When the successful candidates for the 2016 Police Recruitment of 10,000 officers were publicised, my faith in Nigeria was restored as people with no connections whatsoever were successful simply because they worth it. See below the link of the Nairaland FP piece I wrote https://www.nairaland.com/3505998/npf-recruitment-real-sign-nigeria But now, the reverse is the reality. All the candidates slated for interview, ASPs and Inspector cadres, have been shortchanged. Majority of the reserves were also affected. It is worthy to note that Police Service Commission released all successful candidate names in December 2016. The reality now is 260 succesful ASP candidates slated for interview have been discarded and changed with names that were not in the list released by Police Service Commission in December 2016. The affected candidates have gone to Police Service Commission headquarters in Abuja where they were told point blank their names have been changed, and the recruitment is over. Attached is an audio clip Modified: The audio clip is too large. I'll resize it and add it later. Is this how we will continue in Nigeria? Where is the hope for those without 'long legs'? Buhari made us believe he is a disciplined man who will do things the right way without allowing long legism, and corruption. But we have discovered otherwise. The worst part of this charade was that most of the individuals who were shortlisted and later shortchanged resigned from the little job they were doing to receive the call to serve their country when Police Service Commission told them to resume camp December 31st, 2016. Now they have been shortchanged and they are with no job despite the fact that PSC pasted their names all over the newspapers and online. This is an impunity and cheating of the highest order. The only solution is for PSC to restore these individuals stolen status, get them interviewed and absorb them into NPF if found worthy. They must get back their stolen rights. Lalasticlala, please improve Nigeria like you always do by pushing this FP for the media teams of PMB, Osinbajo and others to see. |
manny4u:I tell you. We suppose ask questions |
zigzee:In what part of my comment did I say I was in Abj? Bravo to you brother |
DONOMOTOLA:Which word is enough for the wise? You read what Miami35 wrote. He clearly stated that it is not a protest. Just an information finding mission from official mouths. Why will you have to say it will be termed protest? You are the types that changes normal things to abnormal. All these false, true and semi-false information being passed by people with long legs here, has any helped us so far? What is wrong in demanding genuine information regarding our status from the horses mouth? ANd as us no get any long leg or way to politicians, wetin you want make we do? Make we siddon look? Abeg park one side jare Everyone, IT IS NOT A PROTEST. We just want to know what the official plan for us is. Someone like me resigned from my place of work thinking I was going to resume camp Dec 31st. Now January is gone with no income. Meanwhile I have bills to pay. Lots of bills. I will like to know what plan they have so that I can plan myself. I no wan to go salaryless this month again. Everyother people put on interview or reserve have similar stories too. It is not wrong to demand information from PSC as they are not officially dishing any out. |
Lanre90:No. This is pure criminality. Where did the poor get a jeep to block the car of the rich? |
Ej12:Pls add me to the whatsapp group 07069461233 |
Pls house, any development on the info the news agencies were suppose to gather for us? |
Allwility:It is obvious the OP is working for a one-man business. For this set of business owners, it is usually very difficult to work with them. They usually feel on top of the world because they employ and pay people and use that arrogance to insult at will when little correction or afore guidance will do. They even insult when its their fault. My former boss frustrated 2 guys till they resigned just because one got wedded and took a week off and got sick immediately he came back and was absent for another three days. The guy and his work partner were frustrated till they resigned. I also resigned from same work when the insults were unbearable coupled with the fact that full salary was never paid most times. So I feel the pain of the OP. My advice to him is that he should work out the client's refund since they were the one at fault in the first place, then resign after complete damage control to the mistake. |
