ring. Even a fashion ring is not worn on that finger Stella wore hers. The big question remains has Stella embraced marriage again? sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/stella-damasus-in-second-marriage-again.html |
Charles Yegba, a Liberian rap artist. Photo courtesy of WHO Liberian rap artist, Charles Yegba, has penned a song about Ebola, admitting he originally doubted the existence of Ebola. According to the rap artiste, the song about Ebola is part of an educational campaign to raise awareness about the deadly disease affecting Liberia, Guinea, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. "I thought it was a lie (invented) to collect money because at that moment I hadn't seen people affected in my community," he explained. Charles revealed that his viewpoint changed when he encountered a man in Monrovia lying in the street with symptoms of Ebola. "At that moment, I started to believe. I began to see that other countries were being affected, that many people were starting to change their minds." "Take away the fear, don't hide yourself. People can still survive from Ebola," reads a line from Yegba's song. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/i-dont-believed-ebola-existedliberian.html |
Okay, okay, I know the title of my blog sounds pretty crazy to some, but trust me I'm about to tell you a truthful account of the day Jesus spoke to me, Fiona Finn. It all happened only a few years ago, just after I finished up my second round of chemo. You see, I fought most of that battle alone since my husband of ten years had abandoned me only months into therapy. I will never forget, signing the divorce agreement, all the while tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. Oh, how I wished he'd change his mind and somehow regret his decision to leave me and the children. But that was not to be. So, I let him go, in order to see if he was really mine to begin with. That said, he never returned, leaving me penniless and brokenhearted. Still my body was struggling to find balance. Undeniably, I was broken in every way humanly possible: physically, mentally, emotionally, and yes, even spiritually. It was then that I'd been referred to try acupuncture in order to find some relief. Honestly, all that came to mind when I heard the word 'acupuncture' was the image of all those pins and needles being inserted into my body. Really, it sounded like pain, a lot of pain. Why on earth would I subject myself to all of that, I asked myself? The strange thing is that never in a million years in my old life (pre-illness and divorce) would I have even considered being treated like a human pincushion. But my life had drastically changed and I needed to do something different in order to find some relief. So, I caved in and made an appointment. To say I was uncomfortable when I arrived is putting it mildly. I was damn right, scared. The acupuncturist/ owner spent time reviewing my medical history and then inserted lots of extremely thin needles throughout my body. She said that each point of entry was a strategic point on my body that once pricked would bring about healing. Honest to God, I would have tried anything at this point. My life was in my opinion ruined and most likely, beyond repair. As the owner was leaving the room, she told me to lie still, trying not to move and she'd be back in about forty-five minutes. I instantly shrieked "please check on me in twenty minutes." And as she turned off the lights and tried to close the door, I also asked "can you please leave the door open a crack." I wasn't comfortable in this new, strange environment but I proceeded to close my eyes while taking long, deep breathes. I kept saying "I am a child of God and no harm will come to me." Over and over, I repeated in my mind the same thought "I am a child of God and no harm will come to me." No sooner than I had repeated this four, maybe five times, I heard a male's voice, clear as day. He said to me in a peaceful and calming voice "Fiona, those are the same words that I said to myself on the way to the cross, my Crucifixion." Then and there, I knew it was Jesus speaking. This experience was so profound that I felt compelled find a rational explanation for what had happened to me. I was shocked to discover that I, like Deepak Chopra had achieved Christ consciousness without any knowledge of what it was. I had tapped into a direct channel or higher consciousness. This level of higher consciousness is the "point of contact with God." You see, Jesus is a perfect spiritual being, a direct extension of God if you will, who had a human experience. And we as humans have a shared experience with him. He felt what we feel, He thought what we think, and He feared what we fear. Therefore, we are really never alone! Yes, I have opened myself up to ridicule but by choice, mainly by releasing my controversial memoir RAW: One Woman's Journey Through Love, Loss, and Cancer. See, I'm usually not one to wave my religious flag about; I like to walk the walk instead of talk the talk. Nope, I'm not a wacko, nor am I a bible thumper, not that there's anything wrong with that. Yet, for the past few years, I've struggled to understand why had Jesus chosen to speak to me, an ordinary housewife anyway? It's not like I don't have my beliefs, I do... and I don't want to change your beliefs, trust me, I don't. It's just that I never really believed I would have to stand up for what I believe in. And when I released last week's viral blog titled "God and Angel in Photograph er Cape Coral, Florida" I knew I had hit upon something. Obviously, with over fifty thousand people liking the post within days I understood that there is a real thirst for people to share their beliefs and experiences without fear, without judgment. Today, I consider myself, somewhat of an enlightened housewife who's had an experience that many have sought to find, a mind-body transformation. And I want you to know that you too, can have this transformation, no matter what your beliefs are, as stated in the bible "these things that I do, you can do also." By tuning in. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/jesus-spoke-to-me-only-story-you-need.html |
In Nigeria, public office often usually 'lie' about their health status. Contrary to the official claims that President Goodluck Jonathan travelled to Germany on a private visit, Leaders has disclosed that the president actually took ill and had to leave the country for Germany to seek medical care. Efforts to get a confirmation from the Presidency failed up until the time of going to press, as several calls to his spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati, did not go through and he didn’t respond to an email enquiry either. Similarly, the senior special assistant to the president on public affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe, did not pick or return several calls to his mobile number last night. It was gathered that President Jonathan, on arrival in Germany, headed for a private hospital in the Germany for urgent medical attention. Jonathan left for Germany on Friday. Prior to his departure, presidential spokesman Abati had issued a terse statement saying the president would be making a "private visit" to Germany as from Friday and that he would be accompanied by some of his principal aides. Before his sudden departure for Germany on Thursday, President Jonathan was billed to host members of the just-concluded National Conference to a dinner at the Presidential Villa, but the programme was cancelled at the dying minute. Although no official reason was given for the cancellation, it was gathered that the development was connected with the president’s state of health which required urgent attention. An authoritative source in the Presidency told LEADERSHIP that despite assurances that the president would return soon from his trip, it was not likely as his health situation was not too good. He said there was uneasy calm and anxiety in the Presidential Villa over the state of health of President Jonathan. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/president-jonathan-is-having-high-blood.html

