caprini: Remember that they have played Xavi and co(catalunya)b4 the Afcon, and they drew 1-1,infact if not dat catalunya scored thru a penalty,we won dat game. This boys one on one are not better than previous eagles, but they have one thing other eagles dont,TEAM WINNING MENTALITY.They win,any how, thats what matters.n
Remind him also that many of the SE players that were paraded against the catalonia team were unable to make it to the starting 11 of the nation's cup.

The man should be allowed to die peacefully. He's old already. Doubt if he still enjoys life.

Why allow a hero like him to live a miserable life?

edi287: Uruguay has won the world cup 2 times. There's nothing wrong with being patriotic, but lets stop lying to ourselves....spain and most especially uruguay will trounce this team if they turn up. Look how our defence struggled against Mexico's attack; what will happen when they face Uruguay?
When was the last time they won world cup? Uruguay is no better team than mexico.

Had Mikel played in the game against Mexico, there would have been more stability in the defence. Besides, it was just a friendly game. You would not expect the players to risk getting themselves injured just to impress in a friendly.

But we need a winger who is fast like Tijani Babangida and is capable of crossing like Finidi George.

nickxtra: Well, what a squad! Brown Ideye has no better business to do in this team, he has always failed. Where is Kalu Uche, Yobo experience and Eneramo's or Emenike's power? Hope Keshi will not come back to tell us that they failed because of inexperience. No room for excuses boss. Good luck all the same.
You have no business commenting on this thread cos you obviously have not been following Nigerian football.

Keshi's idea of incorporating local based players into the National team is spot on.

Okocha, Amokachi, Rufai and Yekini were discovered from Local clubs before making their moves to foreign clubs.

As we all know, the aforementioned players were part of the team that would pass as the best super eagles of all time.

olojuede01: In the midfield, i would pick Lukman Haruna. He was in fine form this last season defends and passes well, he also packs a mean shot in his right foot, someone in the mold of Lampard, I would also pick Martins ahead of the Gambo dude. He brings something else to the team. Most of the strikers in the team are similar. There is not really a fighter in the mold of Martins, Emenike and Odemwinge.
Apart from skill, there is a quality a player requires in football before you consider him a good player. And that is passion. Lukmon lacks passion to play for his country.

He assumed himself an indispensible player whenever he was called up to represent the country at the junior level. When you look at our home based players, you see humility, passion and drive to succeed. These are the qualities we need in our team.

As for Martins, keshi gave him chance to prove himself and he messed it up.

I was actually expecting you to mention Bright Dike who scored our only goal against Catalonia.

I knew you campaigned for adaobi cos you saw her inner beauty grin grin. Unfortunately, many of us are not prophets, we only see the external beauty and that is what we based our judgments on. grin grin

ghananotnaija: Team Nigeria, you're representing all Africa in this Confederations Cup. I know you'll embarrass us, but try not to embarrass us too much in front of the world.
Why was your team not able to qualify for this competition to atleast embarrass us?
SportsRe: Super Eagles FIFA Confederations Cup Squad! by boron10(m): 10:56pm On Jun 07, 2013
CFCfan: With this team, I believe the SE can get at least, 5 points in the group, and advance to d semifinals.
However, the more important goal is qualification for next year's world cup. If Naija wins d Confed cup, but fails to make it to the world cup; that will be disastrous.
Actually, I'll be disappointed if we finish the group stage with 5 points. I'm expecting 7 points from the eagles.

We were able to get a draw against catalonia. And there is nothing to fear about uruguay., not after their dismal performance against Ghana in 2010 world cup.

Tahiti will certainly be a work over. I expect Keshi to reserve players like Mikel, Onazi and Ideye in the first game so they can be very fit for the game against spain.
SportsRe: Super Eagles FIFA Confederations Cup Squad! by boron10(m): 10:42pm On Jun 07, 2013
bisikeys: This squad lacks dept. I see a lot of people the coach is trying to sell. Who is Muhammad Gambo and what has he done to be in the team? Who is Solomon Kwambe?? In midfield, i only see two players of class, Ogenyi Onazi and Mikel Obi.. Before you start mentioning Mba, in all of Nigeria's games that he has played , what is his overall performance. He's always anonymous for most of the game. His role is so undefined. You dont see him tackle, you dont see him pass, he just shows that occasional flash of brilliance. Check out our games in the Nations cup, Before and after the goals, what was his impact? What role was he playing? Defensive midfield, or attacking midfield? I believe this is not the best team Nigeria can offer at this stage. this is just the team of a coach trying to prove a point(that am in charge).
You may list the players to think are better than Keshi's players so we can have a meaningful debate.

Jarus: What happens when Oboabona and/or Omeruo gets injured? No replacement.

We still need Yobo, even if not starting.

We don't need Osaze. He will bring friction/rancour to the team, by fighting coaches.

I agree with Udoh's 5 points. Musa is poor in crossing, we are also underestimating Mikel's impact.
Bros, what happened, no player rating?

And how many jobs has this created? Did you manage to get one of the jobs created by these foreign investors?
He has a good economic team whose works have helped to improve the economy which has now attracted the investors.
