Bida, a very peaceful town with lovely people. I still can't come to conclusion how a peaceful community like Bida clashed with student of Bida Poly a.k.a Bida standard. I think the students got it wrong, "no car will carry you from Minna to Bida campus", never, their journey ends at Esso. The driver may be looking for passengers and just accepted to take them to campus, of which he should have returned the excess paid by the students since he decided not to go to Bida campus. Also, situation where student wants to flex muscles or to show how brave an fearless actually led to this. Students should try and use their brain, and act like an educated citizen to prevent situation like this next time. May the soul of the departed through the mercy of a God rest in peace , Amen |

The law court in Nigeria is now a thing of joke. No one respect the court anymore. The president refused to obey the court when it granted some people bail.Ajimobi refused to obey the fact that a case was in court but went ahead to do what pleases him. Dino refused to turn up in court , now a forieng company has decided to go against the court order. This precedent set by our politicians will ruin this country. |
Whoever wants to lead Nigeria among these set of guys need to have some element of MADNESS. Thomas Sankara said and I quote: "You cannot carry out fundamental change without a certain amount of madness." So, looking at these set of guys the only person with that element of MADNESS is Sowere. My reason is because you cannot deal with these set of corrupt politicians as a gentleman. These politicians do not respect the rule of law , they are selfish and careless about the people they were voted to serve. So, Sowere for President then any of the other guys may go for the post of the vice. Just my opinion. |
phemmyfour:Quote me , no company home or abroad will employ you for a professional job with a crappy email address. The issue I have with young graduates is that they tend to be faster than their shadows. Someone has explained some points, what will it take you to google it and see for yourself if the points he made are real or not. Please if your email address does not contain your name try and change it, because it tells a lot about you. I may not accept the other points like coming in first and leaving last but that of the email I can guarantee you an imaginary $1k that it is real. Little points like this goes a long way |
PureMe01:Guy, must you abuse? If you don't agree with a post there is nothing wrong to disagree and state your reason to disagree, is as simple as that. Moreover, the heading of my post stated It Seems The Coach Will Use The Same Tactics. The word seems is an impression which can be a probability because the coach may decide to make some changes on or before the day of the match. Please always control your emotions especially in public, you don't have to abuse when someone is on a different opinion with you. http://www.livescore.com/soccer/world-cup/group-d/nigeria-vs-iceland/1-2059604/ |
As Nigerians and fans of football all around the world prepare for the match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the our Boys of Iceland, tension and expectations are high among fans. Nigerians have been clamoring for the Super Eagles coach to start some players and change tactics but it seems the coach is adamant and have decided to stick to the tactics he used against England, czech republic, and Croatia. With Odion Ighalo playing upfront and Alex iwobi playing from the wing let us hope that a miracle happens on Friday.

azraeljaheel:The way it works is that each country runs the commentary for any match . I believe you must be watching the match on super sport, the commentator is likely to be from South Africa or any country DSTV is partnering with e.g BBC/ITV. Before CORRUPTION RUINED Nigeria to this stage, we have Nigerians running live commentary on NTA and FRCN, but since early 90's we find it hard to transmit a live match "talk-less" of running commentary even if the match is to be played at Oshodi. |
NFF.... I need a refund of my money that i used in buying ticket to Russia |
Guys we should be calm. SE will win this match. This is a friendly match and I still believe in the Eagles. All will need is to make the midfield stronger Iwobi should move forward while Mikel should support. Even if USA'94 team come to play people will still complain. We should be calm and believe in these boys |
Nike UK said in a tweet that it currently had no plans to restock the merchandise. This comment by Nike has left fans of the Super Eagles sad. However, fake jerseys have flooded the Nigerian market which servers as an alternative since the original cannot be accessed

DrAdonis:Nurses also go for resisdency,a program killed by the NMA and FG. https://ukhealthcare.uky.edu/medical-professionals/nursing/residency-program Do you know that there are nurse consultant in the UK Do you know that nurses in the urgent health care team are allowed to diagnose patient with small to medium health issues(check urgent care team on line). Please do your research before coming here to type what you are not grounded in. |
YorubaAssasin:Did you just say ORDINARY NURSE ? It shows that you are myopic. Nursing as a profession has involve more than what we practice in Nigeria. Nurses are now consultant and provided quality health care service. We shld be objective and civil on public matter |
Goalkeepers: Jack Butland (Stoke), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Nick Pope (Burnley). Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Kyle Walker, John Stones (Manchester City), Harry Maguire (Leicester), Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Phil Jones, Ashley Young (Manchester United), Fabian Delph (Manchester City). Midfielders: Eric Dier, Dele Alli (both Tottenham Hotspur), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea). Forwards: Jamie Vardy (Leicester), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal) Harry Kane (Tottenham). Standby: Tom Heaton, James Tarkowski (Burnley), Lewis Cook (Bournemouth), Jake Livermore (West Brom) and Adam Lallana (Liverpool). |
