He is even saying he has been a victim of some people in England all just because he is Chelsea Coach shocked

The man sure knows how to talk. Wonder whether he is the same person that has been the beneficiary of so many wrong refreeing in the past.

The season is yet to be over. Let's just wait and see cool
Sports › Re: World's Most Entertaining Football Team by bolaoni(m): 5:56pm On Mar 17, 2006
My guy, you have not actually answered my own question.

Which decade did you say Cantona belong to? Please let me know when he retired for him not to be part of this decade?

Were you watching the Premiership in the 90s or you started supporting Arsenal by the turn of the millenium?

Please let us all know!
Sports › Re: Robert Huth As A Striker? Mourinho Goofed! by bolaoni(m): 3:54pm On Mar 15, 2006
The fact that Terry can score doesn't make any coach convert him to a striker. Chilavert has scored more goals than most strikers but he has NEVER been played in that position before.

@ Bolaoni

This is the most outrageous comment i have read here. How can u put luckless Wenger before Fergie? Wenger is good but he aint the best.
Y me? where did I mention this? sad

babwilms:
@bolaoni. But we are looking at clubs in the last decade and Eric Cantona at man united days does not fit into last decade.
Oga, when did you start watching football? huh Please don't be embarrased by this question

Your above statement shows that you started may be in this new millenium shocked Saying Eric Cantona does not belong to this decade is something ridiculous embarassed

Which decade did he belong to then? Maradona's or Pele's? Please let us know what fact you have on him. angry
Sports › Re: World's Most Entertaining Football Team by bolaoni(m): 1:53pm On Mar 15, 2006
No matter what anybody think, this thread will always be biased.

We all have a club we support and to us, they will always be the best.

Will I be biased? Well me think Man U. if we are to consider the past ten years. cool

Which club has been able to win so much laurels as Sir Alex and his boys during this period in time?

I remember the days of Eric "The King" Cantona!

The Best Gaffer?

it all depends on what you are looking at.

All the coaches have their strenghts and they all have their weaknesses.

One thing I can't condone is putting Allardyce in the league of the other 3 coaches, That is absolute INSULT angry

He should be in the same league as the likes of Curbishley, Pearce and whoever.
Sports › Re: Peter Crouch: What Manner Of A Player? by bolaoni(m): 1:14pm On Mar 15, 2006
Crouch!

Should have been in the class of Eddy Dombraye angry

Wonder what he is doing in Liverpool, with him and his fellow legless strikers, the club has become LIVERFOOL

Can anybody beat this record:

"They have now only scored five in 10 games and it was a litany of missed chances led to the red ribbons being removed from the trophy Liverpool value most.
In both the Premiership (33 goals from 436 efforts) and the Champions League (six from 89 before tonight), Liverpool average a goal every 14 or 15 efforts.
"

I saw this on Soccernet.com last week and was like shocked

I'm sure Benitez will be mad at himself for selling Baros

Maybe we should also be posting the pics of guys like Desailly, Maldini, Stam, Campbell and the rest scoring goals.

Anything special in him scoring in that game? Did Klinsmann use him as a striker or what?

I didn't watch the match, so update me my Oga. wink

@Kola

Yes, I know, most of the players mentioned are also post Westerhof players.

Most of them played during the 95-97 season.

Its so good bringing back the memories. I remember how excited I was then listening to league results.

A day without listening to FRCN News, Sunday morning, is an incomplete one.

Gone are those days! sad

Teeroy,

Ifinally got the names I have been looking for, but mi guy they are plenty ooo.

I discovered close to 60 guys that were setting the local league on fire in the 90s.

Let me share some and we all discuss d memories we have of these players:

Patrick Pascal, Akin Ademofe (Eagle Cement) Bosun Ayeni, Ikemefuna Ozuah (Jasper), Bayo Akintola (Nigerdock), Francis Kumbur(Plateau), Clement Osahon(Rangers), Emmanual Ebiede, Gideon Imagudu(Concord), Sunny Nwachukwu(ACB),Ibe Johnson(Inwuanyawun), Arthur Madueme, Muisi Ajao,James Eneagwuna 68, Kingsley Obiekwu

Let me just stop here for today. I know your memory will be coming alive of the good old days smiley Idon't think the league of today has so many talents like it was in the 90s.

