How does that matter if it is the truth.

This shows that poverty is a tool of politicians. They need people to be poor so that they can manipulate them with handouts.
Are you just figuring that out? Education is another tool. Why do think Notherners behave like robots. They don't know any better and whatever the imam says goes.

Does anyone remember when NL was an informative medium? When the right information was always distributed. Now it is just a traffic site. Anything for a click. I have never seen a site with so much useless moderators.

I don't think the female members of NL should comment too much. There's always a wild streak in everyone. When the right pressure or incentive is applied, anyone can do anything. Remember ladies: all girls claim virgin till they are caught pregnant.

There is a yoruba saying that best describes the average Nigerian, and definitely describes the president, ministers and governors. "Nkan ti gbo yin fe je, ko je ke gbon"

Please & Please.
You are not an American citizen, you're just a permanent legal resident.
You can't get a citizenship in 6 month.
You only get your citizenship after living for 5 years in America
You've just confirmed my suspicion. You are military and you don't even know the simplest thing they drill into you when you go to basic training.
So, your platoon/drill sgt let you graduate without acquiring your citizenship. Lol. I've heard it all today.

Nope, I got the American passport, within 6 months of arriving. German by marriage. British; you don't wanna know. Nigerian by birth. In that order.

Why can't i get in in a week ??
You ought to know this. You have to live in the states at a minimum of 5 years before you can apply. After 5 years, there is a minimum of 3 month processing and interview. Immediately, if you join the military. Haba, you should know this na.

I will like to see thieves being lynched in broad daylight killing at least 12 kids, i will like to see policemen collecting 20 naira in Nigeria.
It is 70% better than seeing a 17 year old boy entering a high school & going on a shooting spree, a man killing his wife, five children & himself, Mexican gangs killing people in the streets of california, Illinois gang members killing people people like fowls, Government sending her own citizens to the electric chair & gas chambers, serial killers abducting, killing & burying 80 women they killed in the basement of the homes.
Jesus!! i am arguing with a deranged psycho in denial. You don't even know what's going on in the country you are defending.

I swear with my life no Nigeria will ever think of going to America.

I have been to every state in America & i will tell you this, America is a shit country.
They only have massive lands which they stole from the native indians, Mexico, france, russian & England.
They stole New mexico from the spanish, Louisiana from french, Montana, vermont , New hempshire, virginia, maine from England, Alaska from russians, the whole of America from the Native indians
I hope you'all can see the hiprocrisy and irony of the bolded statement. She is here in the states, enjoying the benefits, far away from the firing line in Nigeria. I have never met anyone who loves living in shit. Go back to Nigeria na.

to add to that, cases of police brutality are followed to a conclusion; not like nigeria where there are two days of outrage on papers and then the case dies.

three years later, no one is in jail for the death of tge aluu 4. all tge serial killers refernced were caught and convicted.
That's true, at least the serial killers were identified and caught. Dem fit catch any for Nigeria?

Thank you, thank you, Thank you.

The way we shout racism comes across as an excuse from entitled self indulgent spoilt brats.

People here keep shouting Ferguson like as soon as you step into america as a black man you get shot. No you do not. Live a law abiding life, be respectable and respectful and you don't have any problems. I have said whilst there is an issue of heavy handedness sometimes by the police, most of the blacks shot were in the wrong place e.g. teenagers robbing shops around instead of being in school or working. The homeless man in NY... why the hell would you be reaching for a police an's gunhuh??

are you telling me you get into a struggle with a Nigerian police office to the extent you reach for his gun and he would smile at youhuh Common sense tells you to always be respectful when dealing with the police and theta respect will most likely be reciprocated. If you react arrogantly or aggressively to them the react same back.

We keep talking about all the opportunities in Nigeria but it all boils down to the opportunity to make huge amount of money quickly (quick material mentality) but mostly at the expense of others and knowing the right people. The problem is this is not guaranteed and you are also as likely NOT to make it and like a life of frustration. See how people are scrambling for FAAN jobs and you will see the level of desperation in Nigeria. I know people who went for the interviews and the demands made are so ridiculous you winder what the hell people think in that country. Go out of their way to make things difficult for ourselves.

Anyway goodluck to the poster. If he/She is not just creating a post as a prank to see reactions then he/she is just a spoilt entitled brat who doesn't appreciate the life and opportunities available and comes up with silly reasons such as food (black people will be extinct in 100 years), the weather etc.

If you really want to be in touch with your roots in Africa, why not take your ass down to sierra leone or Liberia and when Ebola get your ass lets see if you will stay behind to use the local traditional medical care to be in touch with your roots and culture or if run quickly back to America for proper healthcare.