A Connecticut man was charged with murder, accused of fatally slashing his 1-year-old niece in her abdomen while babysitting, police said. Authorities in Bristol responded to a 911 call about an injured baby shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday. When they arrived at the home, officers encountered a person running toward them carrying a child with a severe laceration to her mid-section. Police officers gave the girl, Zaniyah Calloway, medical attention before paramedics brought her to Bristol Hospital. She was later flown to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, where she died, officials said. Arthur Hapgood, 36, of Waterbury, came out of the house without clothes, and he was taken into custody without incident, authorities said. Police said an 11-year-old child also was in the home at the time but wasn't harmed. Hapgood was brought to Bristol Hospital to be treated for undisclosed injuries. Bristol officers later charged him with murder with special circumstances, reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor. The motive for the slashing remained unclear Tuesday. Police said Hapgood invoked his 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination and refused to talk with them. A Bristol Superior Court judge set Hapgood's bail at $2.5 million during his arraignment Tuesday. Hapgood's public defender declined to comment. During the brief court appearance, a man who said he was Zaniyah's uncle shouted at Hapgood, asking him why he killed the girl and demanding that Hapgood look at him. "I just want justice," said the man, Juan Negro. "Why would you do this to a baby girl?" State court records show Hapgood has drug-selling convictions. In 2008, he was sentenced to four years in prison on drug charges, and he currently is on probation. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/man-charged-in-fatal-stabbing-of-1-year.html |
Snake Found In Car Boot ADVERTISEMENT When 23-year-old British nursery worker Charlie Wise picked up a second-hand Volkswagen Golf car for a few hundred dollars on ebay, she was over the moon with her bargain ride. Yet little did the unsuspecting car enthusiast realize that lurking within the boot of that second-hand motor was the sort of something which nightmares are made of. Let’s be honest. Car boots have long taken centre stage in many a grisly tale and horror flick. It’s where the butcherer keeps the body, it’s where the killer keeps his guns, and it’s where the dealer keeps his drugs. If a person’s got anything untoward, embarrassing, sinister, or outright illegal going on in their life, then chances are, at one time or another, they’ve kept it in the car boot. However, most people tend to check their boots before they sell their car, even if it’s to make sure there’s no incriminating blow-up dolls, drug paraphernalia or Barry Manilow CDs still in there to send a soul’s good name to damnation for all of eternity and beyond. So when Mrs Wise opened up the car boot on her recently purchased Volkswagen car to check out the sort of space she was rocking back there, she didn’t expect to come face to face with, wait for it, a huge boa constrictor snake. That’s right folks! The three foot long serpent was just chilling in the car boot and enjoying a little bit of down time. After all when you’re universally renowned as an eternal symbol of ancient evil, it’s important to take a break every now and then. The Daily Mirror reported that Mrs Wise and her husband Guy initially thought the coiled up reptile was a cuddly toy, but when the married couple saw the snake flick it’s tongue, they slammed that car boot firmly shut and ran away. Mrs Wise explained: “I bought a car, come home to clean it out to find a huge live snake in the boot. It’s huge and scary. We screamed and slammed the boot.” Fortunately, a friend of Mrs Wise slithered to the rescue and wrapped the snake in a towel and took it to a nearby reptile centre. Demanding to know how the Boa had ended up in her car boot, Mrs Wise contacted the car seller Christopher Morrison, of Bracknell, Berks, who informed her the Boa was his but he had lost it two months ago and had no idea it was in the car boot. The 29-year-old roofer and reptile collector explained he was moving the snake in a cage to a friend’s house when it vanished. The snake’s owner said: “I lost it a couple of months ago. I did have it in a cage and was moving it to my mates. It got out. I checked everywhere. I had ripped that car to pieces. I thought it must have got out. I wouldn’t leave it.” His heavily pregnant girlfriend, Sammi Larkins, who co-owned the car, added: “We wouldn’t have sold it if we thought it was in there.” The expression, ‘as slippery as a snake’ certainly springs, or should that be slithers, to mind. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/woman-opens-car-boot-and-discovers.html#more

Who knew texting could be used to accomplish something positive, other than maybe a late night booty call? In this case, a woman used texts to convince a thief to return her stolen van. Megan Bratten walked out of a Kmart in Missouri to discover that her van had been stolen. “An older gentleman was like, ‘Are you OK?’ and I said ‘No, I think my car just got stolen,’” she said. To make matters worse, Bratten, a single mother of five, uses the van for her work to support her family. “I just got angry and then I remembered that phone was in there and I thought ‘Let me text them a message’ and I did.” Bratten’s first text to the phone wasn’t the nicest imaginable, and understandably so. Besides using a few expletives, she said, in essence, “Hey, you just stole a single mother of five’s work van. You are ruining my life here.” She continued sending the angry and desperate texts for three hours before finally making one last plea, writing, “OMG car thief people can you just give me my van back! It would be epic, the miracle I need right now.” Against all odds, the text got through to the thief, who texted back step-by-step directions on where to find the van. Sure enough, she showed up and the van was right where the thief said it would be. The thief sent one final text message, explaining his actions, which read, “I do feel bad…my kids needed a meal on the table so that’s what their dad did got them food. I know its wrong but it’s been so hard since I lost my job.” sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/single-mother-asks-thief-to-return.html |
Darren is an adult. He sat in a chair not meant for an adult. It didn’t end well. Darren, from Manchester, went to a restaurant with a few friends. After a few beers, he had the bright idea that he should try to squeeze into a children’s high chair. Alas, he got stuck, despite being somewhat fit. Then began an epic struggle to free him from the high chair, and the results are inevitably absurd and hilarious. After being posted on Facebook, the video went viral. It’s been shared more than 72,000 times, and it’s definitely worth the time it takes to watch it. If you need any more convincing, just know that Darren removes his pants at one point to see if that helps. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/man-gets-stuck-in-high-chair-and-cant.html |
Saudi Saudi Arabia reportedly executed four brothers from the same family on Monday for their attempts to smuggle hashish into the kingdom, bringing the number of beheadings in Saudi up to 17 in the last two weeks. According to the Interior Ministry, the men were executed in the southern Najran province near Yemen after they were found guilty of handling the drugs by three courts, including an appeals court. The AP tally for this year now stands at 32 for people killed by the Saudi authorities for misdemeanors and major crimes. Due to the fact that Saudi Arabia’s Sharia Islamic legal code is not codified, individual judges have extensive powers to base verdicts and sentences on their own interpretation of Islamic law. This means that beheading four men for the relative minor crime of hashish smuggling is acceptable in the country, even though such an idea in the west would be preposterous. Al Jazeera reported that the accused men who were executed on Monday, Hadi bin Saleh Abdullah al-Mutlaq, Mufreh bin Jaber Zayed al-Yami, Ali bin Jaber Zayed al-Yami and Awadh bin Saleh Abdullah al-Mutlaq, were from Najran on the kingdom’s southern border with Yemen. ADVERTISEMENT The sentences were carried out despite the numerous and loud calls from international human rights groups such as Amnesty International, which said that the admissions of guilt from the men were most likely obtained through torture. Saudi lashings Allegations of regular beatings and sleep deprivation were denied by the authorities which said they don’t torture prisoners before they chop their heads off. The alleged offences took place back in 2007 at which time the kingdom allegedly told the families not to contact Amnesty international under fear of death. Saudi Arabia is known to have detained thousands of its citizens, and sentenced hundreds of them, after a campaign of bombings and killings from 2003-06 by an al-Qaeda group which killed hundreds. In the current climate in the region, the Saudis are as worried about the rise of groups like ISIS as anyone else and are treating the threat with a “zero tolerance” policy. It seems petty that, compared to the potential threat faced in Saudi Arabia at the hands of ISIS, they would choose this time to execute four men in connection with hashish charges. Nevertheless, the regime deals with all criminals with an iron fist with little regard for human rights or world condemnation. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/saudi-arabia-beheads-four-brothers-for.html |
