Western countries are hypocrites. They developed and powered their economies/countries using fossil fuels like coal and natural gas, now that developing countries are also developing capacity to use those same fuels for their own development and energy needs, they are now preaching that fossil fuel usage should be stopped. Developing countries should resist their hypocrisy.

Yeah, there are advantages but the disadvantages is more than the advantage.

So what exactly is your point? That SWesterners should start fighting and killing each other instead of managing their diversity as they have been doing up to date? As we speak, 5 of the 6 SW governors are Christians, even in states that have slightly more Muslims than Christians. That shows that they defy your assertion about diversity. There are homogeneous states in Nigeria where the single dominant religions still fight and discriminate against one another.

GEJ is spot on. He's not saying Yorubas are perfect but just that they have succeeded the best out of other regions to manage their diversity to foster relative peace, harmony, and development. Other sections of the country can study and learn their success formula.

Op, I am sure that nobody will force you to vote for Tinubu if he decides to run or gets his party ticket, so why not focus on selling your preferred candidate instead of insulting and focusing on Tinubu? I doubt that your candidate can even win his local government (let alone his state) if an election is held today. So you already have your work cut out bro. Start selling his manifestos instead of making Tinubu more popular.

The Ondo State government has denied adopting Oodua anthem, saying that the indigenous anthem adopted by the state was distinct from Oodua anthem.

This is contained in a statement by Mr Richard Olatunde, Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Monday in Akure.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the state had in the twilight of Akeredolu’s first term in office, adopted the anthem which was being recited after the national anthem at government functions.

He explained that the rationale behind the adoption of the anthem was to promote the tradition and culture of the Yoruba race.

According to him, this clarification is necessary in order to avoid misinterpretation, misconception and outright misunderstanding of the aim of the state government.

“The recently dissolved Ondo State Executive Council (SEC) on Feb. 18, 2021 approved an indigenous anthem for the state.

“But it has come to our notice that the anthem is being referred to as Oodua anthem.

“I wish to state that what was approved for the state was Ondo state anthem and not Oodua anthem,” he said.