MrBigiman:Young man man, you shld have done your research before coming on a public platform like this to show your ignorance. Consultancy is not for medical doctors alone. People are not fools when they hear someone with the title consultant they ll quickly conclude that he or she is a doctor. So you know that there are other professionals in the health sector that hold a PhD? Also, why are people not going to meet a consultant Engineer to ask for medical help. People are knowledgeable to know that the title consultant simply means speaciality in ones field. In the UK I have seen a nurse consultant working with other GPs(check the programme doctors behind closed doors on youtube). I think we should try to read wide by simply using our available devices like smart phones etc. The title consultant will not cause any problem. What I have come to realised is that Nigerian medical doctors don't want others to progress in their field, and if they have the power they ll abolished pple with PhD from using the title Dr. |
These doctors are funny oooo. So Nigerian doctors want to be heading all department in the hospital. Really !!!!!!!. Nigeria doctors plz face what you are trained to do. I stopped reading the memo after reading section 4 of the memo. I simply concluded that doctors " ise o ka awon doctors lara" |
transformed:Your point does not and will not hold water. I have seen where a technician (due to years of experience) earn higher than a freshman Engineer, but that didn't stop pple from studying engineering. In the case of Nurses and doctors: the nurses are not asking for equal pay. Why I am so amazed is that why shld a doctor determine what others shld earn. I don't see an arch telling the employer of Labour what an Engr shld earn. Stay on your lane and let me be on my lane, let the employer determin what he or she can pay. |
After reading the memo released by the NMA, I can't help myself than to laugh. I read a reply to this topic by @dechriscool where he stated all the job done by doctors. My dear let me enlighten you that medicine has advanced than what you think it is. Have you heard about Urgent Care Team? Then I will advise that you click on this link and learn more.https://www.england.nhs.uk/gp/case-studies/beacon-medical-group-2/ Nurses, Pharmacists, Lab-tech/Science have all advanced than what you think they are. I read where someone is saying that a nurse cannot be a specialist, guy kindly try to read wide; have you heard of nurse consultant? Finally, I don't think that NMA has the right to determined what other health workers should earn. if you are basing the fact that you pass through a rigorous process to become a doctor, that is not a reason to dictate what other people should earn as salary. it is better to know that other health workers like nurses have carried out research on various diseases up to phd level. Doctors shld respect other health professionals and leave the government to pay what they can afford. We shld be considerate, even "if doctors and nurses are earning the same salary it still doesn't change the fact that a doctor is a doctor and deserve the respect as a doctor" |
OP, I strongly disagree with you in the area of a nurse consultant. I am not a nurse or a medical practitioner, but If you care to learn I will like you to research on nurse consultant. In the UK there are nurse consultants and I have been treated by one. Kindly note that nursing has advanced and nurses that are calling for a consultancy position is not because they have worked along side with doctors, but as a result of studying and research upto PhD level couple with their experience in the field. A consultant (nurses, med lab, pharm) will not in any way interfare with a Dr who is a consultant there are structure , but we don't want to learn that is our issue. Take a look at the University and Poly in Nigeria. Most countries have upgraded their polytechnic / vocational sector but not in Nigeria. I think on that aspect I disagree with you on that. |
The truth is that accent is not a yardstick to speak good enlish language. If you have ever visited the UK, you ll find out that some Brits has poor gramatical control of the English Language. The funny thing is that the parent are not worried if the grammar is correct, all they are after is accent ; what a shame. In language there will always be accent and that tells others where exactly you are from. An American has an accent (you won't say they speak bad English Language with their accent) likewise Australians, Newzealand, Irish etc What is important is for one to pronounce the word correctly so that others will understand what you meant/mean. Accent is what you pick from environment , society etc Even if they are being taught brit accent in school they ll find it difficult to communicate in the society because the locals ll find it hard to comprehend what they are saying. A Russian ll speak and construct English grammar correctly with a Russian accent, and a native brits /American ll understand him and that is the aim, in as much as you pronounce your words properly and use the correct tense where necessary you are 100% better than some one with fake accent and poor command of the English Language. "My conclusion is that a smart guys saw fools that has nothing to do with money and played a fast one on them by introducing British accent" |