Jaycee Chan, son of martial arts superstar Jackie Chan, has been arrested in Beijing in connection with possible drug use. According to reports by Chinese online and state media, Jaycee Chan (aka Fang Zuming) was present when Taiwanese actor Kai Ko (aka Ko Chen-tung), star of “You Are The Apple Of My Eye,” was recently arrested on drugs charges. Subsequently, The People’s Daily, one of the most important state media in China, reported that Chan was arrested after police found 100 grams of marijuana at his home. The problems for Chan and Ko follow a succession of other recent arrests in China of mainland, Taiwanese and Hong Kong actors on drugs charges. Their detention also follows the announcement last week that some 42 entertainment and performance agencies had stuck an agreement to boycott celebrities that take drugs. The agreement was organized by the Beijing Trade Association for Performances and called for the member companies to avoid giving work to drug-using actors or using tainted celebrities in promotional events. Jin Zhihai, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Anti-Drug Office, said that as public figures, stars need to provide good examples for juveniles and society. Other recent cases involved actor Gao Hu caught taking drugs on Aug. 4, singer Li Daimo, director Zhang Yuan, screenwriter Ning Caishen actor Zhang Mo, and Hong Kong actor Roy Cheung. It is unclear what, if any, impact Jaycee Chan’s issues will have on the trajectory of Jackie Chan. Chan senior, himself the son of a pre-war opium smuggler, has sometimes distanced himself from his son and previously said that Jaycee will not inherit any of his fortune. However Jackie Chan was recently in London promoting the U.K. release of “Chinese Zodiac.” Among the topics he discussed with The Guardian was his recent conversion to a more responsible form of parenting. Speaking in the U.K., Jackie Chan also confirmed that he was in early talks to board fourth instalments in the “Rush Hour” and “The Expendables” franchises. Jaycee Chan, 31, has appeared in some 20 movies including “The Drummer” and “The Sun Also Rises.” Brought up in Los Angeles, he has also tried to launch a music career. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/jackie-chans-son-jaycee-arrested-on.html |
View image on Twitter Mischa Badasyan is a 26-year-old gay man who sometimes feels lonely and unfulfilled from the sexual interactions initiated by hookup apps like Grindr and sites like GayRomeo. Badasyan is also a Russian-born, Berlin-based performance artist who, beginning in September, will have sex with a different man every day for an entire year. The controversial piece, titled "Save the Date," will explore the feeling of emptiness so pervasive in today's hookup culture, especially for gay men. For his piece, Badasyan takes inspiration from French philosopher Marc Auge, specifically from his theory of contemporary culture's "non-place." "Non-places are supermarkets, shopping malls, airports and other largely anonymous spots where people lose a sense of identity and feel like they don’t belong," Badasyan explained to Arts.Mic. "In these places, you don’t have to talk to anyone or feel a sense of belonging. That creates loneliness." Badasyan plans to use dating apps and websites to meet up with a variety of strangers, all men, in these types of non-places. The performance artist will explore what occurs at the nexus of anonymous sex and anonymous spaces. "Eventually I'll be like a non-place," he explained. The artwork will explore the contemporary phenomenon of being with so many people, physically or sexually, and yet feeling alone. Although Badasyan accepts the possibility he may not achieve his goal of one sexual partner a day, he is determined to do his best. He's cited Sophie Calle as an influence, who similarly toed the line between documentary and performance with a heavy dose of sexuality. This project has also been compared to Tehching Hsieh's year-long performances. In 1978 the Taiwanese artist spent a year locked in a wooden cage and in 1980 he punched a time clock every hour on the hour for an entire year. Badasyan has already signed up for internet sex sites to facilitate the serial performance; he's also been tested for STDs and has found himself a condom sponsor. The final pieces of the puzzle are the men themselves. Badasyan hopes to acquire a small token from each sexual partner, acquiring 365 objects throughout the performance and thus making "all of the non-places into a place." Although corners of the internet have been critical of Badasyan's artistic experiment thus far, we wonder if this ire will compare to those who actually have sex for the sake of art. "Generally, I’m not going to tell my dates about this project," the artist told Vocativ. "What if I tell you I just had sex with you for an art project? People won’t like that. It’s horrible, actually." In a somewhat similar scenario, there was the artist who lost his virginity in front of a gallery -- sort of. Let us know your thoughts on the provocative projects in the comments and learn more about Badasyan's previous -- and also quite racy -- work on his website. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/performance-artist-to-have-sex-with.html |
A funny scenario played out at what looked like illegal road block mounted by some mobile policemen around the Umunede new Road junction on the Asaba-Benin Expressway at the weekend as one of the policemen, believed to have hailed from the North, ran and shouted for help after mistaking Eboka for Ebola. Those who saw the policeman running at the state of confusion also took to their heels, while those trapped in their vehicles that could not immediately run for their dare lives watched hopelessly for the worst to come. It was gathered that the mobile policeman had demanded to check the particularly of a privately owned car and shouted at the owner of the car to bring out his cars particulars, almost treating him like a suspect. With the threatening look on the face of the policeman and the gun he was clutching, the car owner was said to have told him Eboka, causing him to take off at a frightening speed and shouting for help. Soon, other vehicles behind and his colleagues were also said to have run away as well, until they were told that the man’s name was Eboka, not Ebola After being told that Eboka (which means Family Is Supreme in Ika language) was different from the Ebola virus by those who rushed to catch a glimpse of the unfolding drama, the fleeing police man returned. Africa's richest man Aliko Dangote has donated N150million to help in the fight of the spread of the Ebola virus in Nigeria. The Chief Executive Officer of the Dangote Foundation, Mrs Adhiambo Odaga announced this at a media briefing at the Ministry of Health, Abuja on Monday. She said the money will be available for the establishment of an Ebola emergency operation centre in Lagos. “After bilateral discussion with the honourable minister and his team, Dangote foundation has funded the establishment of the Ebola emergency operation in Lagos, that is being done through grant from the foundation of just a little over N150 million,” she said. Continue... "The strategy that our chairman is deploying is the strategy to respond and to commend government for the effort, and to show that all Nigerians are concerned. We will continue to discuss with the ministry about what additional support can be offered. “And we also have been approached by several parties who are interested in partnering with the government, and we would continue that discussion.” Odaga relayed Dangote’s call to all Nigerians to join the federal government in the fight against Ebola, expressing optimism that the disease would be contained. “The choice of the emergency operation centre as an investment for Dangote Foundation is based on the fact that is the critical platform through which the government is coordinating all that is happening to ensure that the crisis is contained,” she added. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/africa-richest-man-aliko-dangote.html |
