I disagree. Nollywood is more of an expression of some people's personal biases than an interpretation of societal facts.

She knew she was going to work as a Maid.
She's now complaining because her employer was mean and strict.

Investing the 250,000 ++ she saved for Oman visa in Nigeria and transferring the Hard-work she put in Oman down here,
would have made her a Millionaire here in Nigeria, Probably with other persons in her employ.

A lesson learned, but she's alive and well and could have many other opportunities. (RIP to the 26 Nigerian Girls Buried in Italy today.)

We put in so much effort and hard work whenever we re out of the country, we obey the rules, Pay our Taxes and monthly Bills, We are sooo so disciplined. yet we don't do same back home in Nigeria

We should have a little more faith in our Country Nigeria

That last part of your post got to me like you have no idea. Outside the shores of Nigeria we are orderly, law abiding, contributing members of society. We come back home, to our own land, the land we will leave for our children and behave like total animals with no respect whatsoever for the law, the environment or other citizens. Never ceases to blow my mind.

no.. it said she sprayed his face with pepper spray she did it herself, that was b4 she died. he was stuffing her body on d street b4 he was caught. how could he have killed her or even thought of doing that on d street?? (his village people must be unto him) and to stab her 50times is d street that lonely......Well it confuses me to think about it.

I agree the story doesn't add up in the sequence it was told but for one, the writer didn't say everything happened in that order and two, the story can be rearranged to kind of make sense. Dude could have arrived with the bag and attacked her with the knife and she peppersprayed in defense but we all know pepper spray has nothing on a long knife. After having lost blood, she could have passed out (but was still alive) and he tried stuffing her in a suitcase at which point he was caught and she was rushed to a local hospital where she died. As for the lonely street, c'mon, even in Lagos here, we have streets that are that lonely.

I agree with the bolded. Drop ALL religious ones. Nigeria is a secular state so we have no business as a nation belonging to or signing treaties with any religious organization.

Homosexuality is an aberration and Bobrisky deserves our pity, our support and rehabilitation instead of a jail time.

That aside, I have done extensive research on Homo sexuality, and I realized that outside of Earth, there are Extra Terrestrial races of Beings, some highly spiritual, who prefer homosexuality to straight intercourse, some ETs races have up to 5 gender types which our 5 limited senses can not even begin to put into words. Yet some have both male and female gender on one body, even as some do not have sex to experience orgasm.

We must start to educate our politicians. Cos they are foolish an have misplaced their priorities.

People still don't get it.

the most incompetent and pathetic governor in nigeria is Ambode.
these one is not fit to rule, forget all the elephant project he's doing all in the name to embezzle money, during fashola era the world recognise Lagos as fast developing state and not just words but infrastructures and good policies, but what do we have now.

1.Lagos traffic

Heaven knows these is one of the hellish and most annoying thing Lagosian go through daily, all the road are either bad or being in the state of comatose for more than a year due to reconstructuring and slow executions of projects by hes croonics called contractors.

how do you explain the traffic on the island and mainland,u spend most of your time on traffic, you wonder what happen to the fear of lasma we have during fashola regime, all you see is danfo drivers picking and causing traffic in all bus stops.

2.Refuse

lagos has turn to what i called a bin,no street in lagos you will pass through where there will not be gabbages of rubbish in streets, highways etc,he he is clueless on managing waste that was going on fine during fashola era,Ambode gave expatriate to manage the waste in his state these can only be said of someone who is clueless.

3. Infrastructures.

forget all the Elephant project,Ambode is looting Lagos dry,no accountable on all the project in lagos,is either those projects are over budgeted or projected in a manner that one will wonder what's going on,remember Abule Egba bridge and Ojota pedestrian bridge this is just one of those project, and someone should tell him o stop buying generators to power those street,a sensible and visionary leaders envisage and solve problems that may arise in the future not buying generators to police and adding to global warming.

4.Education.

i have not seen anything in these area,Ambode still enjoy all the policies Fashola put into place, fashola build and renovated all the public schools and created some learning and research centres for children with special attributes, but ambode seems not to understand that Lagos populace needs more and viable world class education centres to meet up with the rest of the world.

Amdode has no idea to turn the education of the state around,go to some public school today it will suprise you that some don't have chairs they sit on floor to attends to lectures.

