You can't default on visa terms but it easy to negotiate with your employer on work terms that will suit you.

Thank you.

I'll just let them know my current status states that I can only work 20 hours per week.

Dear Elders here,

Please I need your advice.

I recently came into the UK on postgraduate student visa. Last week I updated my LinkedIn profile to show my current location in the UK. I have received about 5 job opportunities from recruiters on LinkedIn. Same last week I told two of the recruiters that I'm a postgraduate student on tier 4 visa and I'm only permitted to work 20 hours per week on term time. But they said they needed someone who will do full-time. One even told me I should respond if I'm willing to do full-time but I'm yet to respond. I don't want to default on the visa terms.

This week I have three recruiters with very interesting job opportunities I'm yet to inform about my visa status because of the fear they will forget about the recruitment based on my visa status. One of the recruiters based in London told me about 99% remote work.

Please is there anything I could do to not default on my visa status while I work for any of these companies? I'm new in UK and I don't know how to handle this situation, so that I can grab this opportunity.

Please I need your advice and input.

Hello Bro.

How is your friend doing, I’m moving to North Ireland too in January same Ulster university - Magee campus.

How is the City?

Are they jobs, cause I need to hustle to pay my balance fees oo.

Also I need help with accommodation.

Ensure you have the 50% to complete your enrolment.

I don't know about Magee campus but in Belfast, there is challenge getting an apartment but people are still securing apartment while some are in private hostels. And there are part time jobs in Belfast.

Quick and important advice:

If you're coming this January and you don't have anywhere to stay, start now to search for accomodation against the time you intend to come. If you're going to use Airbnb, start now to search against your arrival date, since it's cheaper booking ahead. At least two weeks while you search for an apartment when you have arrived. Don't wait, book now!!!

It's easier now to get study visa than getting an apartment in the UK. Also ensure you have money to complete your enrolment. Some schools require 50% tuition fees before enrolment . And most schools are strict with enrolment deposit. In my school, students who didn't meet up with the enrolment and have arrived UK have been sent email that they will reported to UKVI in few days if the enrolment isn't done in 5 days. You don't want to be running around to meet enrolment deadline, while you still chasing apartment and you're spending money in hotel/hostel/Airbnb without no temporary source income. PLEASE, plan very well.

Some people who came this September are begining to feel depressed because of apartment and school enrolment issues. Also getting a part time job isn't difficult, but only a settled mind would have that courage to apply for those part-time jobs.

Although settling in may be a challenge, but it will definitely make it will surely get better and make sense.

Like I advised previously, for families, it would be better for main applicant to come first to secure apartment while dependents come in later. Except they have a sure place to stay.

My post is not to discourage anyone but to let us know the outlook of things now in the UK.

Thank you and I wish us success.

Hi, all.
I just applied to Ulster university for May Intake, but I have issue with my d.o.b. On my waec I have 3rd of March instead of 2nd March, Same on my degree transcript. But 2nd of March is what I have on my international passport which is the valid one.

Please can there be any issue on this?

You already stated it's an issue.

Can you swear an affidavit?

What size is advisable?

I think it's max 7kg. But mine wasn't up to that.

Has anyone traveled using Qatar Airways recently? Do they accept hand luggages and laptop bags?

I did this week. They accept hand luggage depending on the size.

Please if you're coming to the UK this time, ensure you make arrangement for accomodation while you're still in Nigeria so that you won't get stranded. This is very important. The earlier you book for an apartment, the cheaper.

Search on Airbnb, booking, and etc. Book early for two weeks minimum and come with money. Getting an accommodation now is very difficult.

If you're coming with your family, it would be better for one person to come first to secure an accommodation before other members of the family come.

Again, accomodation isn't a joke now.

Again, come with Pounds!!!

the fastest way to get your ticket is if you are in Lagos.. you make the booking and choose the book onhold option for 48 hrs then go to their VI office to make payment. You will get ticket almost immediately
If not in Lagos, then also book on hold for 48-72 hours and make transfer to their GTB naira account, then send proof of payment to the lagos reservation email as well as the doha email. Then u also have to call them to inform them about the paymnet so they can work on your ticket. Check the thread for the complete email addresses.
I do not fancy the second option from friday to sunday as their phone lines in Lagos always seem to be unresponsive during the weekends. It can be very annoying if you have paid and to then sit through a whole weekend with no one to talk to nor any ticket
3rd option- note the flight date u like and go on wakanow, travelbeta and travelstart and buy from them.. note with this option if u have any chnages to make to ur ticket u will be at d mercy of the travel agencies

Unfortunately I can't find the book on hold option on their website. That is the issue I'm having right now

Who has been able to secure am early date? I don't mind paying a premium service.

I'm filling my CAS and I was denied US visit visa in 2018 and I don't have the blue paper evidence.

Please what can I attach as an evidence.

Kindly pardon me if this has been discussed previously, I couldn't locate it.

Thanks.

From extensive research and feedback from both students and alumni, Belfast is a good and affordable place. There are part-time jobs available for student just as is obtainable in other parts of the UK.

I am also looking forward to connecting with Ulster University September Intakes or other Students in Belfast.

I'm going to same school in September

Can we get to connect?

you can request for the e-copy of your transcript...it's just 1k...it would be sent to your email address.
Log into your student account and request for your transcript

But can that be presented as an official transcript to the Uni? I saw that but they stated it can't be used officially.

Please enlighten me

Please who has been able to apply for unilag masters transcript?

I applied to Ulster and Derby and they requested I provide my transcript because I stated it as part of my qualification. This is a mistake on my part.

I don't know if ASUU strike would affect the application.

Thank you.

Just got an offer from university of Derby September intake, please anyone that has experience should advise if I should go for it or wait out. They offer the cheapest fees for the course I'm going for but I couldn't find much information on their payment plan.

If you have any idea of how their payment plan works and the availability of student jobs there, please help

I applied to same school this week but awaiting to receive any offer. I recently got a mail requesting for transcript.

Please when did you apply? Was the 2k discount effected on your tuition?

Thank you

Good day,

Please I need your assistance in buying a generator to power 1.5 HP water pumping machine. The generator use will be strictly for pumping. Because we have another generator for use already.

I saw Haier Thermocool TEC Generator Hustler Max Electric Series (3.0kW/ 3.5kVA), I don't know if it can power it.

Please I'm open to suggestions

You guys keep arguing who owns the biggest whatever among both tribes, whereas none of you own anything big aside your d*ck.

Even the owners of these companies don't argue like you people do aside a healthy competition to increase their market shares. Both men are great people in the society contributing a lot to improve wellbeing of the citizens.

You guys need to look for something serious to do, or better still go f*ck as many girls with your bigger whatever and stop disturbing us with your inconsequential comparisons.

Compare you lives with your neighbors and see how they have moved forward on life

All these things listed are normal activities and responsibilities in government and not achievement. The significant output of these activities are what should be categorized as "achievements".

How can signing a document be referred as an achievement? Only in Nigeria.