Jamie Smith, 23, has been jailed for seven years after plotting to have his mistress attacked so she would lose their unborn childSteven Blades, 23 (right), was jailed for a year after agreeing to carry out the assault A man who paid to have his pregnant mistress beaten up to get rid of their unborn child has today been jailed for seven years. Jamie Smith, 23, conspired with two friends to get rid of the child after learning Jessica Santos, 18, had become pregnant during their affair. Smith planned to lure Miss Santos to a park in Peterborough, Cambs, on the pretence of discussing the pregnancy, where Steven Blades and a third man would attack her with a knife and crowbar. Smith, who was in a relationship with another girl, wanted to make the attack look like a robbery and also intended to be injured. The knife would be used to threaten him and Miss Santos before both were assaulted. But his twisted plot was foiled when the third man refused to get involved and alerted police. Smith and Blades were arrested on February 21, the day the attack was set to take place. Smith, of Peterborough, was charged with conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm but tried to claim others had hatched the plan. Smith got Jessica Santos, 18, pregnant while both of them were in other relationships. After she refused to abort the baby, he began planning the assault +8 Miss Santos met Smith on Facebook where the pair started talking, before the first met shortly before Christmas last year However he was unanimously convicted after a five-day trial at Peterborough Crown Court and jailed for seven years. Blades, of Peterborough, admitted the same charge and was jailed for 12 months. Both men were both given a 10 year restraining order against the victim by Judge Sean Enright. Outside court Miss Santos - who is now eight months pregnant - said: 'Part of me wants to believe that he was put up to this by someone, but deep down I know that is not the case. 'It hurts a lot to know that someone I felt so close to could plan this behind my back, yet so still be so nice to my face. It's just evil. 'Nobody has the right to say whether someone, especially a baby, should live or die. 'If Jamie did not want to get involved with the baby he didn't have to and he knew this. This makes what he arranged even harder to understand. 'When my child is old enough I will tell them about this and let them decide if they want a relationship with Jamie - until then I will do everything I need to do to protect my child.' After the case Detective Constable Vicky Speirs said: 'This was a sickening and extremely dangerous plot to cause a young woman to lose her unborn child. 'It is incomprehensible how anyone would want to carry out such a hurtful and violent act. 'It was an incredibly selfish act by Smith who gave no thought as to what effect his actions could potentially have on the victim. 'Given the level of violence they were prepared to use, we could quite easily have been dealing with a murder. 'Thankfully, one of those men recruited by Smith to carry out his dirty work saw sense and contacted the police so we could intervene and prevent such a serious incident taking place.' Smith met victim Jessica Santos at an after school disco in 2011 and they began messaging on Facebook. The pair met up shortly before Christmas 2013 despite both being in relationships with other people. Smith, 23, got the 18 year-old pregnant on the only occasion they had sex, in his black Toyota. Smith then demanded his lover terminate their unborn child but after she refused he vowed to have no contact with his baby. Smith then planned the attack - even visiting the secluded park in Peterborough, Cambs.,where the assault was due to take place. He paid two men to attack both he and Miss Santos with a crowbar and a knife which he hoped would end her pregnancy. Michael Proctor, prosecuting, said: 'Smith made it clear he didn't want anything to do with the child and didn't want his name to appear on the birth certificate. 'In fact at that time he made it clear he wanted her to terminate the pregnancy. He effectively came up with a plan for Jessica Santos to lose her unborn child. 'The plan was for him and Jessica to be out walking by a rowing lake and then to be attacked by two men armed with a wheel brace and knife. 'Jessica was to be grabbed, held down and the wheel brace used to cause injuries to cause her to miscarry.' But the plot was foiled when the third man contacted police and Blades tried to pull out of the sick conspiracy. Sentencing Smith, Judge Enright said: 'You have no previous convictions and are of good character but that is a sham. 'The victim impact statement shows the very great distress you have caused to this girl. 'A weapon would have been used and it did not take place through any effort of yours to stop it.' Also jailing father-of-two Blades, 23, Judge Enright said he would reduce his sentence in light of his early guilty plea and the fact he tried to pull out of the attack at the last moment. He also said Blades would receive a reduction after being physically assaulted in prison as a result of standing as a prosecution witness. Jude Enright also said that Blades was 'not of a earthy state of mind' at the time of the incident. Jenni Dempster, mitigating for Blades, revealed he was suicidal at the time of the incident after the breakup of his engagement to Charlotte Desmond, 21. She said: 'Blades realised to embark on this entire was nothing short of terrible. He was at a point in his life where he was significantly depressed. He was at a place where he felt there was no reason to carry on with his life.' Neil Corries, mitigating for Smith, said victim Miss Santos has a 'bigger reason not to trust anyone again' after being attacked. He said: 'She describes the affect on her emotional state as getting angry easily and bursting into tears. 'She said when her child is old enough to understand he will have to tell them about this and let them decide whether they want a relationship with their father.' Mr Corries said Smith was of previous good character and that his actions had caused great distress to his family. He added: 'Jamie Smith has caused distress to his family as well and this is one of the many consequences of his offending. 'For them it is so out of character that they find it difficult to imagine how he got into this position. 'He understands he has got to be positive about this sentence that he is going to serve.' Victim Jessica, 18, whose family are from Portugal, has opted not to find out the sex of her baby until it is born. Michael Proctor, prosecuting, said the plan was for Miss Santos to be held down and for her to be beaten with a crowbar 'to cause injuries to cause her to miscarry'Smith planned to coax Miss Santos to a remote park in Peterborough, Cambs, where they would both be attacked with a crowbar and a knife so as not to arouse suspicion sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/father-planned-with-thugs-to-kill-his.html

Ms Corless, 52, (left) and daughter Sophie, 19, (right) are furious that St Mary's Brownedge Church in Bamber Bridge, Lancashire, has ordered them to remove the headstone they erected to commemorate Mike Howsey, Ms Corless' partner and Miss Howsey's father A grieving woman has been ordered by a church to remove the headstone from her partner's grave - because it has kisses on it. Janet Corless, 52, was devastated when her partner of 30 years Mike Howsey died in January this year, aged 49. He died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep vein thrombosis. To commemorate her partner, she spent £2,000 on a loving tribute with an inscription containing two small kisses on the headstone and one on the base, as well as the phrase 'sleep tight Dad'. The headstone was erected on May 2. Ms Corless said she was 'absolutely heartbroken' by the decision by the church to remove the headstone, which she had erected on May 2 to commemorate her partner, Mike Howsey, who died in January this year But Ms Corless and daughter Sophie, 19, have had to remove the stone after the Roman Catholic church told them the inscription was 'inappropriate'. Ms Corless, a primary school supervisor from Walton-le-Dale in Lancashire, was disgusted by the decision, especially as she said other headstones in the churchyard had similar phrases and kisses. She said: 'The priest took exception to the little kisses and the phrase "sleep tight Dad". 