@seunoluomo
90cm(not the 85cm they sell as 90cm)dish is 2500,'69x is 15,300 at the satelite shop directly at d frontage of alaba market(uba axis)
'69x is still going to drop lesser than that with time

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Get Your Star Tv Decoder And Watch 40 Cable Channels by borderline(m): 7:12am On Jun 06, 2010
@malix
the way you are going about this thing.,you are gradually turning this thread into a 'small oshodi/alaba startv market'. take it easy man & let those peeps decide themselves.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by borderline(m): 10:35pm On Jun 04, 2010
@jaki
since u know a dedicated thread exists where you can get all the info you need on mbc,why dont you just do the right thing,take a click to that thread &avoid the distress of tracking with a tp you aren't sure of.honestly,it would do you no harm.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by borderline(m): 6:13am On Jun 03, 2010
@jaki006
predictably,questions on how to track w3a were going to be pouring from you but you need to understand not too many people here would fancy replying those query as w3a has been extensively treated throughout this thread.read the ew3a thread & would find better joy there.

to say this forum has missed your incisive posts in the past few days would be an understatement.but thank God you are back!!. with the w/cup frenzy all over the place,threats of encryption from minority stations & the inevitable bad weather-signal drop,you would agree with me these are the times we need best hands(like yours) ever closer!!
good to have you back brother.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by borderline(m): 9:31am On May 31, 2010
@all
i just noticed that the ring covering the open space in the pics attached just fell off.i just want  to know if that gap wouldnt result in any signal drop in my setup .
in btw,sabc 1-3 cant hold up us to ransom if they decide to encrypt.many satelite tv stations would still give us the full coverage.infact, i have lost count of the stations that have promised to beam all the matches non stop!!! cheesy

@George D

Think we should be the closest pal now , checked a few of your setup pictures and i think its very informative. Now am set to start installing my 2.4m mesh dish. maybe it will be nice of you to point me to any page with step by step information on how to , Think i can get the dish on the pole right( will not mind any help thou). Think i need more help in programming the jack and stations. And maybe a complete list of Bird i can get on the Di-electric and the one without , so as to make it easier.

Thank you for your help Bro, Just don't want to be a too know( this will be my first motorized dish).

@All

Any help from the crew will be appreciated , Thank you all for keeping this home warm. And again I need information on the HD or Mpeg4 stations too and what i need to hook on to them with my 2.4m mesh. Nice to be back

justx24
for your basic tutorials on motorised dish,read up these childboard links

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-442760.0.html#msg6024123
as for the mpeg4 boxes,if you really want to continue enjoying fta,you should get yourself an mpeg4 reciever cos in the long run,almost all the fta stations would migrate to mpeg4 broadcast. there a few number of them around notably the strong 4669x,daarsat kaeon &you could also contact olofofo for the wiztech mpeg4 box.
finally,the issue of HD boxes in these part of the world is like hatching your egg before its ripe. supersport HD is the only substantial station broadcasting on hd in africa & they are currently doing that in SA for now.worst still,if you dont have an HD tv,you cant use an HD box on just any other tv.
so before you cough out your money on expensive hd boxes, consider the demerits.meanwhile,the daarsat kaeon box is cheap,&both mpeg4 & HD compliant.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Get Your Star Tv Decoder And Watch 40 Cable Channels by borderline(m): 6:16am On May 27, 2010
caution &patience is required in this startimes drama. the last time i was at alaba, one of the agents at the frontage told me he was fixing some problem on this 'plug n play'box.my advice to all is that we should wait a little while &see if those chinese guys would stand their ground.why don't you save your hard-earned money before you go the way of daarsat customers.
like george said,if it isn't fta,then it is nothing!!!

save some money for at least a 1.8m motorised dish & save yourself the trouble of littering your house with dishes.

this doesn't any sense at all.daarsat hd box's craze? after how many years.there isn't any new thing about them.if anybody ever told you otherwise,then such one has got something fishy up his sleeves. lets drop this unnecesary uproar.

if that startv box isn't up to date in terms of mpeg4 technology & isn't fta flexible &compliant ,then it is a load of rubbish & i would rather spend the 10k on more interesting stuffs!!!
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Motorising Big Dishes (1.8meters And Above) by borderline(m): 9:18pm On May 08, 2010
lets also add that the lower the satelite you want to track depends on the length(in inches)of the actuator.

i carried out a check on my 1.8 setup to fix the low signal wahala.it was quiet succesful. wit all the spiderweb cleared & re-adjustment done for both my supermax extended cband & 0.5db ku lnbs, sabc which was previously cracking jumped to a stable 50% while channel10 also increased to 47%. mbc pop up to 77% wit malagasy at 84%. 2m on arrayida tp bounced back wit 48% stable signal.in all,most of my c &ku signals have improved tremendously except for AIT'S ALAGBADO station that has refused to turn green at 48% even on 69x.
on top of it all,i just joined the league of alternative power supply with the acquisition of a 'small' inverter
so,with my setup back at its peak,i can watch my choice stations without power disruption!. cheers!
