Reno is right. Wike actually got most of his votes from the North. His southerner fellows are the ones that messed him up, especially that Udom. I have reasons to believe that if Udom had countered the Tambuwal capitulation to Atiku by also stepping down for his SS brethren Wike, that could have changed the momentum in Wike's favour. Udom knew quite well that he stood no chance of winning, yet he went ahead and split Wike's votes, while Tambuwal stepped down for his Fulani brother in the North East region. That was the game-changer that probably swayed some votes in Atiku's favour. |
essentialone:Exactly. I also think that may have been his calculation because it was obvious that he (Udom) stood little to zero chance of winning, so why split the vote of your fellow southerner that obviously stood a better chance if not for an ulterior motive? I believe the Tambuwal capitulation to Atiku was the game-changer that may have actually swayed some undecided and formerly Wike votes in his favour. If Udom had countered that move, the outcome could have been totally different. |
I don't think Nigeria can survive another 8 years of Fulani rule. Wike actually got most of his votes from the North. It was his fellow Southern states that betrayed and let him down. If the likes of Udom (his fellow SS governor) had stepped down for him the same way Tambuwal did for Atiku, that could have given him some much-needed momentum. |
Is this a joke or something? Peter Obi should have stayed in PDP and used his trending popularity as leverage to negotiate for VP slot with Atiku. But his political I.Q is too low to make him see the wisdom in that. He stood the best chance of getting Igbo into Aso rock within 8-yrs minimum (in the event that Atiku wins the presidency), but his ego got the best of him. |
Eiya. Rip to him. He has finally gone to rest. The guy's been battling with his health for some years now. I think it's kidney problem. |
They can be very ipobish in their intolerance and arrogance. |
Ipob has to unmask those behind the heightened insecurity in the SE acting in their name and expose them. It's not enough to keep denying responsibility. If truly ipob has the street credibility that it claims in the SE, by now it should be proactive enough to face those using its name to commit atrocities. That's the only way they can be exonerated. |
If I were him I would sue the newspaper that published that fake news. Daily Independent should be sanctioned. |
Ah, o ti zeh for Atiku be dat o. If he loses Igbo support then he should just forget his presidential ambition because they're his biggest supporters not just in the South but the entire country. But can igbos ever abandon Atiku and PDP for any reason under the sun? I seriously doubt it. |
Why is Osinbajo afraid to declare sef? The other time they said he would declare right after the convention, then they changed it to April, now they've shifted it to May. What's going on?? |
This shows that Atiku Abubaker is a hypocrite. Based on this about-face, I don't believe he can be trusted with power. |
seunny4lif:Guy, stop misleading people abeg. Go and reread what you wrote before I quoted you, you said "I spent only two years in Libya and then came back". If na Libya you dey, come out and say so with your full chest and stop deceiving people. But even more importantly, which Libya are you talking about? Or is there a different Libya from the one that Nigerians are being repatriated from (as recently as last month), I mean the one that I have provided news links to below. Stop misleading gullible Nigerians with this your kind of talk. Libya of today is not better than Nigeria. https://dailytrust.com/167-nigerians-repatriated-from-libya https://www.thecable.ng/nema-162-nigerians-repatriated-from-libya/amp https://www.icirnigeria.org/another-95-stranded-nigerians-repatriated-from-libya/ https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/08/fg-repatriates-another-batch-of-107-nigerians-stranded-in-libya/amp/ https://guardian.ng/news/nema-receives-158-nigerian-returnees-from-libya/ https://gazettengr.com/one-hundred-and-eighty-nigerians-repatriated-from-libya/ |