I don't want to start the analysis on these players, I'mleaving the floor open to you guys who have any memory about any of them.

teeroy:
Do u remember Ochuko Otos?He was at Concord FC then.really skillful midfielder.he played in that U23 team that were held by Kenya to a draw at the National Stadium before the pros came nad redeemed us at the "Battle of Mombassa".
Ochuko Otovbi I remeber him well. Trying to remember some of those Concord players.

I remember Sunday Ilevbare of Super Stores who later moved to Suting. I think there is one Daniel Njoku, can't remember so much about him. Please can we all remember the players of Nothern extract?

Yeah! Barnabas Inienger! Played while Baba Yekini was still in the news but fizzled out early. John Zaki, Bobolayefa Edon all Amuneke's mate in Cairo 1991. I think there is also Kabiru Baleria or so, Lawrence Enyi was playing for Elkanemi then.

@Tee

I wasn't able to look thru the Complete Football because of yesterday's matches. I will get those names ready tomorrow.

Mourinho goofed?

No way! He was confused! grin

Look at the way he kept shaking his head anytime the camera focus on him. cheesy

What do you expect when he has tested all he has: Drogba, Cole, Lampard, Gudjonsen, Duff, Crespo, Robben and there seem to be no headway? shocked

Maybe he thought they will win one fluke corner/free kick and the guy will gain an advantage with his height. grin

Wonder why all the Chelsea boys in this forum are silent grin

Taofik Malik

Yeah you made me remember this guy! he was then @ 3SC! That reminds me of Gbenga Okunowo. Was it injury or old age that wasted that guy? He was moving really fast by getting in Barca, but couldn't just stay in there! Oh my!

David Ogaga! That tall 3SC guy. remember their CAF cup win?
Sports › Re: Forgotten Players In Nigerian Soccer by bolaoni(m): 1:21pm On Mar 08, 2006
GABRIEL OKOLOSI!

He was touted to become the next Yekini, fizzled out when he went to Europe.

Where is Ahmed "Yaro Yaro" Garba now? Ganiyu Shittu was supposed to be prominent now, but he is no where to be heard/seen. Shade Akinrolabu was a shining star in Nigerdock then but where is he? His brother, Gbemi, is having a nice time now, but I pray he lasts sha.

Let me just get home and I will list some more. The memories of the good ol' days of the Naija league is just coming back now.

Thanks Teeroy for starting this wink

How can anyone forget all the "youthful players" paraded by Stationery Stores back in 1992/3?

Hakeem Ogunlade, Tokunbo Gbadamosi, Abdul Sule, Eddy Okoyomo, Leye Akinde and the rest.

i rememeber also Monday Agbontaen, Edema Fuludu of JBerger, Eddy Dombraye, Edward Anyamkyegh, Ndubuisi Opara both of Jasper United, Longinus Duru also of JB then. Wilson Oboh nko?

Kanu's mates in Japan: Blessing Anyawun, Charles Okonedo and others.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Infact it was as if teeroy stole this topic from me. I was going through 1997 edition of Complete Football's Top 20 and saw lot of names and was wondering, where all the players are now. sad So many talents!

When I get home tonite I will get the copy of the mag then type a whole lot of names that were in the news then.

Remember Precious Monye? Francis "The Cat" Anike, GK of Jasper United back then. What of the guys in Udorji United back then? So many wasted talents! angry

What a good display from Chelsea.
because you are short of words abi?

Good display ko, Good display ni.

How could you say yesterday's display by ur team was good? If it is another person, I 4 know what to say.

The truth is that money cannot buy success, no matter how much you spend.

This is just good riddance to bad rubbish.

Heard the loud mouth said the better team went out! shocked

Imagine someone who was always shaking his heads (water don pass garri) say this.

Maybe Mourinho was playing his own fantasy game and in that game Chelsea was better, but not in the two legs of the ORIGINAL CL grin

Kola, better luck next time. Thank your stars that Messi couldn't complete the game, he would have been so MESSILESS on that your back four.
