YungMillionaire: The truth is some Igbos (like the original people of Onitsha e.g. Azikwe) are descendants of Bini.
This is where the confusion is. The Igbos and Bini are not ready to acknowledge their connection. Yes, Onitsha people will soon reconnect to their Benin heritage. The Obi of Onitsha will drop his Obi Agbogidi title to Enogie Agbonghidi of Onitshakimen. Celebrations currently ongoing in the Oba palace of great Benin! All Benin sons with fake monikers must henceforth quit being cowards. We shall now use our real monikers in nairaland to declare the brotherhood of Great Benin with Onitsha and other Bini lands stolen by the Igbos. |

Miracle2020: Why do you want to grab their land? They said they are not Igbo so let them be. Ikwere have the right to choose who they are related to. Stop the land grabbing. Being an Igbo is not by force. Ikwerre’s are Bini! The founder of Ikwerre called Akalaka is a Benin Prince (Pronounced Aka ‘l’ aka in Bini language). Ikwerre real name is Iwhnurọhna before the Igbos changed it to Ikwerre during the old eastern region. The Oba of Benin will soon select the next Enogie to rule over his Ikwerre subjects. The Oba during his last visit to Governor Osanyeso Owaiken (formerly called Nyesom Wike) has informed Ogbako Ikwerre of his noble plans to change their social-cultural organization to Omo’n’edoIkwerregbovo. To match words with action, the next Igue festival in former (Rumumoku) now called Oredomoku will come up in December. They will need five fresh Ikwerre heads for sacrifice during the ceremony. The aim of the human heads is to cleanse all form of Igbo connections in the now reclaimed Bini land. Osalogbua must be praised! |

Good thing for Ebonyi
Imagine the other clown said he told Buhari that governors are very strong individuals. Which miscalculate? This is just the beginning for the PDP. More Igbo Governors to join, except Abia where they’ll be forced out by the APC. |

Benin subtle land grabbers. Una never finish claiming Itshekiri na Ikwere wey dey deny their Igboness una dey come claim. No be so? If Igbo people can be skeptical about the Ikwerre, their fake tales and all that, una wey be 5 LGA dey find bigger problem to add for una matter. Let me tell you guys a secret, Ikwerre and Igbos know the cat and rat game both are playing among themselves but you won't understand. The only time that both group will unite is only for political reasons.
So minority Benin should enjoy their status. I trust the Ikwerre to denounce you people when you cross your lane.
Meanwhile the title is wrong. It should be Ikwerre thanks Wike for affirming their unique Bini Ethnic Nationality.
Celebrations is currently happening in Oba palace Benin City? Italy is in a joyful mood all thanks to this news. The Great Benin Descendants will soon come for a unity meeting in Ikwerreland. Long lost brothers must never depart again. Wike will soon change his name to Owaiken! Amaechi will change his name to Amaegbovo. And the Rumu villages will remove their Eze’s and install Enogie’s loyal to the Oba of Benin.
Ikwerre is Benin land! Osalobua be praised. |

Eastlink: A welcome development. Something the SE should have done since 2003? They had the opportunity with with Buhari/Okadigbo ANPP but foolishly supported Obasanjo. What did Obasanjo gift them in return, political death? The same Obasanjo is the godfather of MASSOB who has now metamorphosed to IPOB, a monster currently ravaging the Igbo nation.
The opportunity arose again in 2007 with Buhari / Umezuoke but still our people ignorantly sold their birthright supporting Yar’adua / GEJ. Though Yar’adua was fair to everyone, but fairness and sympathy votes don’t count in Nigeria.
The last opportunity came in 2015 when Buhari toured the SE for Igbo alliance. A zone that had stood with him since 2001, but what he saw made him weep. Seeing that he couldn't get it he looked to the SW. This was where Ndigbo shit themselves in the foot. Even when the likes of Rochas with his APGA faction along with Ogbonnaya Onu ANPP rallied Ndigbo to join the APC, the wicked PDP politicians of Igbo extraction called them outcast and continued dining with the PDP. What should have been a bargaining chip in the APC was sold on the alter of greed. By foolishly standing with GEJ in 2015, the SE sounded their political death knell.
Well, It’s never too late than never. The SE must leave the PDP in drove, either starting a new party or seek the fellowship of the APC. A people must have self-worth and not be easily swayed by emotions. This is the lesson. All you said here is the truth. But will our people learn? |

