fergie001: So as a citizen, you don't know you can seek interpretation of the Constitution as it affects you, especially if there is a seeming breach? I'm the one to tell you that. What's key is what I highlighted in your comment. If my rights are or about to be violated, I can approach the court. I have the Locus to do so. We are not talking about my right as an individual now. The issue is whether those who instituted this suit at the Supreme Court have the Locus Standi to do so. |

fergie001: They do have the locus standi. It is a question of interpretation of the Constitution and they do have the vires to file the suit.
The SC can determine the case is academic since the Principal Relief is on the Rivers issue, that's the only way they can hide under it but Yes, they do have locus standi. So because something involves the interpretation of the constitution, anyone can file anything in court? It doesn't work that way. We will see if they have locus standi. |

chatinent: Didn't the state town planners approve of the place before the building commenced? There is no way the hotel owner wouldn't have his complete registered papers before beginning his project.
No solid reason given to the demolition apart from saying that the family didn't want the hotel there. Na you go tell land owner what to build on his land?
And you are tryna bend the law to demolish a four storey building...of money, investment, and hardwork... because you aren't in good terms with the hotel owner? ...just because the family of Gani didn't want a hotel built around them..or to honour Gani? ...on top another man's land?
How does it constitute a permanent threat! Reason not given. Is it noise pollution? Or the hotel owner stole Gani's land?
Irrelevant gaslighting! Wonders have ended. So because Gani said he doesn't want the hotel there so it must be removed...from a land the owner bought and wasn't given for free? Wow.
In other words, to preserve and honour Gani, if he wishes that Mr A be killed, he should be kīlled?
Attached is picture of the hotel I presume I saw on Punch.
Where is the threat of life laho?
Those SANs have become petty.
Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The group raised significant safety and privacy concerns, claiming that the building not only looms over the Fawehinmi compound but also poses a security risk, potentially serving as a surveillance or access point for criminal elements.
“The fence protecting Chief Gani Fawehinmi’s house faces imminent collapse,” they warned.
“A 1000-litre capacity water tank installed right on top of this 4-storey structure has thrice collapsed and fallen into Chief Gani Fawehinmi’s compound from this same apartment. We are fortunate that no one has so far been hurt or killed… But these repeated incidents themselves show without doubt how dangerously close this structure is.”Read before commenting. |

kinguwem: I don't think so. He's not desperate for power compared to PMB & PBAT. He'd a conscience & was satisfied with being a one term President. From what we've observed since 2015, none of the leaders was prepared for leadership; just sentiments. There was no one more desperate for power than Jonathan in 2015, but he had no choice than to concede. For an incumbent, his defeat was resounding and his opposition was strong. People were fed up with the incompetence and rampant corruption in his government and yearned for change. |

blacksam01: The writer knows next to nothing about international politics and defence of Ukraine... Zelenzky succeeded in mobilizing the entire world in aid for Ukraine and they responded..
Zelenzky has killed more Russians that any other nations aside the Germans since it's creation... Something u never thought will happen.
Zelenzky has inflicted the most damage on the Russian economy since it's history
Zelenzky has attract the most sanctions on Russia more than any other nations on earth...
Joke with him at ur own peril... It is not even a subject of debate. This is a war Ukraine cannot win. The support from mostly the U.S. and its allies was what sustained this conflict. |