As a matter of fact, in the UK, the highest diploma awarded in a Polytechnic, a HND, will allow the recipient register for the 2nd year of a 3 year degree. This clearly states that the value is short of a degree. I hate it when pple just jump on the internet to write rubbish because they have access to data. HND in the UK is a second level degree programme and you are allowed to apply and ll be admitted to 3rd year, the reason is that HND in the Uk is a two year program total of 240 credit load and when you are admitted into third year you ll have to take the remain 120 credit load which sums up to 360 credit load which is the total crdit load you are required to take before obtainig a degree in the UK. Nigeria HND is higher than the British HND, because Nigeria HND takes a total of five years to complete (including I.T)and has over 360 credit load (if you sum up the total credit load from ND to HND). In Nigeria Universities the total credit load to obtain a degree is 120, of which you will agree that the Poly guys are being short changed. Never you compare Nigeria HND to any HND programme in the world because it is higher and "unique " interms of content and credit loads. Our ministry of education lack the vision to re-structure our HND programme to meet the mordern day system. Don't get me wrong I'm not here to compare Poly to Uni,no that is no the issue. It is time the law that established Poly is re-visited, countries like Ghana, Namibia etc have upgraded and started phasing out Poly gradually. |
What many guys on here dont know is that all ladies arent the same. because it worked for a lady doesnt mean it ll work for others. The line btw rape and showing your ego as a man not too weak is very thin plz becareful. It is better for you to be called a weak man than for you to be called rapist. OP, you have done the right thing. Matured guys dont force there way just to have sex with a lady. There are many fishes in the ocean why do you want to end up in prison because of one? When next you experience this, just tell the lady that you are matured than that, and that you won't force your way to have S*X with a lady and that S*X shld be a mutual pleasure. I swear she ll bring it to you , and do you know what then tell her you are not interested. |
Tekecoms1:The phrase "I am a graduate" is so common on the lips of Nigerian youth. Pride of that degree that doesn't worth the paper it is written on. The guy is right, he is a gate keeper, what has your "well educated highly rank employer fetch you". Nothing, absolutely nothing. People should forget about being a graduate, as long as what you are doing will cover your bills then go for it. In as much is not stealing. Go to the UK and see Brit and non Brits graduate working in Nandos, KFC, TESCO,MACDONALDS etc. These guys are graduate with degrees from reputable Universities. Who cares if you are a security or not, in as much it pays the bills, feed your family back home and you can live a comfortable live who cares. You, be sincere with yourself, if you are given that security job in which every month you can send at least 100k or more (£200) back home to support your parent , brothers and sisters, tell me you won't jump at it. You ll be amazed when you see people of other nationality doing this type of job even the ones that are "worst" than this |
OP, nice write-up, but I ll strongly disagree with you that certification add nothing to your skills. A certification adds basically nothing to your skills, but it presents you as a professional to either the hiring manager or your client. I would be writing about the various certifications that come with different information technology courses, so do well to get subscribe and receive it directly to your mailbox Why do you think people go to University to study engineering? We can all trouble shoot and find solution if we have interest in the job. In the course of preparing for your certification e.g Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) if you study it with your lab and study it like your life depend on it ,you ll be confident to troubleshoot, build , configure and run any network structure or architect. Whoever wants to go into I.T should follow the process , get your certifications, learn so that you ll get the job. Even if you want to become an I.T technician try and study for ComptiaA+ with these you will be exposed before you get to the real world. Yes, when you get the job you will learn. It happens in all areas. Even if you made a first class no employer will employ you and give you tools and ask you to start work immediately , you ll have to under study even if it is for few days. So please go for certification it is your degree in the world of I.T just like CCNA (Bsc), CCNP (Msc), CCIE(PhD..in the world pple with this certification are less than 50%) |
OP nice write up, but i will disagree with you on the point that : A certification adds basically nothing to your skills, but it presents you as a professional to either the hiring manager or your client. I would be writing about the various certifications that come with different information technology courses, so do well to get |
OP don't eat fresh eggs it is not the best because it contain samolina. What you need to note is that there are lot of bacteria in our gut. In some pple the rate at which food is broken down differs. You may have a very high rate of metabolic process, hence most of the food are broken down even the body makes use of it. So, what I'll advise is that you keep eating continously, it may be in small chunks but ensure that may be every hour or two you eat something and try to rest well. You are slim but it ll amaze you that you are not under weight. Visiting a doctor and undergoing some test ll help, but I can assure you that even if you eat the "world" you ll only gain slight (small) weight. Plz note I am not a doctor, but a close friend is on the same train like you. ![]() |