seunny4lif:If Libya is so fantastic as you paint it (compared to Nigeria), what's stopping you from going back there to stay permanently? Unless you're being dishonest, why aren't you typing from Libya instead of Naija now? The same Libya that Nigerians stranded there are begging the FG to repatriate them from, wey flights dey carry Nigerians wey manage escape from there dey enter Naija weekly. Some of you, out of self-hatred, talk as though Nigeria is the worst place on earth. No be today Nigerians begin travel-out/japa. I'm old enough to know that people have been japaing since before I was born in the early 70s. I witnessed Nigerians Japa during the 80s and 90s. I myself have lived abroad so I am speaking from experience. While it is ok to Japa for exposure and career prospects, I will still say that it is not for everybody. No be everybody Japa dey favour in life because not all countries are better than Nigeria. Some dey Japa go countries wey worse pass Naija out of peer-pressure to japa. Na this frenzy to Japa dey cause some Nigerians to embark on journeys of no-return out of desperation to do follow-follow, sotay they'll end up in slavery, meet their untimely deaths while journeying through the desert and sea, etc. As for the Op, my advice is that if you go Japa, do so with sense bro, coz believe it or not, not every Nigerian that japa'd is satisfied with their lives abroad. Doesn't mean you'll end up in that category, but I repeat, Japa with sense, to avoid stories that touch. |
Btruth:Maybe after Sanwo-Olu's two tenures they can try their luck. Besides, Sanwo-Olu is smarter than Ambode so I am sure he will learn from his predecessor's errors and secure his re-election. You people like listening to baseless rumours. |
Eriokanmi:You no kuku lie. |
If Sanwo-Olu can deliver this blue line before December, his re-election will be sure banker. No opposition party would be allowed to come and derail the remaining sections of the rail project. This metro rail project is a very big deal for Lagos, and will be the most indelible legacy of the Tinubu-Fashola-Ambode-SanwoOlu administrations. |
Eriokanmi:Nkan be. Na my first time of hearing this gist. |
Eriokanmi:You mean he has a while university in Ghana? Why didn't he build it in Ekiti instead? Are you sure this isn't just a other unfounded rumour? |
He's right. Tinubu said nothing when Fulanis were getting killed in the SW, while Osinbajo voiced out and attacked his Yoruba brothers to stop killing the murderous Fulani herdsmen wrecking havoc on their farms while also killing and raping their women. Did I translate his position properly? |
Op stop disgracing Igbo people. It's not a must for Wike to claim Igbo ethnicity for validation. To claim Igbo is not by force. A man can be whomsoever he chooses to be. Stop this foolishness abeg. |
hisexcellency34:Correction noted. Though Daily independent has also been a culprit in that regard. |
Seems ThisDay newspaper has joined the gang of fake news peddlers. |
Op, your wife dey gather evidence against you for future purpose. E go brutal when she decides to unleash her venom against you. I'll advice you thread with caution during your altercations with her henceforth. E get why. Na abroad Una dey o. |
Investigative:I've seen what you presented and it's ok, but underwhelming compared to the hype surrounding his personality. |
Sergio104:Well, relative to what Umahi has done in Ebonyi, or Obiano his successor, I must say I'm not really impressed. These list of achievements appear too basic compared to the hype that's built around his personality. But this is just my opinion though. ![]() |
Atiku should pity this woman na. After all she born for am. This their matter is getting too messy. |
If not that he stands a slim chance of winning the APC ticket, I dare to say that David Umahi is the most competent Igbo vying for the presidency. He has the receipts to prove his administrative competence. So far Peter Obi is all talk and overhype as far as I am concerned. Pound-for-pound and side-by-side, Umahi's achievements and legacies in office beats Pete Obi's hands down. I am yet to see any impressive or comprehensive list of what Peter Obi achieved while he was governor. I would like to be proved wrong if such a list exists. |
It'll be interesting to see a Wike vs. Peter Obi matchup at the PDP presidential primaries. I think most people know how that contest would end. If Wike is really serious about contesting and can galvanize or persuade his Northern PDP governor counterparts to key into the idea, the party might just zone the ticket the South after all. |
This is a very risky development. The Southern states need to show more interest in this sort of recruitment opportunities. E get why. |
If the report is true, it would be a solid power and smart move by Atiku. SE votes can't be relied on by any serious contender in the coming elections due to the ipob factor, and that cancels out the need for an igbo VP. If Wike accepts to deputise Atiku, that can be a game-changer. The Atiku-Obi ticket won't fly in 2023. |
Aderewah:Even Dele Momodu looks older than him in that picture you attached. |
