I don't think this picture was gotten when Sanusi became a king. Probably when he was still a CBN Governor. An Emir has a special regalia he wears. This can't be true. |
Preciousgirl: what are they??Character, Capacity, Collateral, Capital, Condition. Character is the most important. Google for more understanding |
Make sure you understand the 5Cs of lending. |
Congrats to those who have passed the test. With this, you're 90 percent in, but you have to be patient if you're in Lagos, because to process for Lagos hopefuls takes a longer time compared to other training school locations. Currently, I think there are no Trainees in Lagos TS, so the process might be expedited. I must also state that you're lucky to have submitted your CVs and invited for the test because currently, there are not request for fresh applications. DB is a great bank to work in, you can learn as fast as you can, and contribute idead irrespective of when you joined the bank or your level. For the interview hopefuls, prepare your suits, clean hair cut, know what you have in your CV, and understand your course of study. The interviewers are nice people. So, don't fret. I wish you all the best. |
100Cents: IT staff is a contract staff. How do you know that the fraudster was a contract IT staff and he was being paid 60 to 70k? Do you presently work in any bank and you're privileged to understand IT governance and organizational structure? Please don't generalize, not all IT staff are contract, except you meant IT support staff. No bank will entrust their core IT asset to contract staff, and assign them admin privilege. Don't make a mess on Bank Management because they aren't dull. |
At what point is someone is categorized as being a 'millionaire'? Am I a millionaire if I have an asset or savings of One Million? What exactly are the criteria? |
This guy wanted to cripple S*** Bank. The bank has a weak internal control for allowing just a single person to authorize transaction worth that amount. These days internal fraud by bank staff are becoming incessant, and amount lost are high. Even contract bank Tellers are no exception. |
MissTeaseMe: My point exactly. Thanks jareWelcome Ma'am. Hmm... Your location says Milky way.. I'm in Andromedia Nebula (M31). |
I passed through the church sometime this month, and I saw the disaster that was waiting to happen. Anyone could have predicted the danger. It wasn't the main church auditorium but a tall, tiny building behind the main auditorium I wonder if they had no competent Engineer to advise them on the risk in such building. May the souls of the dead, RIP. |
Do Risk Analyst have a stake in the industry? Operational Risk, Information Security, to be precise. I've not seen any advert that suggest they are needed. |
2cato: The funny thing is thatThe rightful authorities are doing nothing about it. The banks and CBN are turning blind eye towards such development and this keep me wandering whether most of their staff are involve. Boys are not smilling. Please don't misinform people. Banks and CBN are observing these trends. And there are Information Security Units across banks saddled with the responsibility of monitoring phishing attacks targeted to customers. Such phishing sites and emails are taken down ones they get alert that there's a phishing attempt. If you know the amount that is spent on taking down a phishing site, you won't say there are not down anything. Hackers are just persistent. Banks are doing a lot to create awareness via text messages and emails informing customers never to compromise their banking details. |
SenseiX: What I love best is that he attracts credible individuals to the party, Jimi Agbaje for Lagos, Ribadu for Adamawa, Dr Alex Otti his old friend for Abia, plus he was probably the best performing northern governor of the 1999-2007 setDr Alex Otti is not in the gubernatorial race anymore. His appointment as MD Diamond Bank was recently increased to three more years. |
Does it mean when one is given as assistanceship, tuition and some smaller fees will be waived? |
Idazbawz: Anytime!Sorry to ask ones more: how easy is getting TA? Can single Letter of Recommendation be used for multiple PG application? |
Idazbawz: any of the two should be okay sireThanks |
Hi Gurus, please I want to ask; Someone having Masters in Nigeria and is willing to go for another Masters in the US, which of the letters of recommendation he has to submit- Undergraduate or previous Masters? |
I feel the bank should be sold to Heritage Bank. If this Bank is sold to banks with existing structures, it may lead to massive loss of employment. HB needs just a structure to fit in. |

Delay is a trademark for Arik Air. Last week thursday, we were delayed about 3hours for a flight from Lagos to Benin. No official apology was tendered, except their usual cake and juice served onboard. Delay is normal for Arik, don't fly with Arik if you have some urgent to do. |
I was in Benin when on saturday I heard of this incident. And I learnt it was Bob Izua's son. |
abbakacici: because the president has shows nigerian he don't have any b**L to actI thought you're studying in UK? |

The OP is a core critic of Nigeria. He has always discouraged people from staying in a Nigeria, and always advised them to desperately relocate out of Nigeria. I wonder what he now sees in the country he resents so much. Goodluck. |
obitee69: 243k...I wrk thereGbam! Over and out! |
chacha3: . Very correct, they are collecting cvs but it depends on who u know. But does it mean that after some yrs those that wil be employed now wil be sack as wellAfter working for about 10-20yrs in a bank, trust me, there's nothing to be scared about. Many of those relieved from their duties, will still land themselves into another profitable job. |
Have you tried switching from one department to another? You may find something that interests you, and keep you going in another department. If I may ask, what else would you like to do? Above all, follow your heart. |
Union Bank is about the be one of the best paying banks in the country. Hence the migration of experienced staff from other banks. This is info within the financial sector. |
Yes, this is true. I learnt those affected were/will be the old staff of the bank. I don't really know their criteria for selecting these 'old' staff. The bank is rebranding. Currently, there's massive recruitment for both new and experienced hire. Anyone who knows someone within the bank, should submit CV. |
This figures are not true. I know Senior Managers earn circa 20million per annum in banks. Then compare with GMs, EDs and CEOs. Also, no bank will disclose the actual take-home pay of their top executives. Those figures seem to be done by guessing. |
Femsyn: Trust me, if young peeps have the opportunity of choosing their careers, many wont be where they are todaySome younger people, if given an opportunity to choose between bank and PwC, KPMG et al., would rather choose bank because of the pay. I have a colleague who left PwC after working for about 4months because he wanted better pay, not knowing he can stay in one level and earn same salary for 5years. Whereas, 5years experience in PwC can take u into a much higher role and better pay. Young graduates fail to look into the future. They want immediate gratification. I work in a bank, and I wish I started in a consultancy firm. |