Mansplaining, Hangry, Ransomware, and Swag are among more than 1,000 words that have been added to the latest Oxford English Dictionary (OED). Mansplaining is defined as explaining something "needlessly, overbearingly, or condescendingly, especially to a woman, in a manner thought to reveal a patronising or chauvinistic attitude". Researchers date early usage of that term to an internet exchange between a man and a woman in 2008. Although hangry has only come into common usage recently the word dates back to 1956 when it appeared in a psychoanalytic journal. The OED defines the new term snowflake as a description of someone who is "overly sensitive or as feeling entitled to special treatment or consideration". Ransomware is another new addition - less than a year since the NHS was one of a number of global institutions targeted by the WannaCry cyber attack that was carried out with the use of malicious software. Chaebol is formed by combining the Korean words chae, meaning wealth, and bol, meaning faction and, in South Korea, means a large business conglomerate. However, recently the word has been used to describe a luxurious lifestyle associated with families who own such businesses. The new list sees American rapper Jay-Z get his sixth OED citation with the word swag being added to the dictionary. Swag, derived from the word swagger, describes a bold, self-confident manner and appeared in Jay-Z's Black Album: "My self-esteem went through the roof, man. I got my swag." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42870791 |
Ex-US Olympic gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar has been sentenced to 40 to 175 years after testimony from nearly 160 of his victims. The judge dismissed Nassar's attempted apology as insincere, saying he would "be in darkness the rest of his life". Nassar pleaded guilty to 10 counts of sexual assault against girls and young women, including Olympians. The 54-year-old had already been sentenced to 60 years for possession of child pornography. Judge Rosemarie Aquilina told Nassar during the sentencing: "As much as it was my honour and privilege to hear the sister survivors, it was my honour and privilege to sentence you. "Because, sir, you do not deserve to walk outside of a prison ever again." She told the paedophile: "You have not owned yet what you did. I wouldn't send my dogs to you, sir. "I've just signed your death warrant". Following seven days of emotional testimony from Nassar's victims, he was given an opportunity to address the court. "What I am feeling pales in comparison to the pain, trauma, and emotional destruction that all of you are feeling," he told the packed courtroom. "There are no words to describe the depth and breadth of how sorry I am for what has occurred," he added. A story of survival Rajini Vaidyanathan, BBC News, Lansing, Michigan Throughout the seven-day hearing, the stories have been strikingly similar - the former USA Gymnastics team doctor would call the women in for treatment, but instead of taking away their pain, he stole their innocence. Some were so young they didn't realise until years later that they had been sexually abused. As Larry Nassar sat in his prison overalls, just metres away from them, survivor after survivor looked him in the eye and reminded him of what he'd done to them. And that's been the most extraordinary thing about this hearing. While the content of their testimony has been harrowing, it's also been inspiring. For survivors of sexual abuse it's hard to relive the experience, let alone do so in front of your attacker. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-42811304 |
England will play Nigeria at Wembley and Costa Rica at Elland Road in their final friendly matches ahead of this summer's World Cup. Nigeria will visit on 2 June while England will face Costa Rica at Leeds United's ground on 7 June. England's first match at the World Cup is against Tunisia on 18 June. Gareth Southgate's side also face Costa Rica's central American neighbours Panama in Russia, with Belgium completing Group G. The England manager said: "We're going into a World Cup where we will play African and Central American opposition, so we get that with the games against Nigeria and Costa Rica, but it's not just about the games we've got in the group but hopefully beyond that as well. "We want to expose the team to different styles and different experiences." England played friendlies in Manchester and Sunderland in the build-up to Euro 2016 but this will be the first time they have played in Yorkshire since 2002, a 2-1 defeat by Italy at Elland Road. "All of the feedback from the team before Euro 2016 was really positive, the players enjoyed it and it was definitely well received by the public," added Southgate. "It's nice when we have an opportunity to take the team on the road." Before games against Nigeria and Costa Rica, England will play Netherlands and Italy in March. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42636452 |
OP you just wan run without thinking of how to crawl. If you join the NA with your Msc, you ll be commissioned as a 2nd Lt. However, you may be drafted to a nice place if your course of study is what the NA wants like Medical/Engineering. The highest rank you can attain is a Major because age is one major factor that ll affect you. Also, because you joined as a short service you ll need to convert to regular in which case it is not that easy at all but if your course is what the NA wants like Medicine, then there is hope for you to attain the rank of a general. As a short service commissioned officer you have limitation of promotion but as a regular (those guys from NDA) your promotion is limitless (but not upto the rank of a field marshal) No one can attain a field Marshal in the NA, "I know that is your plan .I think I have helped in my little way this morng ![]() |