'I can't believe it. It's so callous and I'm absolutely heartbroken. 'It's only seven months since Mike died suddenly right in front of Sophie and me and it is still very raw. 'The headstone we chose was beautiful and we were delighted with it when it was put on the grave. Mike Howsey (pictured) died in January this year. His partner, Janet Corless, spent £2,000 on a tribute but has been ordered to remove the headstone because it was deemed 'inappropriate' 'But when they told us the inscription was inappropriate and would have to go it was a complete bombshell. 'I had a meeting with the priest and pleaded with him to allow it but he seemed totally unsympathetic. 'He said the kisses weren't acceptable on the headstone and neither was the phrase on the base. 'I couldn't believe it and I just stormed out. I was hysterical.' She added: 'Mike meant the world to us. It's hard enough coping with our loss without having something like this making it worse. 'Why can't they show some compassion?' Ms Corless said her partner died suddenly after he became ill last Christmas. 'Mike became really poorly the week after Christmas. He nearly passed out when walking upstairs and so he went to the doctors. 'They thought he was badly anaemic and needed a blood transfusion so he had that on New Year's Day. 'He was sent home and a few days later he collapsed and died. It's been an incredibly difficult time for us and me and my daughter worked hard to get the money together so we could get a special headstone. 'We don't have another £2,000 to spend on another one but Cocker Memorials, who supplied the headstone, have been very kind to us and so hopefully we won't have to." Ms Corless, a primary school supervisor from Walton-le-Dale in Lancashire, was disgusted by the decision by St Mary's Brownedge Church in Bamber Bridge, Lancashire, to remove the headstone Cocker Memorials, who are based in Preston, insisted the inscription was authorised before it was erected at St Mary's Brownedge Church in Bamber Bridge, Lancashire. Company director Michelle Howe, said she had received verbal approval from the church before the stone was erected. 'Sometimes we get written confirmation and sometimes it's done with a phone call. 'This was over the phone. 'We wouldn't have gone ahead and made the headstone if we didn't have approval. 'But it now looks like we will have to make an entirely new one because covering up the letters won't look right.' Miss Howsey, the daughter of Ms Corless and Mr Howsey, added: 'The priest said we could have "sleep tight Dad", but on a separate piece of stone - not on the headstone. 'So, really, it's just down to those little kisses. 'I've been round the churchyard and there are other headstones with kisses on. 'It seems ridiculous.' A local parishioner at St Mary's Brownedge Church said: 'The priest is straight down the line. 'Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with it but he's a bit old school.' Father George Corrie at St Mary's said: 'We extend our deepest sympathies to Ms Corless at this difficult time and will be working closely with the stonemason to make sure her partner's headstone is erected correctly as soon as possible.' A spokesman for the Diocese of Salford, which includes Bamber Bridge, was unavailable for comment. 46 year old Alexander Ilesanmi (pictured above), an indigene of Akure, Ondo state has been arrested by the Lagos State Police command for parading himself as an Assistant Commissioner of Police and receiving stolen vehicles from robbery suspects. According to police reports, Illesanmi, who goes about dressing in police uniform with the rank of a Deputy police commissioner displayed on his shirt, was arrested after an apprehended notorious car snatcher and supposed pastor of a church, Gabriel Asaolu, identified him to be one of those who bought stolen cars from him. Investigations by the police revealed that Ilesanmi had bought two stolen cars, a Mitsubishi Montero and a Toyota Avalon from the suspect before he was arrested. The insignia of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), two photographs of the himself in DSP and ACP uniforms as well as an unregistered SUV believed to have been sold to him by another suspect was discovered at his home. When interrogated, Ilesanmi said he got the DSP and ACP insignia from a friend, whom he identified simply as Segun. He said he used the police uniforms to help in clearing vehicles which he deals in “I used to deal in cars. I usually travel to the Benin Republic to get vehicles. I would hang the ACP uniform on the backseat of my vehicle so that customs officials would not disturb me. With this trick, I smuggled in about six cars between 2011 and 2014. At checkpoints, the police and other security agencies would simply salute me, and let my vehicle go. I did not usually pay duties at the entry point. I sold the vehicles for prices ranging from N1.1m to N1.5m. I got the DSP and ACP uniforms from a friend named Segun. Till now, I don’t know where he got them from.” When asked how he met Asaolu, Ilesanmi replied, “I knew Gabriel (Asaolu) as a pastor in a church at the Oke Aro area in Ogun State. He told me he was also a car dealer, and that he could supply vehicles to me at cheaper prices. I had gone to the church for a revival. He also said he was an Ondo State indigene. Later, we went into car-selling deals. I never knew he was an armed robbery suspect. In August 2011, he called me that he wanted to sell some cars, but he sold only the Toyota Avalon to me. I bought it from him for N750,000. I was using the car. I did not sell it. Apart from smuggling, I also used the police uniform to attract consultancy jobs from companies in Lagos which sent their officials to me for training. I trained some security guards for many companies. I regret being a fake policeman, but it is just unfortunate.” he said sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/police-arrest-fake-assistant.html |
Police-arrest Police have arrested a 20-year-old man, Chukwuma (surname withheld), who allegedly specialised in killing women and having sex with their dead bodies in Ebonyi State. SUN reports that the suspect allegedly killed three women along farm pathways in the area and had sex with them. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Chris Anyanwu, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect was arrested after the police set him up with a girl along a farm pathway and he came out to strangle the girl to death. Anyanwu said the suspect, who is a painter, confessed to the crime and said he did it because his people refused to stop calling him a nickname he (suspect) hated. The PRO said the suspect after killing the last woman stole her N8,500 and used it to buy handset and drink local gin. The PPRO said: “We nabbed him after placing surveillance at a particular farm, where he usually waylays women who are going to farm or coming back from farm. We got the information that he had killed three women in the same way. He has the habit of waylaying the women on lonely bush path. Whenever a woman passes through the place he pounces on her and strangles her to death and has sex with the dead body. “One of these women’s name is Anyigor from the same village. On July 15, she went to farm at a place called Okwulike but never returned. Then, when he was later arrested, he (the suspect) confessed that he was hanging around that farm area when he saw the woman who is late now, and pounced on her, strangled her to death by grabbing her neck region until she gave up before he had sex with the dead woman and robbed her of N8,500, which he found on her. “The suspect said he used the money to buy Nokia handset phone and used the remaining money to drink local gin called ‘kaikai’. “The second incident happened a week after, on July 23, the victim is Mrs. Helen, a 54-year-old woman, who went to Egiagu village to farm and never returned. “So, alarmed by her non-return, her son alerted the villagers and a search party later found her dead body along the lonely farm path. When Chukwuma was arrested, he confessed that he strangled the woman the same way he strangled the other two women. When interrogated, the suspect said his annoyance was that people from that community called him a nickname ‘Sogbodo’, adding that he had warned people to desist from calling him the name but they continued.” sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/police-arrest-man-for-having-sex-with.html |

