Childish .....Sophie forever has all her legs in Davido's house and heart for life if you doubt ....ask 2baba undecided In about 14 years time to come, Davido will be the one begging her! People don't even understand the psychology of love and having a child for someone. He's forever trapped.
don't compare Annie and Tu baba to sophia and davido. Davido never treated sophia the way tubaba treated Annie nor the way davido is treating chioma.... she will remain a baby mama like pero ( tubaba first baby mama etc ) also having a child for a man doesn't mean he will fluant you everywhere , love is what does that.

OgaInnocent:
I was prompted to script this piece when I read yesterday from the comment of certain moniker here called amarabae, that the problem the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) put themselves is being orchestrated by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA /Doctors) .
#(screenshot below) #

Inasmuch as the veracity of such claim by such an anonymous online user remains inconsequential, I still wish to educate the unsuspecting public on certain things of paramount and topical significance.

Before I continue, I thought it worthwhile to introduce myself, so that you take cognizance of my biases, if any. I am NOT a medical doctor, at least for now, thus, suffer not yourself in trying to tag this as "espirit des corps" game.

Now, it is no longer news that JoHESu is on strike for reasons bordering on salary and hospital hierarchy.
The news is here:
... https://www.nairaland.com/4456282/federal-health-workers-under-umbrella/3#66805229

ON SALARY:

I wouldn't comment on that because that is the business of the the govt. But let it be on record that if someone should complain of salary, it is the doctors. Nigerian Doctors cannot talk in the presence of their colleagues practicing abroad. They are the most underpaid persons with relation to the value offered. You can imagine the amount Canadian doctors are paid that made them to protest last time. An average consultant doctor in canada receives about 500,000 (about 180 million naira) dollars yearly. A consultant in nigeria is struggling with 10million naira yearly. Hence the reason 90% of Nigerian doctors are jetting out of the country, with many on the way out also. Even the few that are staying, are doing so, due to some supplementation coming from private practice. Otherwise, with the rate at which other countries are ready to issue visa to doctors, Nigeria may soon run out of doctors.
The truth is everyone needs a salary increase because cost of goods have increased, starting from teachers. However, the issue of salary still remains their business with the govt, but note that if your salary is increased to that of a doctor, the doctors will seek their own increase. It is natural to act that way.

ON HOSPITAL HIERARCHY

I heard they want to be given consultant nurse, consultant physiotherapist, consultant Med Lab Scientist etc.

People need to understand something. The hospital is structured in such a way that every treatment /instruction must be directed from the Consultant Physician or Consultant Surgeon. No patient receives anything in the hospital unless the doctor says so. The reason is not far-fetched. It is in the best interest of the patient, so that he/she is not malhandled. Imagine when we introduce a consultant nurse, a doctor will give his own instructions and the nurse will also like to execute his own consultancy expertise by giving his own instructions, at the end, the patient, is at the receiving end. The practice is that the doctor is and must be the head of the patient management team.

Most nurses are clamoring for consultancy because of the knowledge they acquire by virtue of working in hospital for years. They feel they can now challenge the doctor.

I will give an analogy: In Catholic church, we have the parish priest, we have the catechist. By virtue of working at the alter for about 10years, the catechist can comfortably celebrate the mass. Infact he can even celebrate more than the priest if given opportunity. He can also be more prayerful than the priest. But no matter the condition, the catechist can never celebrate mass or be equated to the priest simply because he can do what the priest can do if given the opportunity. There is formal way of becoming a priest, and it is open to everyone, thus, if the catechist wishes to be celebrating mass, he should simply enroll into the seminary, and boom, he becomes a priest. That is the formality.

Nurse vs Nurse Dichotomy

There are two types of nurses, we have those that attended school of nursing(Registered Nurse. RN). we also have those that are studying nursing in university (B. Sc). The truth is that the BSc holders are paid far higher than the RN holders. Why is it so? In terms of work, I need not tell you that, the RN holders are the ones that do the major suffering in the hospital, and JOHESu will not harmonize their salaries so that all nurses are paid parallel amount. But they want to be paid what doctors (mbbs) are paid. That's hypocrisy.

Medical Laboratory Scientists vs Medical Laboratory Technology

The way Medical lab scientist (Bsc) discriminate against the Med lab technologist (HND) is another case study. You and I know that those polytechnic guys are more practical oriented and cannot be equated with university counterparts. But yet, the Bsc holders still lord it over the HND holders. They claim superiority over them, and yet want equality with doctors. Another hypocrisy.

Med Lab Scientist vs Microbiologist.