EXCLUSIVE: Army officer attacks Nigeria’s service chiefs, says they are ‘Nollywood actors’ Angered by what he described as the inability of the military to provide the needed weapons and equipment to defeat the Boko Haram terror sect, and the recent ease at which insurgents were killing senior army officers, a top infantry commander has described the country’s service chiefs as “Nollywood actors”. T.J. Abdallah, a lieutenant colonel, and the commanding officer (CO) of 151 battalion located at Banki Junction, Borno, is now in trouble with military authorities after making the remarks on a WhatsApp group operated by the 49 regular cadet class of the National Defence Academy (NDA). A report of an investigation into the activities of the WhatsApp group, ordered by the chief of army staff, Tukur Buratai, a lieutenant general, seen by PREMIUM TIMES, described Mr Abdallah’s comments as “derogatory” and “seditious”. The investigation was centred on the exchanges in the group between November 15 to November 17, 2016, soon after B.U. Umar, a lieutenant colonel, was ambushed and killed by the terrorists. Mr. Abdallah “was very close friend” of late Mr. Umar, the report titled:“Interim Report on the Derogatory Comment Against the President and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Chief of Army Staff on Social Media by Lieutenant Colonel T.J Abdallah,” revealed. Apparently angered by the killing of his friend, Mr. Abdallah took to the group to lament the failure of military authorities to supply needed weapons, ammunition, and equipment for the quick defeat of the insurgents. Describing the service chiefs as “Nollywood actors”, Mr. Abdallah, the report claimed, lambasted them for their lack of initiative, stating that if they had challenges in equipping troops, they should simply surrender to Boko Haram and allow troops to return home. The report further claimed that Mr. Abdallah urged the service chiefs to inform President Muhammadu Buhari that they were unable to execute the anti-insurgency war any longer. There have been increased disquiet among troops fighting Boko Haram over poor feeding, inadequate equipment, and basic supplies such as provision of drinking water. In December 2016, soldiers of the 21 Brigade of the Nigerian Army revolted over poor welfare, shooting in the air and threatening to kill any officer who tried to stop them. The officer, according to the report, lambasted the Nigerian government for failing to properly arm troops and wondered how soldiers were supposed to fight and conquer Boko Haram, who he claimed have superior fire power. Mr Abdullah was further quoted to have accused President Muhammadu Buhari of “dragging the war not to finish”. The report further claimed that Mr. Abdallah accused the government of having given money to Boko Haram to buy weapons to use against troops while claiming there was no money to buy ammunition for troops. This, he claimed was evident in the “metamorphosis” of Boko Haram militia, the report alleged. The report also blamed Mr. Abdallah for spreading “conspiracy theories” about the killing of senior officers by Boko Haram. Mr. Abadallah was accused of saying there was a mole within the military passing information to the insurgents. He was also alleged to have supported a comment by another member of the group that there was no way a senior officer could easily be killed in battle without the foreknowledge of the military hierarchy. He was further alleged to have said that as a commanding officer his enemy was not Boko Haram but the Federal Government and the army headquarters. Army authorities suggested in the report that the claims by the officer were false and unprofessional. He has therefore been relieved of his command and is undergoing disciplinary procedures, those familiar with the matter told PREMIUM TIMES. In Netherlands, you cannot press your horn except its an emergency that is provable. If not, you'll be fined 50 euros |
AfroSisi:This is exactly what the OP is saying. You guys will put your freewill at work by friendzoning a genuine person who loves you while day dreaming about a perfect partner. Few years down the line, you'll be complaining and begging God to bring you together with someone that loves and understand you. Smh. Kontinu |
End of another week. No official news from PSC or NPF on the fate of those put on reserve list or set to be interviewed by PSC. Our lives have been on hold. Many have resigned from their places of work before knowing those slated for interview will still sit at home for some time. Many are putting critical life steps on hold because they do not know the next step of PSC. Na wa o for these police commission people |
I learnt of how some people got money to partake in MMM and I was astonished. There is a man who took a bank loan to do MMM while I learnt of another man who sold his car to do MMM. I also know someone who took all his savings and invested it in MMM. Now they are all left in limbo when MMM became stuck. My question is why are Nigerians this stubborn? Didn't everyone read that only spare money should be used? For me, their foolishness were strongly supported by their greed |
iceberylin:OR HOW SMALL WAS IT? ![]() |

yakxin10:You shouldn't say this. You're not at the camp So you can't know how busy they are |
Any info for specialists awaiting interview? |
