If OPEC announced today that a Barrel of crude is now one dollar, I bet you all, in less than 48 hours APC will split. |
nagoma: Nothing personal - just an assessment of a so called democratically elected president by a citizen.Where was your righteous voice when Turai Yar adua held Aso rock hostage for months? Muslims need pig bullet on their hypocrite Brain. Mallam is after mallam own interest and I believe Tinubu wouldn't wanna go same route as Abiola. El rufai that was pardoned by GEJ leadership after fleeing the country for fear of his life. I doubt he will run his mouth like that in Nigeria if Turai is still in power. Dude is an opportunist and he is no different from GEJ and other inept politicians |
St_Black: Katz & Omonaakoda, PLS lets ignore that troll. Lets put him in d right place like an animal before he derails the whole thing.Midget, I am just explaining to your lazy brothers why Lagos is investors hub and not because of Hooligans that made up the indigenous population. |
0monnakoda: My Friend Asuquo has a problem pronouncinh J . At this Yuncture he would say "Jou are making Yest of Jourself"My friend bunmi can not say sunlight and calls it chunlight.... ![]() |
0monnakoda: I think he means comparative advantageAn advantage that a firm has over its competitors, allowing it to generate greater sales or margins and/or retain more customers than its competition. There can be many types of competitive advantages including the firm's cost structure, product offerings, distribution network and customer support |
Katsumoto: Where did you go to school you doofus?I believe your education was obtained for free. I didn't attend one of those your universities that uses books published in 1972. If you are not too lazy, google will be of help to you |
Katsumoto: Mr EducatedLet me stoop to your level to explain it in pigin English. E mean say wen a company for lagos fit produce goods cheaper than a company in Aba wen dey produce same goods. The company for lagos get easy access to imported materials to produce e goods while the company for Aba go transport e goods from lagos which cost much and then add the operation cost on finish goods. I hope you dig? ![]() |
South Westerners claim to be educated yet they know nothing about competitive advantage (Lagos). Infrastructures used in Lagos and Abuja by most Nigerians are own by federal and private entities. I use third mainland bridge to Lekki and Victoria Island straight from the federal International Airport. |
geeez: The man responsible for the developments in today's Western NigeriaWhy are Yoruba holding claims to Lagos and not Kwara, Ibadan and Abeokuta? Why riding on people's glory? |
Those people cursing this marriage are borderline re.tar.d. inter tribal marriage has been going on in Nigeria for 100 years plus. Mocking each other on NL doea not mean that there is hatred. My best friends are Yorubas, we mock each other but support each other. I only come to NL to crack jock and only a re.tard will take my joke seriously. Give those Igbo girls the opportunity they will marry Yerima provided he can pay their bride prices. My people are money conscious. |
I thought it was gifted intelligence that made so many Nigerians in Nigeria wrote and pass their GRE and i never knew I was been fooled. I hope those that are in different MBA Programs here in states graduate after cheating their way through from Nigeria. I am glad the test centers were canceled. |
92 percent of South western youths are hoodlums, the remaining 8 percent are my friends ![]() I kid I kid I kid!!!! |
moshino: bootlegaz, Just in case you're still studying in a CSU, if possible, stay away from CSU Dominguez, instead stick to CSULA, Northridge, Long Beach or CalPoly Pomona, they have the highest standards in the CSU system, and highly regarded globally.Bro I didn't attend a cal state I only went there to take a required course upon graduation and beside that I have an MBA from a top tier university in Cali. I left school years ago. |
6weeks ago those same fugitives where on nairaland chastisizing Americans. I said it before; 98 perecent of Nigerians on NL badmouthing diaspora Nigerians are doing that outof envy. They are hypocrites and when given the opportunity they will do worse than those running band members. .....NL self made billionaire on my mind. ![]() |
moshino: CFCfan, It depends on which University in California you're referencing. If you attend any of the CSU schools, then all the grants you mentioned could cover your expenses. But if you're in UC schools, USC, Stanford etc, you could get all those grants and still need lots of cash to cover your expenses. Secondly, someone coming straight from Nigeria to study right away would not have met the residency requirement of California to qualify for the grants you mentioned, plus they'll be subject to out-of-state tuition, it could be massive for that first year. You are right. I took philosophy class in a cal state university and paid huge chunk for it, this was back in undergraduate studies. I have been a cali resident for 12years and counting yet I get to make some payment. |
iLUMeN8: Thanks man. Please do google search. I have a list but it is on a pdf file. Everything you nees is online. Just google minority scholarship programs in the united states. Some may ask proof of hardship, through letter. |
iLUMeN8: @babyosis and uzoemeka.I think you should apply through one of those black organizations in states. A friend got a full ride scholarship to Cornell which is an ivy league school |
CFCfan: Bro, I attended a State university here (a CSU), and I never had to pay out of pocket. The federal grants I received were over $2,000 per semester, while the State grant covered the rest of my tuition. On top of that, I also received some "pocket money" from the govt grants: the balance left after the grants had paid the tuition. In the Fall semester of 2012, I received $2,100 as left-over from the grants.I went to a UC and that's where I had my experience. I took classes in JC also and paid out of my pocket, they said I didn't qualify for financial aids.do you know that UC BERKELEY students were protesting school fees hike not too long? |