Goodluck.
You are a rare breed Sir. I would hand you a cigar if i could.

Are you okay ? USA is the crime capital of the world, and they own the largest prison industrial complex. In America, women are raped, murdered and buried. Houses are buggered and occupants set ablazed and it happens again and again ? Even the Government takes arms against the citizens. Its more like a police state. Why do you think that the 2nd amendment was enacted ? Nnah, dont say s.hit about things you do not know, I do not think you have ever visited America. The closest you have known about the good Ol' USA is from google. Take no offense.
And as usual you fail to see the point. Where in the world have you heard that there is no crime. The difference is that in the US, people don't feel comfortable burning another human being, or cutting off people's breast in broad daylight while onlookers jump up for joy. This tells you of the deep psychological decay in Nigeria's society. Also armed men don't feel comfortable showing up on the streets or in your house daring the police to come arrest them. The scary part is that Nigerians like you don't see a problem with that. You have been raped psychologically that you are not sensitive to these things anymore. I pity you for not realizing this. And you are right, i am typing this from okomaiko. wink

Lies we have told ourselves for years and have come to believe them.
Stupid drunk driver lost control of his vehicle and prowled through the market and nearly crippled my aged by agelessly energetic aunt. Got taken to an Orthorpedic hospital with no CT scan or MRI machines. This is the ONLY specialist hospital serving about 20million! Doctors didn't see any need for a brain CT scan even though they had her face sutured with her back head swollen. We had to fight for 2 days in order to get a CT scan approved by her MD.. Cranial CT scan is just N50k, full body scan could have cost up to N200k, btw minimum wage is N18k.. Naija is Devil's experimental lab on earth!
Its not a big deal; according to GIYAZZ. He believes it is normal for things to be that way.

I counter your question with one of my own. What has made you so immune to corruption, gore, violence, and human degradation, that you don't seem to think it is a big deal anymore. You should be very worried. It is not normal.

I never said it was Normal. I just wanted you to atleast point out some positive things about Nigeria amidst the negative ones you posted just to make it fair. But from what you've been saying lately, I don't think you think there's anything positive about Nigeria, Hence the REAL MADNESS!
And you still fail to understand that to saner people in enlightened societies, those points i have mentioned, nullifies what ever positives Nigeria has. "oh, the country has an abundance of natural resource, the weather is relatively stable, there is great opportunity for agriculture, but you have no security and armed men can break into your house at night, rape your wife and daughters, steal all you have and possibly kill you. The police will not come until the armed men are gone and probably ask for money for fuel before they do. why don't you come and live here," you'll like it" NO THANKS.

Forgive my english, but things WORSTER than these aforementioned you put up there happen in the U.S and other Western countries in a daily!! You are just blinded by the negative news you must have been reading or hearing about Nigeria lately. Truth is, GOOD THINGS DO HAPPEN HERE TOO!

You just come up with bullcrap about a nation and ignore it's positive sides.
I can tell you for a fact that nothing "worster" than what I have described happen in the US. people don't just show up in public with rifles in broad daylight without the police showing up in 5 minutes. And the citizenry don't go about cutting people's breast off for stealing, while onlookers clap and jump for joy. Are you ok? There is nothing positive to say about a country that has no value for human life. To make it worse, people like you think it Is normal. MADNESS.

You're not telling lies about "The violence life-Jungle Justice thing" but then you made it sound like Nigeria is a war field literally. I mean, your post was filled with unnecessary and negative hyperboles!
How can it be a hyperbole if it is true. Did a woman's breast got cut off this week? Did three armed men hold lagos island to ransom for twenty minutes? Like i said, the reason you don't think it is a big deal is because you are used to the gore and violence. And that is absolutely not normal.

I am in no way influenced by negative comments from people who don't know anything about me and what I have to offer. They are ignored. Thank you for accepting me my friend
Dog wey wan lost no de hear im master whistle. The posters rooting for you to come back don't really like you. Misery likes company. Just this week alone, 3 armed men raked havoc on the streets of lagos weilding automatic rifles for a good twenty minutes. TWENTY MINUTES. No police, no security agents. Nothing. The taste of the pudding is in the eating. Just go and see for yourself. You could be raped, beaten to a pulp and no one will help you. You obviously know the in and outs of NL. Scan through. there is a page, with pictures, about a woman whose breast was cut off for supposedly stealing something. Can you imagine that? No due process, just jungle justice. The reason these posters don't mention things like that is because Nigerians are used to gore and violence. Nothing shocks them anymore. The status quo is absolutely normal. A Nigerian could be taking an evening stroll and see a dead corpse in the middle of the road, and he/she would just pass by as if nothing was there. And this is the social norm you want to live in. I wish you good luck.