I happened to study microbiology in my first degree. As a microbiologist, you cannot have a lab on your own. You must work under a med lab Scientist. Even when the knowledge base is the same among the two disciplines.

Last time on Facebook I saw some graduates of med lab from ABSU hanging stethoscope on their neck, calling themselves diagnostic doctors. Thats so laughable. And that has been the delusion that has been making them think they are equal with doctors. That you can see bacteria in urine in the lab does not make you diagnose a patient of infection. A doctor makes 95% of the diagnosis from history and physical examination, just right in the consultation room. The lab tests are to confirm diagnosis and also check for the other systems that the patient may not be complaining of. Also every med lab Scientist works under a Consultant Chemical pathologist, consultant micro biologist, consultant Histopathologist, or Consultant hematologist as the case may be.

The Way OUT

The truth is that, there should not be the need for all these fracas if everyone remains to his job description and prescription. There is already a job description for doctors, nurses, med lab Scientists etc. If you are not comfortable with the job you do, you can switch and follow the formality laid out for that profession. There shouldn't be need for being a nurse and wanting to do the job of a doctor, or being a doctor and wanting to do the job of a nurse.
A doctor needs a nurse, a nurse needs a doctor, a med lab Scientist needs a doctor and vice versa.

In addition to that, every job has a salary scale, most times the salary does not justify the work they do, but only justifies the time and process it took to get there. The people that take the highest salaries in Nigeria are the people that do nothing. They only go to offices to enjoy the AC and go home at the end of the day. When the month ends, they collect millions. Its unfortunate society has made it that way. Let us have a rethink, and be human. Everyone needs salary increase, starting from teachers to doctors to JOHESU (except our senators ***winks***). The problem is getting it right at the electoral polls.

sscripturas@gmail.com
thanks for the good write up.. this is the best period JOHESU has to achieve its demands.our current set of leaders are nothing to write home about. If JOHESU doesn't achieve its demands in this era of leaders, I doubt it will ever get the same salary as the doctor, because the salary of doctors and other health workers is not same in other parts of the world.... fight only a just course not the one that is senseless and baseless.... How many JOHESU members died of lassa or ebola, it has been majorly doctors yet, even the engineer with the generator and the record staff who may not even meet the patient wants to be paid same salary as the doctor.. its just senseless

×Consultancy in Pharmacy is not a Nigerian invention, is practice all over civilized nations and doctors don't feel threatened.
why not choose another title , must it be "consultant". they could use expert or whatever. It'inferiority complex if you ask me!!

FamilyRe: Know The Compatibility Of Your Rhesus Factor As Well Before Marriage. by bornolowu(m): 7:15am On Feb 19, 2018
chrisxxx:
Rhesus Factor is an antigen that exists on the surface of red blood cells in most people (about 85% of humans). It is also referred to as Rh Factor. People who have the Rh have “positive” (+) blood types, such as A+, O+ or B+ are said to be rhesus Factor positive, while those who have the Rh “negative” (-) blood types, such as A–, O– or AB– are said to be rhesus factor negative . The “+” and “-” in front of the blood group is the Rhesus factor. Generally, we have A+, A–, B+, B–, AB+, AB–, O+ and O–. Rhesus factor is genetic in nature. It is inherited from the parents, emphatically the father.

How does Rhesus Factor cause miscarriage?

If a Rh– woman is impregnated by a man with Rh–, there wouldn’t be any problem. However, if a Rh– woman is impregnated by a man with Rh+, there would be a problem if the baby inherits Rh+ from the father . We have here what is medically called Rhesus Factor Incompatibility. The baby would obviously be Rh+. During child birth, once the baby’s Rh+ comes in contact with the woman Rh- during delivery, the antibodies are immediately activated by the woman’s body’s immune system.

The activated antibodies would see the new Rh+ as foreign body or a threat and consequently they would be at alert to attack and get rid of the foreign body. Unfortunately as such, after this particular child birth, the woman would keep having miscarriages because the activated antibodies would see subsequent Rh+ pregnancies as foreign bodies and would keep fighting and taking them off.

Women with Rh activated antibodies are said to be Rh sensitized and once these antibodies are activated , they can never be deactivated until the woman dies. Rh induced antibodies are activated in a Rh- woman by child birth, abortion, miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy.

If a Rh– woman commits an abortion for a Rh+ man and the antibodies are activated in her system, the woman might end up childless throughout her life except if she later marries another man with with the same Rh–. The possibility of a Rh– woman finding a Rh– man is slim as about 85% of human beings are Rh+. This is a warning to our young girls who commits abortions all in the name of boyfriend-girlfriend relationships.

