By the way, I recently noticed this setting in the updater app. (SETTINGS>ABOUT PHONE>SYSTEM UPDATE>UPDATE SETTINGS).
I think it is safer for most people to leave it turned off.

Those that like flashing beta rom those days can turn it on.

That is a system update. Looks like you have it set to automatically download.
Go to settings, search for "update settings" and configure it as you wish.

The only thing I have done is activate dark mode. Go to settings and search for dark mode.

Aint using no theme. Just the default theme.
If you want to feel dark mode, go to settings, search for dark mode and enable it.

How about if you just respectfully state if you have tested on your android device if you have one. Also test on WhatsApp too.

To be fair that's how it works on all messaging apps, at least on all the different devices I have used so far. Not limited to MIUI only o.

And the feature is not there. I will test on other apps to confirm more widely.

So I learned something new today by chance.

Before now while using the text message app, I find it almost impossible to copy just a specific string of text in a text message. I was left with no choice but to copy the entire message, paste it in a notes app, delete the unwanted text and then copy the specific string I want.

This same problem exists in WhatsApp and other chat apps. You cannot easily copy a specific string of text from a message. You are left with no option but to copy the entire message.

Well long story short, in xiaomi messages app, you can select a specific string of text from a message. Here is how:

First double tap on the message,
Then you can select the specific string you want.

Another reason why I prefer the xiaomi messaging app to the messages app by Google.

The Chinese are taking over.

You know, I could have gone to court to prove that I turned off that recommendations setting before .

I suspect it gets turned back on when you update the app.
Even the Mandarin I see when I scroll down in the app has disappeared.

MIUI Ads appear on Xiaomi apps like music, video player etc it's easy to disable them follow the guidelines on this link

don't know if it is just me, I have done all that can be done but ads in xiaomi file manager refuse to stop. The only way I could stop ads in the file manager was to restrict it from accessing the internet. Same way I stopped ads on mx player.
I guess the ads feature is built into the xiaomi file manager just like mx player

If you have not already done so, call your network provider (MTN or glo or Airtel or Etisalat, etc) to block your phone number immediately. You can retrieve the line on Monday.

This is important to protect your bank account in case your phone number is tied to your bank account.

As for mi account, you can login into it from a browser and lock the phone.

In the end, everything will be okay. If it is not okay, it is not the end.

Me thinks this is good news. Less clutter on the download pages.
