i checked that dish & noticed the ring cover at the center of the dish had fallen. i coupled it & to my surprise,2M jumped to 66% without doing the east biasing. i'm sure it could have been higher if i had done those little adjustments. you probably should fine tune from your end & see the improvements.

just to chip in on the issue of the best lnb for fringe signal, a friend at ibadan confirmed his 3m fibre is working fine with a certain' SANTEC' lnb.so i just feel its just a matter of using what you know will work for you. having a store of lnb & testing them one by one wouldn't be such a bad idea!!!

i remember when i first came to this forum,with a rush of blood,i wanted to know 'everything' at once.i got damning comments from some members who weren't too comfortable with my overzealousness,but i took those stuffs in my stride,made adjustments where necessary,took my time to research things instead of running here every second & with the help of some good members here,things were becoming clearer. Now,the point is, like george said,we can't simply abandon this thread because we feel less concerned about events on this thread or because of the infiltration by lazy newcomers. Either way,we should always remember we all had gained so much from this place.so no matter how busy or angry we are,let us strive to show our face & drop meaningful tit bits here. newcomers,pls,desist from posting keys on public forums,asking chicken questions & causing disaffection in this fta family. otherwise,you may soon find yourself asking questions & only you answering them!!!

i hate to do this but i can't help but say some peeps just don't have good reasoning.or how else do we explain the fact that the last 5 pages of this thread have been soiled with funny request & shameful display of what is quite 'illegal'.why then do we have the google group? or are we forgetting that this particular nairaland thread is one of the most monitored tv forum by paytv operators? my candid advice:: if olofofo hasn't granted your request into the g-group or you simply are not interested,be decent enough to pick up your phone & discuss these 'stuffs' off-air instead of littering this space like some desperate bunch of illiterates.if anyone feels offended by this piece,i 'm sorry to say i've no apologies!!!.

need help in tracking CRTV and Gtv on Astra 2b,i got the rest thru blind scan but can't nail these channels,i've tried tp.12522 v 19531 but no results, plz

i don't know what you mean by the rest,but if you mean can't get crtv,gtv & lmtv but can get the multitv bouquet,then you would have to go back to your dish,use 12599 v 3251,make sure your lnb is okay,re-align your dish,tweakle the lnb until the crtv tp hits above 80percent.if not gtv &lmtv may not show after blind scanning.

i have finally dropped my white elephant project of that 5.6m fibre.i have settled for a 2.4m fibre dish fully moulded at least for the short term.the dish is resting presently at my backyard awaiting judgement.i have put together a 'fantastic four 'comprising myself,2 senior installer friends & my younger brother(who is due to be back with me from school anytime from now). Neck,scalar ring,lnb & mounting pole are all ready.As soon as the team is ready & logistics taken care of,the installation should go ahead.
Venue: omole phase2,ikeja.
I hope to use this as an occasion to mark 7years of owning a 1.8mpan dish.

today,i ran into man at obalende who had a complete 5.4m(yes,believe it,5.4m)fibre dish.the dish was fixed & brought down nilesat,ew3a,w4,& astra2b at the same time with signal quality in safe zones.ì believe this is some kind of a new innovation.i'm sure the man doesn't belong to this forum.although he was very reluctant to go further in details about the dish,he promised to help me get another one if am ready to pay the sum. i think i might have to ditch the 2.6m i intended &start saving for that'monster'. woww, you need to see that dish.

@all, hey guys! crtv has announced up to 50 channels on its bouquet and it's free for life!, but the unfortunate thing is that their decoder is not here in lagos. does anyone have the tp of the bouqet. at least if strong reciever can pick up their existing broadcast it should be able to pick the rest.

for your info,that advert clearly states the 50 channels could be watched for a one-off payment of 250ghc.that advert has been scrolling for weeks now.

On the question of what happens to FTA in the wake of the new EPLTV RIGHTS::

A few number of africa's fta channels have also struck a new deal with right owners which gives them the exclusive rights to screen all the'BIG FOUR MATCHES' live for the 2010/11 football season. this is in sync with the sole deal the MBC(MAURITIUS) brokered with french sports tv giant,CANAL+ SPORT for the 2009/2010 season.

so,dstv's acquisition of the 100% tv right in sub-saharan africa wouldn't affect how fta channels cut their own deals in that region. NO SHAKING!!!

there is really no need for you to get all worked up.even if some guys want to 'upgrade an mpeg2 box to a hd box' after all advices against such things,all we can do is just watch & let them do their'thing'.No need to heat up the polity.

your problem with gtv isn't uncommon. just go back to your setup & with your lnb at 4'0clock,make sure CRTV is hitting 88%above.then input the correct gtv tp.the green should be waiting there for you!!