mynduu44:PSC did not plan this well. Why release the names of the specialist without any definite info to follow? They just released our names, said everyone should resume for training on Dec 31st when they know we will still do interview. The interview sef has no date yet. It is disturbing for me because I had to resign from the place I get little change to pay my bills when the newspapers started printing our names upandan. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only specialist ASP waiting for interview who resigned from his/her place of work when PSC announced that training starts Dec 31st. And now we have to wait till God knows when. |
Please anyone that gets to Jos early tomorrow should help us ask about the fate of Specialists meant for interview. Pls assist to help clear the air on that is issue. Many are involved in this. Cc Adejaredavid, Emmysteve, Bleepyou, Lowkeygod, Lankyyyy, Zikdochi, Babagana011, Binumar1, |

Below is a piece written by Bamidele-Ademola Olateju in one of her Upfront series. It's a good piece for both married and unmarried folks. Our society is facing a decline in values because the family unit is under assault. The pressure of modern living and the demands of work takes parents away from children. Women are working in demanding positions and occupations or are sometimes breadwinners thus giving them less time to be with their children. Without a doubt, the usual considerations that goes into choosing a mate, getting married and having children are changing. Even with these changes, there are time tested factors that makes building a strong family unit, a successful marriage and parenting easier. Don't just marry your spouse, marry his/her family, it is most important for your peace and harmony. Love is important in choosing a mate, chemistry is important but the most enduring factor that keeps a marriage long after the giddy feelings are gone is SHARED VALUES. Couples should have shared values and expectations. While so many things change when the initial gragra is gone, shared values and expectations will keep you on track. Never be in a rush to get married, it is important to have a fairly long engagement because humans can change in unexpected ways. With a 2-3 years engagement, you will have the opportunity to see these changes, have an assessment done and adjust if need be or walk away. Be financially and emotionally prepared before you jump into marriage. Love does not solve financial problems, planning does. Be realistic, love and other associated emotions are powerful but money is king, it is a lot more powerful. You need money to raise a family and maintain your home. Be careful at creating problems or inviting trouble. Problems like domestic violence, divorce, unplanned pregnancies, ill-mannered children, drug and alcohol abuse are devastating. It can take you years to correct marital errors. My father told me ast the age of 13, that; "any mistake in marriage is always corrected in the grave." Be wise! Have the understanding that serial births is one of the quickest ways to poverty, have the children you can care for. The best marriage have defined boundaries. The success of every marriage depends on how husband and wife handles familiarity. Successful marriages thrive only under temperate conditions where, love, mutual respect and understanding are standing rules. It is easy to communicate, be tolerant and willing to make sacrifices when those three things are present. It is also important to let your families know you value their love and support but not meddling. Be firm when you draw your boundaries and don't forget to make your own rules and solve your own problems. Help from family to settle issues should be sought as the last resort and don't employ scorch earth policy when you have misunderstanding. Don't try to win always. It is not a contest. Any bad thing about your spouse that you told your family will never be forgotten. They will never forgive your spouse even when you have. Helpful Strategies 1. Don't date someone you can't marry 2. If you can't afford marriage, wait! 3. How a man treats his siblings is a pointer to how he will treat you. 4. How your wife's mother looks is how she will look, 30 years down the road. 5. Marriage is a partnership, put in your share of investment. 6. You look stupid when you discuss your spouses faults. What were you thinking? 7. Do not discuss your sex life unless with a doctor or therapist. 8. Keep looking nice after marriage or you risk neglect. 9. Men do not change, women do. 10. Maintain some level of individuality otherwise you will feel imprisoned. 11. Respect each other's privacy, snooping can ruin things. 12. Women are complex creatures and are more powerful than you think, manage your wife for best results. |
I'll be 30 in February and I do not know how to drive a car, ride a bike or bicylce. I have never rode or driven anything in my life . |