24SEVEN: Oga try and get sense. He wrote about events in Rivers State and you're asking about the whole Nigeria. Wike is governor of Rivers and has the constitutional obligation to protect Riverians especially from external factors originating from Abia state which goes by the name IPOB. I support shoot on sight on all IPOB miscreants in Rivers State. Wike goofed by rushing to ask the army to apply what they do best. I don’t support extrajudicial killings. The army are currently doing that in Oyigbo. Shooting and killing at will. As a matter of fact, the mainstream media are not covering the true happening in that axis, it's worst than you can imagine. |

Yujin: Unfortunately, I don't think there's any at the moment. The most prominent of all the Igbo archeologists is Prof. Onwuejeogwu from Anioma. He did excellently well to prove the links between different Igbo clans and show case the beauty of Igbo tradition and historical chronology. Other notable archeologists are Afigbo, Elizabeth Isichei and Caroline Acholonu. These people were rare assets that the Igbo nation have been unable to replace. Till date, most Igbos don't know that there was a pyramid built in Igboland. That heap of slag from Iron smelting I believe is in or around Nsukka and most Igbos youths don't know about it. Since Nigeria has failed us, I think Igbo social study teachers should make it an effort to study these archeological works of those people I mentioned earlier and use their findings to teach our young ones the achievement of our ancestors. This will go a long way to boost their awareness and creativity. We have to be passionate about Igbo nation by researching stuffs ourselves. Igboland is sitting on untapped archaeological artifacts. The problem with Igbo history is our reliant on limited historians known for copy and paste. Almost all Igbo historians from Isichie etc seem to be following the limitations of Onwuejogwu whose historical basis was Nricententric. And this has led to a big lacuna of our true origin, limiting our origin to cock and bull tales. Even Kenneth Dike who was a recognized historian failed in such novel task, even going as far as ceding Igbo outer lands to other ethnic groups. I think it's time this new generation of Igbo historians, rise up and carry out massive findings, in not just the Igbo heartland but also areas such as Kogi, Benue, Kaduna, Igbanke, Bonny etc. and even collab with the SW, Edos and the Jukuns. Many of us would be shocked to what would be revealed about us. |

Afam4eva: For start, Edo indegenes do not all speak the same language. Apart from Bini and Esan that are related, some other parts speak different languages. You also have people from non-edo tribes living in the city more than you would have in Enugu. You’re not really getting me. How many people from the middlebelt live in Edo state? How many people from other south-south state bar Deltans live in Edo state? If you list Urhobo, Isoko people who ones shared same state in old bendel, then nothing stops states like Enugu, Plateau etc to be added to that list. Afteralll non-indigenes from Ogoja, Kogi and other Igbo states live in Enugu. |

Afam4eva: I'm from Enugu. Enugu is atleast 90% Igbo if anything. The non-Igbo minority are silent. Are you sure about that claim? This is because Edo is in the same category as Enugu. Most of the non-indigenes in Benin were ones in old Bendel state. So you cannot categorize people who lived in old bendel as metropolitan. |

Objective list, but you didn’t add Enugu state. You have people from Benue, Ogoja, Hausa, Deltans, Yoruba in the State.
The following states should be in that list.
1. Enugu 2. Kano 3. Oyo 4. Anambra 5. Plateau |

Notasyouthink: [s]Lol@ independent thinker... Do you really know what means/takes to be an independent thinker??
You claim to be an independent thinker but you're championing for what a white criminal ( lugard and Co.) created to continue existing.
You are an independent thinker that wants to remain as slave to Britain and Fulani, I will not say Hausa because since the creation of this contraption by lugard and Co. Am not sure that a core Hausa man has ruled this shithole.
You are an independent thinker but you don't know that you are a slave.
You are an independent thinker but your thoughts are being manipulate and manufactured by, whatever junk lie Mohammad and asorock fed you clap for yourself.
IPOB is annoying to you because they are championing for the freedom of the oppressed people which you don't want because, in your feeble mind what a white man (lugard) created is supreme than what a black man (Nnamdi Kanu) is trying to create/created.
IPOBs are miscreants but they are tormenting you and your beloved country nigger-area