5.Electricity

someone should educate mr Ambode that the whole body of lagos is covered with water, and there is something they called Hydro thermal energy, these can generate more than 34,000 megawatts of electricity and he can sell to neighboring state and earn more money,he should stop buying generators to power all the street light in lagos, this is 2017 for heaven sake the arctic ice is melting, there is global warming he should meet professionals,a nuclear fusion reactors that can be easily shut down by water can serve the whole nation instead of waiting for the unfortunate people at the senate to pass a bill on devolutions of electricity bill that will never see the light of the day.

6.Employment

The lagos state govermnet website advertised some opening recently i will ask how many people was able to apply and get the job,he favored hes croonics, party cheiftance favored the meneber of hes church,no JOB is thrown at the masses,he recruited LASMA recently, where are they today, now neighborhood watch,he waste so much on unproductive projects, most of these projects also take eternity before execution.

Go to street of lagos all you see are hungry and angry youth roaming the street, cos no job which has already paved way to differnet crime in the state,he should come up with idea to employ the common man on the street not all these unproductive job that add nothing to the state.

7.Health.

lagos still don't have viable health scheme,go to our various hospital you will be amazed and cry for us as a nation's,no tools to work on,no word class health equipments you buy bed space, you pay for everything, annoying thing is they fly abroad if they have malaria, lagosian should be wise and these issues of God father has to stop, vote for a sensible and visionary leaders that will add value to your life.

Either you don't live in Lagos or you are just negative for negativity sake.

For the traffic; asides the fact that big, busy cities always have to contend with major traffic situations, the most serious traffic grid lock right now is caused by the tankers that regularly ply (and park on) Funsho Williams avenue on their way to A papa. Why are they there? Because the Federal government is currently working on their usual route (Oshodi-Apapa express) so for now, the trucks and trailers and tankers and containers have to use Funsho Williams avenue as an alternative route and anyone who lives in Lagos knows that is the state's central route for movement between the mainland and island (with third mainland bridge being the one alternative). These tankers and containers are even damaging the roads and bridges because they weren't made for taking those kind of weight regularly. If you should blame anyone, blame the Federal government for only now deciding to fix Oshodi-Apapa expressway.

Electricity? Are you kidding me? Since when has it been the state government's responsibility to generate electricity for the citizens of the state. Even if Am bode decides to start working on power generation for the people of Lagos state, you think it is something that would take thirty minutes to complete? The funny thing is that if he does, people like you would be the first to wail that it is a white elephant project.

Waste disposal? Don't even get me started on that one. Recently the state government came up with a streamlined waste disposal/management system. You know what people did? They kicked against it, calling it another way for government to take money from them. People have been trying to game waste disposal systems in this state since I can remember. The Lagos state government recently placed dumpsters on busy roads and at busy intersections around the state and you know what people are doing? They are walking long distances to dump their refuse in those dumpsters just to avoid paying for waste management to evacuate their refuse. It is not uncommon now to see someone dragging large sacks of refuse down a long stretch of road just so he/she can dump it in the state dumpsters for free and avoid paying for waste disposal. How is this the state government's fault? One just can't win with you guys!

Your point on infrastructures is so empty of substance that I won't even bother refuting it.

On education and health, I certainly agree that more needs to be done by the state government in both sectors. However, I also realize that improving current systems and infrastructure costs money and it's not like education and health services provision are the state government's only responsibilities. Regardless, I would charge the state government to make both high priorities as they are important to the life and well-being of the citizens of Lagos state.

Do you know how much waste those guys at the waterfront generate on a daily basis and dump into the lagoon, which eventually constitute environmental hazards and health challenges? Would you ask your child to live in a lagoon front shanty? Why then are championing for someone to live in ramshackle dwellings that constitute hazards, are unregulated and are at a high risk of total destruction with resultant loss of lives if a marine natural disaster occurs? If you want to champion something, champion a better way of doing things instead of asking that things continue to be done in the terrible way they've always been done.

First off, I have a pretty strong feeling these ones were paid to protest. Trust me, na only person wey chop belleful dey get energy make noise.

On the other hand, even if these aren't paid protesters, why are Nigerians such backward people, so resistant to positive change? Ban okada - protest; as if okada is used as a means of transportation in advanced countries. Ban roadside hawking - protest; even though they know that it poses a risk to their lives and health and occasionally people masquerade as hawkers to rob other people and perpetrate evil. Destroy illegal structures - protest; forgetting that these structures are in the way of the states master plan and in quite a few cases constitute environmental and physical hazards.

Look, if you want to remain backwards, go back to your village and remain backwards there. Don't come to a city and try to live unregulated village life. Funny thing is even if you move to your village, development will still come knocking at your doorstep so better just get with the program.
