ifyalways: I did not read any thread before now.
Dunno what went down there but I expect more from Seun because, whatever, those guys are mere volunteers and some of the hate they are receiving now is because of that single act of kindness - - -volunteering to be a mod.

Serves all parties right. Why i go do volunteer for something that yields serious profit cheesy?
I wish you read the posts on the thread created by Devo, your initial post would not have been needed. I bet you would be on the side of the ordinary members.

The fact that they don't get paid doesn't give them the liberty to hurl insult at will on any member and threaten to frustrate them. Sexkillz was extremely rude. If he were to be an ordinary member, I'm sure he would be serving a lengthy ban from the derogatory comments he made.

They come here to play victim when the same treatment they give to ordinary members is given to them.

Would you allow a friend who volunteer to help sell your products to ruin your business and chase away all your customers because he's not being paid?

The interview was great. Jonathan did well. He gave so many intelligent answers. I wonder why people choose to nail him with just the response he gave concerning Shekau's death.

I've watched Obansanjo's interview and if we want to be honest, we would all admit Jonathan is better.

He may not have sounded convincing and articulate, but he did great.

And Michael Essien is still in Chelsea because his 'daddy' is the manager of Chelsea.
SportsRe: Is Mikel Good For African Footballer Of The Year Award? by boron10(m): 11:46am On Sep 28, 2013
@sagamite

Mikel may not have been outstanding for Chelsea, but his overall performance this year eclipse those of every other African player. Hence my reason for pitting him for APOY award.

SportsRe: Is Mikel Good For African Footballer Of The Year Award? by boron10(m): 11:08am On Sep 28, 2013
Sagamite: I would say Mikel has been outstanding for Nigeria this season but he is pretty much average for Chelsea.

I think Emmanuel Emenike has a better chance than Mikel for AFoY.

And Ahmed Musa has a better chance than Moses.

Some guys are only getting excited about the ACN win. If Nigeria had won silver or bronze at the ACN, I can guarantee you 100% this thread would not exist.

Shallow football analysers.
Emenike did well at the ACN. He could have been a contender but for the fact that he's not been consistent in his club. No goal yet for Fenerbache. Was injured for like 3 or four months last season.

And one thing we all fail to realize is that defending is equally as important as attacking in football. I'm sure you're ruling out Mikel because he's not been scoring goals for Chelsea and his contributions have always been veiled.
SportsRe: Is Mikel Good For African Footballer Of The Year Award? by boron10(m): 10:44am On Sep 28, 2013
Sagamite: Because you won the ACN, no player in Africa can be ranked the same as Mikel and Moses? grin
No, but because they've had a decent performance for both club and country compared to any other African player. Mikel in particular was a stand out performer at both the ACN and Confederation cup. He has been a regular starter for Chelsea.

There might be better players than Mikel in Africa, but we cannot dispute the fact that he has been outstanding this season. Yaya Toure is also doing great but his last season's performance was average.

Katsumoto: That list was fine until you included Adebayor.

Replace Adebayor with KPB
No, he should be replaced with Vincent Enyeama

bin gbagbo:

ask urself...will mikel obi fit into real madrid in
2013? well essien did,
Why has the same Essien not found himself in Chelsea's starting Eleven? I'm sure you are not oblivious of the fact that the same coach that played him at Madrid, is the one benching him now.

For your info, Essien was never in Madrid's first Eleven. He played in less important matches.
SportsRe: Is Mikel Good For African Footballer Of The Year Award? by boron10(m): 8:41pm On Sep 27, 2013
bin gbagbo: it is an undisputed fact that michael essien is the best box to box midfielder Africa has ever seen and had it not been a plethora of injuries leading over 10 knee surgeries, he would have picked this award severally. even now that injuries have taken a toll on him, he is 10 times better than mikel obi, no sentiments. mikel,s co~equals are anthony annan, agyeman badu, emmanuel frimpong, rabiu mohammed .
Essien surely has past his prime. He was way better than Mikel Obi at his peak. No doubt. But he's now very old, lost his drive and pace, no more skill and strength.

He's now the shadow of his old self. Mourinho does not share your sentiment as well. Despite calling him daddy, he still did not register him for CL. How else does he expect the coach to tell him he's no longer needed?

I wonder why you consider KPB as African best player when his contribution in both club and country has been rather insignificant. If there is someone that is analyzing with sentiment, the person should be you cos no Ghanaian player deserves to be in top 5.
SportsRe: Is Mikel Good For African Footballer Of The Year Award? by boron10(m): 8:32pm On Sep 27, 2013
Sagamite: I like your top 5.

I would be moving Muntari up to 6 and Pitriopa to 7. All the others, I can't vouch for.
What makes you think Kelvin Prince Boateng is African best player?

It is now obvious that the battle against boko haram has been won. Nigeria is now battling with AQIM which happen to be deadlier.

They are no threat. If we could deal with the indigenious threats, strangers would be easily flushed out. The millitary will always have my supports and prayers. They've sacrificed so much.

However unsophisticated their weapons have looked, they still made do with them. They deserve our accolades. Kudos to them.
