Lexusgs430:Very good suggestion. But correct me if I'm wrong, I only see one person currently experiencing proximity sensor ish. |
bola4dprec:The difference is in the "note". Actually Note is the senior brother. |
One thing I hate is when an Indian starts their YouTube video with English and then proceed to spill Hindi all over the place. ![]() Another thing I hate is when my gps refuse to get a fix on my current position. ![]() |
adamix:Hmmmmm...... Hopefully this scenario will only occur a small percentage of the time. Although it can be very annoying whenever it happens. PS: I know generally that there is nothing that can't be corrected. Sometimes the solution may just be a very small tweak somewhere. |
MrGokay:Redmi 7 offcourse. Better specs, more modern, etc. |
adamix: omotolsy:The explanation from omotolsy seems plausible. MKBHD only commented on what he saw with his two korokoro eyes. Others too stated what they have seen with their own eyes. In the end, everybody is correct in one way or another. It may just be a software glitch that causes it to produce horrible pictures in some situations. That can be corrected in a firmware update. |
atheistandproud:Please use the more appropriate word: Advanced mid range. |
2kurupt:Okay......... Offcourse the mi band is expected to be on and on your wrist 24/7. I thought you meant that the display is on 24/7. Battery wise, my mi band 2 which is close to two years old still lasts 3 weeks plus. |
godspeed:It is so unfortunate. Such criticisms are greatly needed so that the phone manufacturers will sit up and see areas where they need to improve. I watched the MKBHD video in 1080p and all he said about the k20 pro unit he was reviewing are absolutely spot on. |
2kurupt:Okay nice..... You mean the MI band 4 display is on 24/7? |
I don't know what some of you are taking oh. Those selfie camera pictures of k20 pro MKBHD posted in that video are exactly as he described them. Guy was being damn honest. Many, if not most, agree that xiaomi need to upgrade their camera software. They really need to employ world class programmers! Their excellent hardware is greatly underutilized ![]() |
2kurupt:Looking gorgeous. Also drop feedback about the battery life. |
IKON360:On WhatsApp, you can restrict who posts on groups also.

Born2smile:GPS non-existent, Now noticing that Bluetooth connection is degraded. Cannot enjoy home theater or Bluetooth headphones if I move more than 1 meters from the speaker whereas Redmi go runs smoothly even from 10 meters. Who did I offend sef? ![]() |
So much unnecessary arguments on this thread.......................smh Somebody please help!!! I am facing the worst issue I ever faced in a phone. The gps in my rn7 doesn't work! Because of this, I can't use driving mode on Google maps or anything that needs gps location. I have done all I can think of: Tried all the suggestions from the internet http://en.miui.com/thread-5567417-1-1.html?fbclid=IwAR2YiUOyDPBXQO7701THhA5tR5hZ1Gj3cl-xmJp7prgSKBLA9onHqFA9nPY https://mobileinternist.com/redmi-note-7-problems#2 https://c.mi.com/thread-2232656-1-0.html Flashed the latest rom, Tinkered with various settings, Set the gps to high accuracy, etc nothing has worked. For all the good features that exists on this phone, such a basic feature as gps doesn't work! All evidence points to a software bug. Even my small redmi go has no issues whatsoever with gps. |
genius43:I'd say take that statement with a pinch of salt. Although plans can and do change along the way. |
Donkelzy:Thanks a mil. I wonder why it doesn't come up when I search for "sim" in settings........
|
jboixxx:No, not network lock. Simply put, I want to lock the sim to the phone such that if the sim is changed to another phone, it will require a pin code. |
How do you enable SIM lock on a xiaomi phone? I have searched for it in settings but cannot find it. Google search hasn't helped also. Somebody kindly assist. Genius43 et al. Thanks. |
macbeyland:The very same WhatsApp ![]() |
fibonacci2526:Been enjoying this launcher for a long time now. Every update comes with exciting new features. I doubt if other launchers will be able to keep up with Microsoft in this launcher race. |
bomking4x:For keyboard, you can always increase the size of the keyboard in the keyboard settings. If using Gboard, go to the Gboard settings>preferences>change keyboard height as desired. |
At this rate, we may soon have a rom for Nigeria. ![]() Afterall, to be the most populous black nation in the world is not beans. Everybody gets a rom.
|
atheistandproud:Well said..... Only thing I would add is that one should always think about the software when comparing phones. A bad or buggy software can easily cancel out the benefits of good hardware. That's where some OEMs shine better than others. |
iamNegro:Traffic reading is not dependent on the gps. You only need an internet connection for that. If all your Google play apps, system apps and device firmware are up to date, you have not tinkered with your device network settings and you test when you are outdoors in an open place, you should get a successful message. If not, it means somebody's got a bug to fix. |
iamNegro:Well......... I would really appreciate seeing your successful screenshot. While you are preferably out doors with a clear sky, type *#*#6484#*#* on your dial pad, Scroll down and tap on gps to start the test. Wait for about a minute or two for the test to complete, Take a screenshot and let's see. If possible, you can crop the top half of the screenshot. Anything short of a successful screenshot will not hold water in court ![]() |
iamNegro:Great, could you post a screenshot of the results? I want to see what it shows when it is successful. Thanks. |
So I noticed some days back that gps was not working as expected in my rn7. It takes ages, if at all, to zero in on my position. Google maps was practically unusable. Driving mode was not possible because gps signal was not functioning or was very poor (always saying gps signal lost). Gps test using *#*#6484#*#* is never successful. I spent a couple of days trying to figure out the problem. Came across this thread on mi forum https://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=5567417&extra=page%3D1&page=1&mobile=2 Very weird solution if you ask me. And this thread on xda https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-7/help/gps-issue-t3902512/page1 After doing some further digging in the above threads and other sources, I was able to improve it a little by changing a setting I had changed before. Apparently, if you have used *#*#4636#*#* to change the network setting of your second sim to GSM only, maybe to save some battery life, this affects the gps performance. Also, there have been some System apps updates pushed by xiaomi which I ignored and refused to install. If these were meant to fix some of these issues, I missed the opportunity to install them. Now when I go to the system apps updater to check for these updates again, they are not there. Currently, my gps performance has improved but it is nowhere near the efficiency I got in my r5plus. I will continue to probe for a solution and avoid any "surgical" solutions such as factory reset or flashing a new rom. Any suggestions from you guys will be appreciated. Also, if you are using RN7, kindly test your gps on Google maps or using *#*#6484#*#* to be sure everything is working as expected. My advice: (1)if you are using rn7 and your gps signal is working efficiently especially in Google maps, don't change network settings in your sim using *#*#4636#*#* as this might break something else (2) keep your OS/MIUI and system apps up to date. The updates do actually fix bugs, some of which you may not have come in contact with yet.
|
kingkayz:Thanks but Nah......... I don't want to install anything. I have too many apps already |
Anybody know any trick to play YouTube videos in the background? Google has found a way around the split screen trick. |
genius43:If I agree to sell to you but refuse to buy anything from you, who wins? ![]() |