If you’re a woman with Rh– and your fiance is Rh+, and you haven’t committed abortion for him and you don’t want to leave him, then, you need to take note of the following:

In order to prevent the activation of the antibodies, doctors would give women in this category an injection called Rhogam during and after pregnancy to prevent spontaneous abortion due to Rhesus factor incompatibility. The injection is normally administered 28 weeks into pregnancy, 72 hours after delivery, after ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage or abortion. If the injection is not administered and the antibodies are activated, they would never be deactivated again!

In many African cultures up till today, women who are so unfortunate to find themselves having serial spontaneous abortions due to Rhesus factor incompatibility are considered witches by some of their people. Some of the women would accuse their in-laws of being behind their predicament.

So, if you’re a woman with Rh– , you need to be very careful. It might be difficult for you to get a husband with a Rh– because about 85% of human beings are Rh+. So, in order not to find yourself in the aforementioned problem, put all that have been said at the back of your mind and go for genetic counselling. If you have a daughter or a sister with Rh–, counsel them on Rhesus Factor Incompatibility and the dangers lying therein.

It should also be noted that a Rh– person(man or woman) cannot receive blood donation from a Rh+ person even if they have the same blood group. The consequence of such blood transfusion is fatal. It would lead to death as the blood would clot. This is due to the incompatibility in their Rhesus factor.

this is a very important topic... front page as soon as possible. Let me add for those that will read only comment . Having an abortion is enough to sensitise the young girl who is rhesus negative if the man Is a positive as most times, the blood of the abortus mixes with that of the mother sensitising her. So that in subsequent pregnacies if she gets married to an RH positive man miscarriages will continue all the days of the woman's life as explained by the write up (except she changes husband).... our bad sharp girls please take note of this before the next abortion!!!! [quote author=Shukusheka post=65140860]It depends on the kind of spiritual beings/powers you will find in each water.

Lakes have always been the ancestral home of ogbanje (spirit child aka Abiku). History has it our forefathers when in desperate need of a child would seek help from the goddess of the lake.

Rivers According to science, a river is a natural flowing watercourse usually freshwater, flowing into an ocean, sea or a lake. What this portends is that you will find similar spiritual beings in the sea and in the river. It is a long known fact that fresh Mammywaters have always been the one ruling the river world, they have an empire running there. Little wonder River state is the state with the highest number of mammywaters in the world and even the popular but late Queen of the coast Joanne Rivers was believed to have traced her ancestry to the cursed city.

Stream A stream is the scouting center for all marine spirits roaming the earth, it is the water with the highest recorded number of deaths worldwide and these deaths can be easily traced to the handiwork of spirits in the marine realm. Marine scouts have a knack for visiting the streams for potential talents who they eventually drown, transport the spirit of the drowned victim to the underworld, train and later release to the world as ogbanjes.

A serving male corper who graduated from the university of Abuja died today being 15th of frebruary, 2017.

Based on report reaching 9jaflaver news team, Usman Aliu who was down with typhoid and malaria was issued the wrong injection in a hospital located at Kubwa, Abuja which blocked his intestine making it difficult for him to feed normally, instead he fed through the nose, when the doctors realised that the medication was getting out of their hands they transfered him to specialist teaching hospital located at gwagwalada, Abuja where he later died

lozz and RIP . I can't help but laugh @ the level of ignorance in our society and among so called bloggers..he could not have died from a doctor blocking his intestine( with paper or towel? ). If the intestine was blocked why will he be feeding with The Nosegastric tube? Intestinal obstruction, perforated typhiod ileatis, Steven johnson syndrome but I doubt this as the blogger would have reported how the skin looked..please disregard the info here..our doctors are one of the best in the world despite the poor conditions they work with.. pls seek doctors consultation instead of relying on a chemist that tells you its malaria or typhiod . RIP again!!

One wonders whether this gentleman has been misdiagnosed with skin cancer, given the extreme rarity of that affliction in the black race.
It is not possible that he is misdiagnosed . .. skin cancer yes rare in blacks but is common relatively in light skin individuals.. go to a dermatology clinic and you will see many.. and don't you think the doctors know that skin cancer is rare in blacks..please stop dishing half knowledge!!

Just name one thing? Or is it because were hypocritical? The girl who gives a Mouth Gig on Saturday night would take front row in Choir on Sunday morning. That is why we are not as immoral?

There are so many countries not half as big as Nigeria with less than a quarter of our population but are faring better than us.

