Many Nigerians, especially the educated one from the South with access to the net, don't do facts and reality. They are always sentimental in outlook and this is why eventual political outcomes, such as PMB's win in 2015 and 2019, shocks them.

Folks from the SE can rant against Tinubu all they want. I think it is ignorance of the reality of Nigeria that is their problem. They don't understand that others don't hate Tinubu as the do nor prefer others ahead of him as they do.

The reality is that, for many Northerners, Tinubu represents tried and tested hands and perhaps the Southerner they can trust the most not to spring any nasty surprises or be overtly nepotistic and anti-North. The same played out with OBJ. Today, Tinubu is the closest to the OBJ the North settled in 1999 as the 'safest pair' of Southern hands.

New age fellows like Fayemi the conservative North will be wary of because he will be viewed a gamble and a lightweight who is not battle-scarred and has not been in the 'war' trenches with them as Tinubu has. Osinbajo, for all his good points, the North may worry is not strong enough to deal with the cabalistic and ugly aspect of Nigerian politics.

In fact, after the first choice of Tinubu, many conservatives in the North will pragmatically settle on Fashola, for many reasons, than any other.

Certainly none will prefer an Igbo above a Yoruba. This is the fact some cannot accept even as it is the Nigerian reality every ethnic group worked to deliver. Unless the Presidency remains in the North, it will not go anywhere but the SW if it heads South. This I can bet any money on.[/s]