President Jonathan as condemned Patrick Sawyer for coming to Nigerian despite the fact that health practitioners in his country warned him to stay back. The president made this statement at the annual Interfaith Conference in Abuja today. “As a government, we promise that we will do everything humanly possible to contain the Ebola virus’’. “On Wednesday, I will meet with governor of the states, and they must come with their commissioners of Health along. We must make sure that every state is prepared, where they lack, the federal government will support them.” Continue below. “My conversation with the WHO DG, Dr Margaret Chan was revealing, she said 60 per cent of the transmission was spread during burials. That is why in my announcement, I’ve been saying that people should be careful aboutburials.” “Some people like burial ceremonies. This is not the time for burial ceremony, somebody is dead, he is dead, leave him there. This is not the best time for those ceremonies.” “If he is dead, he is already dead, Sawyer that brought this Ebola to Nigeria; his sister died of Ebola. And he started acting somehow, his country asked him not to leave the country, let them observe him, but the crazy man decided to leave and found his way here.” sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/ebola-patrick-sawyers-action-is-crazy.html |
UNDERSTAND THIS, YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHY NYAKO WAS IMPEACHED: In Washington DC, Governor Murtala Nyako made some interesting revelations about the insurgency in the North-East.......Enjoy Vice Admiral Murtala H. Nyako's contribution at the 3-Day Symposium on Current Economic, Social and Security Challenges Facing Northern Nigeria, in Washington DC, USA Organised by US Institute of Peace - March 17-19, 2014 First, I should like to sincerely thank the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in support and collaboration with the Governments of Norway and Denmark for hosting this 3-Day Symposium on current economic, social and Security challenges in Northern Nigeria. I should also like to believe that this is being done because of the realisation that Northern Nigeria is facing daunting challenges in these sectors and you have resolved to help the region out of its difficulties. The region lies in the Sahel belt of West Africa and is inhabited by a large number of tribal/ethnic groups, the biggest being the Fulani, Hausa, Kanuri, Yoruba and Tiv who have demographic linkages far beyond the region. It became a British protectorate in the Year 1900 and had since remained virtually peaceful until the early 1990s when signs of rapid deterioration of the social and economic life of the people in the region began to manifest. We could now all see the squalor around us – the growing number of young people out of school and without skills; the increasing number of the poor and hungry people around us, the increasing number of the unemployable and the un-employed among the youths and even grown-ups and other negative indicators too many to be mentioned here; all of it very scary stuff. It is, therefore, no wonder that there is presently heightened insecurity not only in Northern Nigeria, but the whole country. Today, the level of armed robbery in the South-West of the country is such that most Banks do not observe regular hours of doing business; it is piracy and lawlessness on continual and massive scale by delinquent militants in the South-South; it is kidnapping for ransom at an alarming degree in the South-East of the country; and of course there is the series of atrocities by the so-called Boko Haram in Northern Nigeria. It is lawlessness all over the place. Boko Haram: The initial assumption was that Boko Haram was religiously motivated. Nobody now associates the group with any religion; their targets have largely been within the Muslim communities. What, therefore, are the motivating factors of the so-called Boko Haram? We must answer this question correctly to enable us determine what type of war we are fighting. The Boko Haram itself has not helped matters since it has never come out by its actions to define what type of war it is fighting; it has bombed facilities of the United Nations and those of all and sundry; it has destroyed churches and mosques and targeted and killed a large number of Muslims and Christians irrespective of the ethnicity of their victims. It is therefore most unfortunate that inspite of professional advice to the Presidency including two Memos submitted by my humble self (hereby attached) it does not seem to know what it is facing and the type of war it should be fighting; is it a war against terrorists, insurgents or as people are coming to believe a nurtured war against the people in Northern Nigeria? In short, is the massive killing of people and destruction of property and the environment state-sponsored? Let’s face it ! Neither the Federal Government, nor the Nigerian Military has ever linked those few persons paraded as Boko Haram suspects with any of their strategic commanders or sponsors ! The locations of Boko Haram camps such as those at Sambisa Game Reserve which are said to be well established and stocked are known by all traditional Defence and Security units in the North-East, but we hear about them from the authority only on selective basis! We now notice a new trend; the random destruction of life and property in the style of Boko Haram in the North-East and the illegal carting away of herdsmen’s cattle now take place in all the States of Northern Nigeria and is being adjudged by the public as deliberately aimed at bringing conflict amongst the ethnic groups and between Muslims and Christians of the region. Sponsors of Mass Killings and Destruction of Property Let me request this gathering to note that the arms, ammunition and explosives being used by so-called Boko Haram are not manufactured in Nigeria. Somebody must have brought them from abroad to the scenes of attacks. With military check-points mounted everywhere in far greater numbers than we had during our civil war and with only the President, the Vice President and their key staff and Governors of the States on one hand and the Nigerian Military on the other who pass these points unchecked, we could safely assume that it is one of the two groups who conveys these weapons up country from the Port(s) after Custom and Security clearance. The security situation we are therefore facing in Northern Nigeria today could be sponsored, financed and supported by evil minded and over-ambitious leaders of Government and the society for political gains. There is simply no person(s) in the North-Eastern zone rich enough to foot the financial and logistic bills on Boko Haram activities. Somebody outside the zone must have bought these arms, ammunitions and explosives somewhere which is easily traceable, paid the freight charges to Nigeria, cleared them at the Ports, conveyed them up-country through numerous check-points and put them in safe-houses in the States ready to be used by the appointed killers. Also, somebody must have deliberately substantially increased illegal drug traffic in the North. Today a youth in the village might not see drug against his headache, but there would be all sorts of illegal and dangerous drugs available for him to purchase! Who are the barons behind all this? Identification of the Strategic Commanders of the Illicit So-Called Boko Haram Operations: But most importantly, who are the Strategic Commanders of these illicit and murderous operations against innocent citizenry including women and children? It is now clear to all and sundry that there is an unhindered coordination between the activities of Boko Haram cells and some strategic commanders sitting in some high offices in our national Defence system. How else could there be such timely actions regarding the immediate withdrawal of the Military near vital positions such as schools and colleges with the immediate arrival of Boko Haram squad of murderers. Not only are these withdrawals of the Military and the attacks of Boko Haram timely, it is noticed that such attacks would last for hours without counter response by the Military even if they are located at a hearing distance. We have had cases where a fleet of Airforce aircraft was being burnt by Boko Haram near a unit of the Military, yet the latter did not respond. We have had a case when a retired General and a civil-war hero was being shot to death by allegedly Boko Haram attackers in front of soldiers detailed to protect the area, yet there was no response from them. There are numerous other revelations which time would not allow me to narrate. I should