[center]Fantasy League Chief Regulator proposes consolidation measures[/center]

As part of sweeping reforms designed to ensure capital-adequacy in the fantasy league sector, FPL chief regulator Ibime Tamuno has proposed the consolidation of the fantasy league into 50 teams that will be capitalised enough to meet their fans deposits.

A memo leaked to Saharareporters states that Ibime Tamuno is particularly worried about the poor performance of Debosky FC and Chamo Athletic. As a result, he has proposed a cut-off point which will be effected as of January 1st 2010. Any team which is not in the top 50 by said date will have their FPL licence withdrawn. As a result of this measure, officials from the Mergers and Acquisitions Commission have issued an edict to the proprietors of Debosky FC and Chamo Athletic to prepare due dilligence on each other with view to a forced merger by January 2010. This merger will aggregate both teams fantasy scores and allow both teams to pass the consolidation excercise. It is thought that the new legal entity will be named Chamdebo Athletic.

Some anti-consolidation forces have accused the Chief Regulator of having a South-South agenda, considering the fact that all four South-South teams – MEND FC, Abonnema Utd, Team Roc and Squode FC - are safely esconsced within the top-50 range. However, it is pertinent to note that Tamuno’s traducers all lie in the bottom third of the table and are at risk of losing their licence during the consolidation exercise.

Finally, respected FPL proprietor Jefferson Jnr of BoRat FC has come out in support of Tamuno’s consolidation exercise, stating that not only is BoRat FC working toward establishing their position in the top 50, but they are working toward their Vision 2010, to establish BoRat FC in the top-10 by the cut-off date of 1st January 2010.
