The sentences handed down for these crimes are not long enough. That's why these folks keep trying their luck at fraud. That Ogun state Governor's aide will be release early next year after serving about 75% of his 5 year sentence - https://www.intelregion.com/entertainment/usa-govt-transfers-mr-woodberry-hushpuppi-and-bidemi-rufai-to-same-prison-facility-ahead-of-valentine-day-releases/ |
Phones / Re: My Starlink Review After Porting From Airtel Unlimited by Bossman(m): 8:12am On Aug 18 |
With starlink, Nigeria is slowly getting to where majority of other countries have been for a while. Unlimited very fast connectivity is the norm in most other countries. Streaming, iptv, tv on demand, etc is the future. Hopefully the starlink startup costs will drop a bit to make it accessible to more people. 1 Like |

If you want to use the DOB on the passport, then you have to go to the NIMC office to initiate a change of DOB. Passport and NIN info have to match exactly. ariwoleyemr: |

Not without the provision of 24/7 uninterrupted electricity. The basics need to be taken care of first. The availability of electricity drives everything - development, innovation, etc. |

Probably for documentation/record keeping. So the next time when you authenticate with your fingerprint it will pull up your records. Including the previous denial of course. dora2007: |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Trump Releases Joe Biden's Debate Lowlights (Video) by Bossman(m): 3:59pm On Jun 28 |
The Dems are backed into a corner right now. And they do not have time on their side. Trump will likely be the next president of the United States. The independents are the ones that determine the outcome of the election. And they will likely see Trump as the most competent right now. Based on that performance by Biden. |

If you want your passport details to maintain the 3 names, you have to update your NIN to match it. Otherwise just renew your passport with the names matching your NIN. francabiola: |

Phones / Re: I Need Help With MTN Data Plan For Smart/data TV. by Bossman(m): 6:21pm On May 27 |
Streaming uses a lot of data as you mentioned. Since MTN works well for you, your best bet is their 200GB monthly plan for 30k. Yes, it's a bit expensive. I was their for 2 weeks in March. I signed up for this plan upon landing and used it for streaming (Brought my IPTV with me) and every thing else. My TV was on and playing something as long as I was in the house. Through it all I still had about 70GB left when I left Naija. |

Phones / Re: Starlink Is The Third Largest Internet Provider In Nigeria In Q4 2023 - NCC by Bossman(m): 3:52pm On May 21 |
Because a good majority of Nigerians access the internet via mobile data (MTN, GLO, etc.). Not via dedicated internet service providers offering unlimited data. Unlike in other countries where it's the other way around. Pretty much every house hold has unlimited home internet provided by an Internet Service Provider. In addition to the mobile data on their phone of course. Nigeria will get there eventually. ThothHermes: |
Phones / Re: Starlink Is The Third Largest Internet Provider In Nigeria In Q4 2023 - NCC by Bossman(m): 3:35pm On May 20 |
Affordability is certainly still an issue. An overwhelming Majority of Nigerians (over 160 mobile internet subscriptions) still access the internet via mobile data. Because there are different and much cheaper data subscriptions, with data limits of course. Just no affordable unlimited data options in Nigeria. |
Properties / Re: Woman Shares Heartbreaking Story Of House Demolition In Lagos(video) by Bossman(m): 11:26pm On May 13 |
I think she has a case against the seller, if there is proof the seller was aware or notified of the impending demolition. I know these sort of things can drag on in court for a very long time. But that's their best option for recovery of their money as I see it. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I see a lot of talk about not owning the house until after 30 years. Not totally correct. A good percentage of us pay off these mortgages in half that time or less. Same thing with our vehicles. We pay them off in way less than half of the terms of the loan. Building very good credit is very critical. One thing the most advanced and developed countries of the world have in common is, a very god credit system. It enables and empowers its citizens. The lack of this is one of the myriad of things binding Nigeria back. |

Career / Re: Layoffs And Job Security Force Nigeria’s Tech Workers To Traditional Industries by Bossman(m): 2:52pm On Apr 16 |
I concur. If you have the right skillset there are plenty of jobs for you to choose from. IT-Software Dev is still a more marketable skill than most of the traditional nontech skills. MT: |
Career / Re: Which Of These Two Careers Can Help Me Migrate To The US? by Bossman(m): 2:25pm On Apr 03 |
If tech is oversaturated, then finance is oversaturated X 10! On the US side, you are better of anytime any day with IT/Software Dev skills than accounting/finance. There may be 1000 applicants for a single tech job posting. However, there will probably be 10,000 job applicants for the same single accounting/finance job posting. Actually the job prospects between these 2 are not even comparable here in the US. You still stand a better chance of getting sponsorship for a tech job than finance/accounting. There are tons of folks from top notch schools with degrees in finance/accounting here in the US that can't find a job. So why would anyone sponsor you for that. I have been in tech (software Development) for a very long time, though in management now. There is still pretty good demand for those with strong tech skills. 5 Likes |

Your passport must match what's on your NIN. If they are both wrong then you need to change both then. Change NIN first, then do passport afterwards. Omolaugh26: 1 Like |

Travel / Re: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by Bossman(m): 6:21pm On Mar 28 |
To the best of my knowledge here in the US only, only permanent Resident students or those that are Citizens are able to get student loans. Now, there are international student loans for which there will need to be a Cosigner. So, more than likely the agent is the cosigner here. As already posted, make sure you verify the terms of the loan with the agent. Alfabest07: |