CFCfan: To an extent. In the uni, I was given state grants and federal grants. I also received some grants from the school itself. Yeah, if you are a California resident, there is a high probability of your tuition being essentially free.I received financial aid, pell grants and calgrants yet paid huge chunk also. I am an American citizen, If its that easy how come a whole lot of white, asian and hispanic americans work in placea like subway, starbucks and then attend college part time? You still have to pay bro. |
InvertedHammer: Easier said than done. You said Brits. OK. Until you meet a Nigerian using hammer and chisel to carve English, then you willYou are right but this does not exist in professional job settings though. I witness same when I was working menial job while in college. |
babyosisi: Did someone say tuition is free in California for residents? It is not true. You get Calgrants which does not cover everything. |
cogicero: Thanks Babyosisi.Google is your best bet. I see articles on such here and there on yahoo news and on forbes magazine. Seeking diversity does not mean you won't pay your fees. A whole lot if naijas skip school after arrival, which put dents on naijas in Nigeria. I think for one to embark on such journey to states, one has to be financially capable of sustaining themselves for a year . |
davidylan: 1. You're quite ignorant - you havent had malaria since you came to the US because the parasite does not exist here. I bet you the americans wished they could live in Naija so they can avoid lime disease which is much worse. You paid that much for hospital because you were undocumented and making minimum wage. |
akwunomy: The only person that can tell you to or discredit the good ol US is someone who is not raised in Naija. I still believe in Naija but let tell ourselves the truth...no matter the socio-economic problem the USA is experiencing, the USA is 99 times better than Nigeria. Be sincere and google the average life expectancy of an average Nigerian. I keep hearing people i know dying in their 30s and you say that is normal. Before i arrived here, i suffered from malaria/typhoid almost every month...my body became a testing ground for all kinds of malaria drugs. I went to hospitals and different labs, still i could not control simple malarial. I have been here more than two years. Two years of malaria free life...no continuous head ache....my eyes is pure white...not yellow and some odd colors. I have dental appointed two times in year...and at least i visited the doctor two times a year for check up...i mean i have an appointment with the doctor and discuss my health needs. Do i need to talk about food or the 24/7 steady electricity...so i am a little confused whenever i came here and see all these negative comparison about American and Nigeria. The only good comparison is Nigeria and Ghana to be candid. Do you want to talk abut a government that does not value education....California State government pays for the tuition of all resident of California who are in college. The federal govt gives aid totally about 5500 dollars to encourage students. Do you wanna talk about equipment in the school for learning...you have free computer to do your work and research and free internet service. They school pays a tutor to help you on any subject you don't understand. So America is still good and if any of you have the opportunity to come over here...the sky will surely be your limit if you work hard and open your eyes for opportunities.Dude you said it all. Back in college, I had a tutor that was paid for by the government. Common stuff like body spray is a treasure in naija, visit a club in Abuja and you will be forced to have your own table cos of the bad body odour from both genders. |
Harwo: @OP pls ma I just bagged a masters degree in Phytomedicines (alternative and complementary medicine) and already planning on moving to US. What are my chances of getting a job while studying for Phd. Thanks. You may not be able to bag your dream job right away. Your professor may make you a teaching assistant if he also lectures undergraduate or masters students. After PHD it is likely that your college may retain you as an assistant professor before moving you up the ladder. You have a better chance than those that studied sociology, art or communication. |
CFCfan: Ogugua88 is certainly a pretty babe, I've seen others in Los Angeles too.I know a whole lot of naija LA babes, they kidnap ugly and are not well behaved. I have juggled both coast and will confidently tell you that east coast has more attractive naija girls than west. |
CFCfan: Hmmm. I'm not sure about that.Where are the beautiful naija babes in west coast? I aint talking those artificial ones or big stomach girls. |
davidylan: My brother, if those chics are 50% as smart as babyosisi then my life is made for good. May God bless my hustle. Oya babyosisi i am not joking oh. Infact let me carry this convo offline.I have been to a wedding in New Jersey, I think east coast got more beautiful naija babes than west coast. Why not try Houston, umu'asa are a whole lot out there |
Afam4eva: But you were advising black people not to go into Technology cos in your warped mind, it's reserved for the whites cos they're better than blacks in technology. I think that's the assertion of an ignorant person(no offense). The whites may have a higher chance of being hired in the field and it can never be because they're more knowledgeable than blacks but could be for other reasons(racism etc).Stop replying that dimwit. He maybe a CNA that works 12hours shift a day, 6days a week. I don't associate myself with clowns with red nose. I think you should give him a clown cake ![]() |
givic: My dear the best thing that can ever happeen to a man is accomplishing his or her 'dreamz'Dreams can never be accomplished. They are like wants, it can never be satisfied. |
ose_o: Very good point about people moving with the wrong perception. When i came home i knew it would not be easy to get a job because of my background however i weighed my options and being close to family meant more to me than anything else.I wonder how you deal with lazy staff and dishonest clients in naija? I am not in for such headache. |

. Do you have any hints on states / towns that I can consider for fall-backs just in case I don't get into the schools I actually want to? I was told there are some areas in the US that seek diversity so they are usually more eager to admit international students plus more likely to give them funding. If you tell me such states / towns I will search for programs there. Thanks