Forget the thing about population. It's pure consolation. Nothing more.
in the end my dear, what brought this is your talk on that nigerians are immoral but believe me, averagely speaking, immorality is more among Ghanians and SA than nigerians ... if you say we are corrupt I will agree but for immorality, we be learner for where them dey..bye bye again..Get ur PVC too
NYSCRe: Enugu State Increases Corpers Allowance To N30,000 & N20,000 For Doctors, Others by bornolowu(m): 6:44pm On Feb 14, 2018
[quote author=lilkudos post=65065701]Enugu State Government has announced increase in the allowance for National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC ) members serving in primary healthcare facilities in rural areas in the state.

The Commissioner for Information, Mr Ogbuagu Anikwe, announced this in Enugu on Wednesday while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting.

Anikwe said that medical doctors serving in hospitals in rural areas would henceforth receive N30, 000 monthly from the state government as against N3, 800 being given to them currently.

Similarly, he said, pharmacists, nurses, radiographers, laboratory scientists and statisticians would receive a monthly stipend of N20, 000.

He announced that the government also planned to review the service condition and welfare of other set of corps members in the state.

The commissioner explained that the increase in allowances of the corps members serving in health facilities was to further ensure that health services were taken close to rural dwellers.

“The government has approved that each corps member selected to work as a medical doctor in government hospital in the rural areas will get a monthly stipend of N30, 000.

“All of these will cost the government extra N31.2 million per annum but it is an expense that is worth it. It is to ensure that health facilities are available at the door steps of our people,” he said.

Anikwe said that the government noted the challenges of getting medical personnel to work health facilities in rural communities and decided on the incentive.

According to him, the council decided that one sure way to solve the problem is to get health personnel from the NYSC who will be encouraged with an increased stipend.

The commissioner said that the state government had invested much in rural communities and would want such facilities to have direct impact on the inhabitants.

“Before now, Enugu had a peculiar problem because the state was paying a certain amount as allowance and it led to an influx of youth corps members from all over the country, wanting to serve here.

“It then became impossible for the state government to continue to sustain that stipend because we are not out of the woods yet.

“So, we are not unmindful of what to do for corps members but everything we are doing, we check our purse.

“I am sure that as the finances of the state government improves, we will come to a point where everybody is given an allowance that enables them cope with the condition of life in the country,” he said.

Anikwe said that the government was first looking at very critical sectors, adding that others would follow soon.

He said that the governor, Mr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, was passionate about making residents of the state competitive and healthy “and that is why his economic blueprint traversed the entire state”.

Also, Commissioner for Works, Mr Greg Nnaji, said that the state government had approved the renovation and upgrade of eight district hospitals across the state.

Nnaji said that the gesture was to reduce the pressure on secondary health facilities in the state and to ensure that residents did not have to travel to the state capital for medical attention.

Oya use your population to go and find work na.

Rubbish..

it's only idiots and fools of no basic reasoning that point to Nigeria's demography as an achievement. Over time our population has proved rather detrimental to us. We have all that population but can't even wield superiority in West Africa, not to talk of Africa. So of what use is "most populous black nation"? The stuff is more of a thing around our neck now.
It has given us the largest market, so every investor knows that one day, nigeria is the destination. It has given us human resources, we have a superior mentality ( for the sake of God SA and former liberian and Ghana president visited a. GOvernor. For God's sake.. unemployment is an issue everywhere in the world n..your mentality is the problem..if big brother, or multichoice are not making more money, i'm sure they will focus on BBSA or BBA instead of BBN all nations with population like nigeria struggle before they get it right however go get your PVC and vote out PMB and @ same time, please change your mentality... bye bye

But the countries you mentioned are far advanced than Nigeria. So your point doesn't count.

They may be immoral, but they are advanced.

We are immoral and backwards. Two sins.
you are backward in mentality not nigeria, nigeria has the largest population of black origin. The whole of Ghana runs on 3000MW of power while lagos alone runs on 1300MW, nigeria is a larger market than all other west African countries combined... and our mentality is richer than that of other African countries... human resources is morein nigeria than every other African country. .Its like comparing China to Taiwan .nit is fellows like you that support the present government because you don't know how to exploit your resource..improve ur mentality fellow.

Methinks it gets that much hype because Nigerians are more immoral.

I don't think the BBN thing is something to be proud of.

Like one South African asked. Do we have light? Are our citizens assured of protection? How good are our roads? Is our Government working?

These are things that are supposed to be front burner topics in our discussions. Not whether BBN is better than BBA.

I weep for our youths.
keep quiet please...nigerians are saints where you have south africans or ghanians in terms of morality . So please keep quiet!!!!