however add that virtually all the regular Military units in the area are poorly equipped; they have arms without ammunitions and are poorly fed and quartered inspite of the trillions of Naira said to be spent on them by Abuja. In contrast members of the Abuja-nurtured Task Force being deployed in the areas are better equipped and cared for perhaps to guarantee that they rain enough havoc on the communities whose domains they are deployed. Clearly these Strategic commanders are waging a war of Terror (‘making’ a statement to influence an outcome) as well as adopting Insurgency tactics of using terror to achieve a political end against Northern Nigeria. Boko Haram is therefore being viewed as a tool by some evil-minded conspirators to kill key Traditional and political leaders of Northern Nigeria and to cause the disintegration of Nigeria. The people in the North have also begun to suspect that the Objective of all this is to create enough mayhem for an excuse to deny them their democratic right of Vote by cancelling the forthcoming General Elections in the region and also reduce the Voting power of the people there now and in the future through mass killings of its populace especially its youths. Who give the ‘Orders-to-Kill’ the Innocent The real big question in all this is who have been giving the ‘Orders to Kill’ the victims of all the Boko Haram atrocities and those who have been targeted but saved by the Almighty God? There have been attempted assassinations of a number of States’ Governors including my good-self and the Governor of Benue State; a number of top Traditional Leaders of the North including the Shehu of Borno and the Emir of Kano, our Senators and top Business people have also been attacked in broad daylight and escaped death by the skin of their teeth ! Who had given the executive ‘Orders’ to kill us? Is Northern Nigeria facing another demonic Agenda similar to that which wiped away its Political and Military Leaders and killed a number from the Western Region in January, 1966? The Presidency should give us answers to all the foregoing serious questions and we do not want insults by aides in response or harassment by detailed Security operatives ! We want the ANSWERS; Nigeria also wants the ANSWERS; the international community too should want the ANSWERS. Let me briefly touch on a few other factors that induce and promote Insecurity in Northern Nigeria and indeed Nigeria namely Corruption and Mismanagement of public affairs nourished by impunity and lawlessness on the part of senior leaders in Government and the ruling political Party as revealed in President Obasanjo’s letters/write-ups and the observations by the outgoing Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria on missing billions of dollars of public funds. The responses of those who should clear the air show how far they could go to falsify record. Their impunity and lawlessness have become legendry ! They think they could cajole us to believe that 16 is greater than 19 and 5 is greater than 27. Their emasculation of the Judicial system is also unprecedented. In the security situation we now find ourselves we in the North are already not free from danger, injury or death emanating from executive ‘Orders’ of the evil-few in Abuja; the wise amongst us now ‘sleep with one eye open’, the wisest do so ‘with both eyes widely open’! How could we trust those that we suspect are behind all this? Who can now trust and do business with these leaders? No wonder the international community and those that could be our business partners are staying away from Northern Nigeria and the rest of the country. My State’s U.S. technical partners who are to upgrade Kiri irrigation dam in my State (Adamawa) to Hydro-power-generation facility on Built-Operate-and-Transfer (B.O.T.) basis had to abandon the site when an unwarranted 'State of Emergency' was lumped on the State by Abuja. The case of Okomu LNG project speaks volumes on this ! On the political front, we in the North had stuck out our necks to support their political ambition, but they have now turned round and are attempting to burn us alive. No decent man should do business with this lot ! Lawlessness galore ! Distinguished organisers of this timely Symposium, whilst once more thanking you for it, it is clear from the foregoing that Northern Nigeria and indeed Nigeria need your understanding and support. Thank you and God bless! sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/bombshell-nyakos-revelations-on-boko.html |
There was supposed to be a wedding at one of the churches in Ekwuluobia Anambra this weekend. Instead, a funeral was arranged. The 38-year-old groom, Mr. Nze- kwe Chukwuemeka Barthlomew, died just hours before his wedding vows to his bride groom on Saturday. The late Bartholomew, a vulcanizer, died in an accident on his way to Church for his wedding ceremony in Ekwuluobia Anambra, yesterday. According to reports, he was being conveyed on a high capacity motorcycle around 9:30am by his Best Man, from their home to the church in Ekwuluobia where the bride was already waiting for him. Tragedy struck when the two friends ran into a stationary Camry car and the driver of the car suddenly opened the door oblivious of the motorcycle coming behind reportedly on a high speed. Although, his Best Man sustained minor injuries, the groom was hit hard by the door – he landed on the tarred road hitting his head against the hard surface and died on the spot. His corpse has since been deposited at a morgue while the Best Man was rushed to a hospital for treatment. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/wedding-day-tragedy-bridegroom-dies-on.html |
A few people online are criticizing President Jonathan for allowing himself to be placed at the back row of this pic taken at the recently concluded US-Africa summit in D.C. Her husband is dead. She is jobless. She is saddled with five hungry mouths to feed. The burden of the next house rent lies solely on her head, no companion, no friend. She is being scorned by not a few but also pitied by many others. This is the life of a typical Nigerian widow. You see her; the picture she paints is of a helpless woman who is more worried about financial incapability. Ask 10 widows and nine out of them would tell you their major problem is money. But no, that is not the major predicament, it goes beyond that. Above all the challenges and concerns, a widow is first of all, a woman who has needs - séxual needs. How does she cope when that urge, that craving and that feeling of wanting to have a man satisfy her séxual needs, comes up? How does she quench her séxual desire? As you watch her cry at the graveside of the husband, wanting to fall into the grave with the casket, it is not only because she has lost a helpmate. She cries most importantly because she has lost a friend, a companion and of course, a lover - a séx mate... Saturday Punchmet with some widows who narrated their ordeal since their husbands passed on. The perception that a widow doesn’t and shouldn’t have a séxual need lies in the minds of the ignorant. The urge is there, stronger, deeper and certainly more intense. “I am not too old, somebody should be around me. The urge to have séx comes on once in a while, it is the grace of God that keeps me going all this while,” says 53 year-old school teacher, Getrude Oyetayo. “Personally, I came to realise that my profession of being a teacher has helped me a lot. I am disciplined. I try to make sure I am myself. I respect myself and forge ahead. I don’t dwell along that line. If I put my interest there, I will lose focus. Peradventure it comes again; I only ask God what He thinks I should do. God has always been there. God will ask me if He is not sufficient for me. If I have any séxual feelings, I engage myself in the house of God. It has helped me not to think of it. “When I feel the urge, I run to the church. The first few years I lost my husband, I would always go to the church to sweep it. I will listen to the radio. At times, my kids would not be around, they would go back to school. I don’t even have a maid. But I will manage,” she explained. Oyetayo had to battle with the issue of loneliness since her husband, Williams, passed on five years ago. “As a human being, the loneliness comes up. It is terrible. If you are not careful, you will lose focus. Loneliness is something a widow battles with. You look right, you don’t see anybody and you look left, you don’t see anybody. You are just on your own. My company is my transistor radio. If I am not singing praises, I will listen to radio or watch