Whether he performed or not is immaterial to the discourse. Rivers state has an upland and Riverine power dichotomy. Odili was an uplander. After his tenure, he ensured that the power rotation template was discontinance. It was what gave rise to the emergence of Amaechi. Owing to Odili ceding power to the ikwere, I am aware the Ogbakor Ikwerre Convention, the apex socio-cultural organization confer on him it's highest honour.

Seargeant Chidi Awuse, Late Eric Aso and other prominent Ikwerre politicians had made attempt at becoming governor but could not achieve that feat. It took Odili to make it possible.

Even before Wike's emergence as candidate of the PDP, Patience Jonathan sought the buy-in of the likes of Odili and others before it materialised.


Can you also in good conscience also opined that Gov. Sim made himself governor or fought for it?

For a man who made it possible for Ikwerre ethnic nationality to have a taste at the governance of Rivers state. If not for Odili who systematically weakened the Ijaws political hegemony & subsequently gave power at a platter of gold to the Ikwerres, Amaechi and Wike would not have been governor today.

Wike should be grateful. If not for Odili, he would have become a one term local government chairman. Rumuiperikon politically has never been a force to be reckoned with in Obio/Akpor politics. That Wike came and changed the narrative is all thanks to Peter Odili and his wife.

Peter odili is not an elder stateman, he is sycophant claiming elder. The same odili that was killed politically in rivers state when ameachi was governor. WIKE brought him back to life politically when he became governor 2015
