Jobs/Vacancies / HOW COVID-19 AFFECTED YOUR JOB OR BUSSINESS ? by bokunrawo(m): 11:20am On Sep 30, 2020
Morning Folks , just ruminating on diverse happenings that was embedded in the year 2020, major among them is the COVID-19 pandemic . This deadly virus re-aligned the normal running of the world order especially the world economy : many jobs were lost, businesses were shut down, etc.

On my own end , the company i work with did not lay anyone off and they made full payment of our salaries through out the lockdown ( we worked from home) although 5% of our salary was slashed for a period of three month ,however our salary has been returned to its original state .

This may not be the case for other folks , many people lost their Jobs ,had ridiculous salary deduction, closure of businesses ,etc,. This thread is to basically know how COVID-19 affected your Job and Business and also create an avenue of interconnectivity where people can support each other with information's, connections or ideas that will help a to stimulate a speedy recover from the brutal consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Romance / 10 Bizarre Cases Of Addiction You Won’t Believe by bokunrawo(m): 3:57pm On Mar 10, 2020
1. SHOWER DRAIN MINING

Although that’s not the official name for this addiction, we seriously doubt that there is one, so we thought “drain mining” was as good as any. This addiction comes with a bit of an “ewwww” factor for sure. You might wonder what one would mine for in a drain. Well, one particular fellow in Seattle, Washington loves pulling hair out of drains – not just any drains, they have to be shower drains. Yeah, we told you it was gross. Like many people who are addicted, the 28-year-old says it helps relieve his anxiety when he pulls hair from drains. There’s no way to be sure, but it’s a good bet that he’s one of a very small number of people in the world that are forced to deal with this kind of addiction.

2. BLOOD DRINKING

Speaking of gross, here’s another one for you. A 45-year-old woman in Pennsylvania has been drinking blood for more than 30 years! Making matters worse, it’s human blood she likes to drink, and she drinks about a liter of blood per day. Fortunately for her, she has some very accommodating friends, one of whom lets her drink right from her arm. Since draining that much blood from someone every day could be problematic, she does chase the human blood with some pig plasma.

3. ICE CHEWING
Surprisingly, this one actually does have an official name, and it’s pagophagia. Another surprise was learning that roughly 2 percent of males who are 18 years old or older have to deal with this addiction and about 16 percent of females between age 16 and 19 do also. Those figures are for the United States, but numbers are probably similar in other western countries. These types of addictions fall under a class of addictions known as pica – addictions that make people want to eat various substances that are not normally considered food. More on that later.

4. TANNING

There’s nothing particularly unusual about seeing someone sunbathing on a beach or by the pool on a warm summer day, but climbing into a tanning bed twice a day definitely crosses the line into addiction territory. A 24-year-old New Jersey woman began her compulsive tanning after she received a session in a tanning salon as a birthday present when she was just 14 years old. Excessive tanning can cause skin problems such as premature aging and even cancer, so we suspect the person who decided to give her that birthday present may have regretted it since that fateful day.

5. GLASS EATING

Alright, we didn’t even know this was possible without involving a visit to the emergency room or maybe even death from internal bleeding. A 27-year-old man in Wooster, Ohio is actually addicted to eating glass! For obvious reasons, he prefers thin glass like the type used to make light bulbs or champagne glasses. He admits to having cut his lips many times (who knew!) and has had shards of glass embedded in his gums. We can only imagine where else he might have glass embedded!.

6. FUNERAL GROUPIE

Yep, it’s pretty much what it sounds like. A man in Brazil attends every funeral he can possibly get to. The 42-year-old man begins his day by turning on the radio to see if there are any announcements for funerals in his area. Having attended every funeral in his home town in the last 20 years and quit his job in order to pursue his passion, he’s obviously quite serious about paying his last respects. When asked about the man’s strange addiction, a local funeral director indicated that he had no desire to see the man get treatment for his odd addiction because everyone expects to see him at all the local funerals.

7. SAUSAGE EATING

A gentleman in Greenwich, South East London says he cannot bear the idea of living with out sausages. And yes, he’s quite serious about it. Consuming up to 15 sausages per day, he spends some £700 (about $1200) a year to literally feed his addiction. He’s even tried to kick the habit and spent approximately £2,000 (about $3300) trying to overcome his addiction without success. He compares his addiction to being addicted to drugs or alcohol with the only difference being that his addiction is sausages. They may not be the best thing for one’s health, but it seems he’s certainly better off being hooked on sausages than being an alcoholic or drug addict.

8. BLEACH BATHS

There’s no doubt that bleach makes a fine cleaner, particularly when you need to clean up something particularly nasty like dog poop. Taking a bath in it, however, is taking cleanliness to a degree that’s probably not necessary and maybe even dangerous. Especially for a woman, who’s anatomy tends to be a bit more exposed than that of a man, if you know what we mean. A 28-year-old woman from Alabama seems as if she just cannot get enough bleach in her life. Although she claims she’s not a germ-o-phobe or someone who’s addicted to keeping things super clean, she cleans her entire home with bleach every day, using up to 300 gallons of it each year. Her love of bleach involves how it feels on her skin and how it smells and she never bathes or showers without using what she describes as “the right amount.”

9. ROCK EATING

We thought eating glass would be tough enough on a person’s teeth as it is, but there’s a 44-year-old woman who lives in Bedford, Virginia who actually eats rocks, and she’s been doing so for over 20 years! It was the “earthy” smell of the rocks that initially attracted her to munching on rocks. Since her first bite, she’s been unable to stop and usually cannot go for more than a few hours without doing it. She makes the task a bit easier on her teeth by breaking them with a hammer first. One thing we’re pretty sure of in this case, and that is that she does not suffer from a mineral deficiency.

10. EATING TOILET PAPER

Continuing with the theme we’ll call “eating really weird stuff,” a 34-year-old woman actually enjoys eating toilet paper. Able to down about a half-roll of two-ply in one sitting, she admits that she never goes anywhere without a supply of toilet paper. She keeps it in her purse and in the glove compartment in her car. She reports that it’s the feeling of the toilet paper in her mouth that she enjoys and not the taste, which really comes as no surprise since we don’t think they manufacture it with taste in mind. Despite efforts by her family to get her to stop, she seems to believe it will not harm her and continues to take toilet paper into her body instead of using it to aid in removing stuff from her body as nature intended.