TV. Before you know it, it would be night and I would sleep off and wake up the next morning,” she says. Five years down, Oyetayo says she is still not used to the fact that she is a widow, saying she would not wish the condition for her worst enemy. “I was traumatised for a long time. I went through a lot of psychological and emotional pain. But God has been there. It is His grace that has been sustaining me. Being a widow is something you will not wish your worst enemy. I thank God anyway.” Thirty-year-old shares her experience Oyetayo’s story is not different from that of 30-year-old Ibienne Ekile (not real names), a Rivers State banker based in Lagos. Ekile, whose husband died in 2010, three years after the marriage, said the séxual urge is still as fresh as it was when she met her husband. “In my own case, I wasn’t devastated because I wouldn’t be able to take care of my home and our son. Thank God I have a good job. But I realised that I would not be able to make love to my husband any longer. Our séx life was very healthy when we were together. I just didn’t know how I was going to manage. I doubt if there is any widow that would say she doesn’t crave for séx. “I managed to live a life of chastity for three years. I am a human being and I am young. I had to get into a relationship so that I don’t jump from one bed to another. My husband’s death was painful. He died in a motor accident and it has not been easy. For a woman to stay and have nobody to ‘lubricate’ her is not easy at all. I will not lie and tell you that I have not slept with any man since my husband died.” ‘I sewed up my vag-ina’ But a female catechist of a Catholic Church in Lagos, Mrs. Maria-Rose Aganbi, claimed she has not slépt with a man since her husband died 21 years ago and might never in her lifetime. “My husband died when I was 30 years old and after five years in marriage. It was terrible! I had my five children in those five years. Things were not so good. But I made a vow to God that He would be my husband. “I will not say the passion was not there. However, I killed it with prayer. If I had slept around or had affairs, I wouldn’t have been able to train my son who eventually became a priest. I sewed up my vag-ina. I can beat my hand on my chest and say that I have never slépt with any man since my husband died. However, when the urge comes, I go to the sanctuary of God and I pray and pray,” she said. “The urge still comes on so strong even at this age. But I have made a vow to God and I intend to keep it no matter what. I don’t masturbaté, I don’t even have immoral thoughts and I don’t play with séx toys. However, I switch off and occupy my mind with other thoughts,” she said. Aganbi would not likely forget in a hurry what she went through to train her kids. “Things were so hard. I used to hawk Aloe Vera in Lagos Island. I soaked garri in water and allowed it to rise before I gave it to my children. I used to hawk rice and so many other things. We were living in a thatched house. The life of a widow is certainly not a bed of roses,” she said. But Mrs. Sandra Maduneme, a clothier based in Egbeda area of Lagos, said she didn’t find it difficult to adapt to the loss of her husband in terms of séxual needs because she has a low libido. “Naturally, sex has not been ‘food’ for me. I may not be frigid but I can do without séx. So, when my husband died, sex really never came to my mind. In that aspect, I have been able to cope very well. My husband was not always around even when he was alive. He was based abroad but he trusted me so much because he knew I was not too keen about séx. “But few times when I even thought of it in the middle of the night, I would just call Jesus and I will sleep off again. If I get the urge early in the morning, before I know it, my kids would enter my bedroom and I would play with them and prepare them for the day,” she said. Advances from men on the increase One common experience among the widows, as they told our correspondent, was the rise of advances from the men. Virtually all the widows our correspondent spoke with said men demand to sleep with them mostly before they could assist them in any area. Oyetayo said the first person to make séxual advances at her was her late husband’s best friend. “He was my husband’s best man during our wedding. Just one month after my husband died, he came to me and asked me how I would be able to pay the rent and my two children’s school fees. Before I could even answer him, he said he was available and he would give me anything I wanted as long as I slépt with him. “Apart from him, I have had several other advances from men even till tomorrow. But I know myself, I don’t intend to mess up and I will always be focused,” she said. But Aganbi recalled that she actually went out with some of the men simply because she needed to eat and get extra food for her children. “I remember a man that met me one day that I was crying. He asked me what was wrong with me and I told him I needed N800 for my kids’ food and transportation to school the following day. He gave me the money but also suggested I follow him to a hotel because he wanted to “take me out.” “While at the restaurant, he ordered for chicken and rice. I devoured my rice and even asked for more. They brought it and the man went to the reception to ‘arrange’ for room. I quickly told him I was going to urinate and I took off with the rice. That was what my children ate that night,” she said. From a psychiatrist perceptive A psychiatrist, Dr. Adeoye Oyewole, attributed a number of issues such as religious, economic and cultural as factors that might stop a widow from having a strong séxual drive. “A widow has a psychological sense of loss. There is the challenge of bringing up the children. There are challenges with the in-laws who want to chase her out of the house. There is also the religious challenge. The widow is expected to be holy and be focused and be satisfied with her life and not desire séx which is carnal because she is expected to ‘need’ God more than any other person. “There is also the expectation of the society. A good number of widows don’t want to be seen in the hotel. They wouldn’t want to be seen in another man’s car. A widow would feel if somebody sees her with another man, the person might feel she was the one that killed her husband because of that man.” Oyewole said that most men primarily want to sleép with widows and perhaps, take advantage of them. sourcehttp://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/young-widows-open-up-on-their-life-and.html#more |
During Pastor Enoch Adeboye's sermon on Thursday night at the ongoing 62nd annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adeboye narrated that a high profile woman who was an executive of the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, did everything to seduce him. According to him, the woman came to him and announced to him that God had told her that he would be her husband, and immediately he rebuked her, saying “you know that I am happily married and have children.” That didn’t deter the woman who continued to pester him, and even came to the camp to threaten him, saying “if you stand on my way to marrying this man, I will kill you.” Pastor Adeboye took the matter to then Inspector General of Police who immediately invited the woman and her husband to his office and after a meeting banned the randy woman from entering the Redemption Camp or ever making passes at the man of God. “But that measure didn’t stop her. I travelled to London without telling anybody, to work on the church’s devotional, Open Heaven. As soon as I settled down in the room, the telephone rang and the voice at the other end said: “welcome to London. I am coming in 15 minutes, The cleric continued, wondering why his audience responded with a laughter.Continuing, he said he told the voice: “You don’t know anything, you know that the Police in London are very efficient and if you dare come here, I will call the Police for you.” There is a Police station a few meters from where I am staying and she must have known that because she didn’t come but kept calling me.“I cried to God Who told me ‘You know of the scripture that says, whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven.’ Believe me honestly, unless God helps, there are things you cannot handle on your own, He stated, urging the large crowd to stand and pray with holy anger: “Anyone hindering my progress, before this month is over, Holy Spirit send down Your fire to consume them”. http://www.pakorumo.com/2014/08/how-married-woman-almost-seduced-me.html
