The desire and lust for money that some of us have is really beyond me. Some of these folks will do anything to get this money. What is wrong with being contempt in life? Does it have to always be about money? So much greed! Serves them right.

I updated Iphones 14 pro max, 12 pro max, and 11 to IOS 27.0.1 and have not noticed any difference in the battery lives of these devices.

As someone already suggested, have him arrested for Attempted Murder. Hopefully him being thrown in prison will rest his brain a bit. I certainly would not leave him alone with your parents, or anywhere close to them.

With the nonsense MTN is doing in Nigeria, In a sane environment they will likely be out of business. They would have paid fines upon fines, and faced all sorts of lawsuits. These people are really getting away with highway robbery in Nigeria. The appropriate governing body is not doing their job. This is total lack of respect and care for their customers! The mobile network space needs more competition.

OP, there is no need to waste your time responding to those doubting your story. If common sense can’t tell them it’s not fabricated, there is no point in you engaging such people.

According to Google the numbers are correct. GLO controls about 12% of the market.

Ibadan’s proximity to Lagos makes this project make no sense! It will see extremely low usage. Though categorized as an international airport, just like every other airstrip in Nigeria, it will likely never see an international flight. How in the world do some of these leaders think?

I concur…the iPhone 11 will be a better option compared to the XR. I was surprised to see that my iPhone 11 that I use strictly as music player recently got updated to IOS 27. And it’s working quite well on it. The XR is not even eligible for the update.

This is primarily due congestion. Just too many people connected to the network during the day.

It was bought in Nigeria, but sent from abroad (likely UK) it says. AS others said, it's likely a phone that was reported stolen and then blocked from working on all UK carriers.

Title should probably have included the word Nigeria as in "Why Are Some Ladies in Nigeria Obsessed With iPhones So Much?". It's definitely no so in other countries. At least not here in the US. However, my observation is that some people in Nigeria will do anything to get an Iphone. They see it as a status symbol. That just makes no sense! Completely screwed up priorities.

Correct. MVNO’s rent the infrastructure and buy data in bulk. So their overhead costs are lower. That’s why they are usually cheaper.

Don't mind those defending the ridiculous and expensive services of Lebara. All over the world, MNVO services are cheaper than that of the actual owner of the infrastructure, that's how it works. It's simple. The MNVO didn't have to acquire and deploy the infrastructure, which is the most expensive part of the whole process. MNVOs simply pay the owner of the infrastructure in order to use the services of the infrastructure, so why should the services of the MNVO be more expensive than that of the owner of the infrastructure.

People should purchase a device based on their needs and features that meet that need. In Nigeria though, I believe most purchase an Iphone because they believe it means they have arrived, and they want to belong. And that's a total misconception. It's just screwed up priorities. Nigeria does not even have an official Apple store. So majority of the devices sold there are usually "second hand".

This would be good to know. Kindly post your experience when y0u try it. So I am assuming the MTN ODU has a nano sim slot that one can just put a normal MTN sim with data subscription into, and there will be no speed restrictions, as long as the network coverage allows it.

Does the NIMC app still work for anyone here? I get an error after entering my NIN. Seems to be having issues connecting to the server. It used to work a while back.

Not surprised one bit Bangkok topped the list. Still one of the best vacations we have ever had. Though I was visiting with family/kids, there is something for everyone. The kids who are in their 20's had a blast as well. Such a fun city.

The high rate of equipment failure is limited to Nigeria. And likely related to the power issues there. Equipment failures are rare here in the USA.

Going through this thread ,and seeing what you guys are experiencing, just to enjoy a stable and decent internet connection, I am like...WOW! All the settings and manipulations that needs to be done just to have what is, by most standards, a mediocre internet connection and experience. These companies need to be held accountable. AS I have mentioned in other threads, I have had my own issues with MTN during my visits. We need to really get past this mess in order to have progress in the country!

As usual, the thread is already turning into a tribal war, just like most other threads on this platform. Instead of condemning him as a Nigerian, tribal divisions are already being created. With this mindset, there is absolutely no hope for Nigeria! So unfortunate.

Not here to get involved with any IOS/Android debate. However I want to mention that my old IPhone 11 that I just use in the car for Bluetooth music or when working around the house, just recently got an alert for upgrading to IOS 26.6, in preparation for IOS 27.
There is a statement somewhere in this thread about IPhone 11 no longer receiving updates, and that’s totally false!

Apple just makes very minimal incremental changes from one year to the next. Majority a never going to use these new features, or even know what they are. However, through their marketing tactics they are able to push these features as if they are must haves. I currently use a 14 pro max as a daily driver, and a 12 pro max as a backup and for Naija (due to needing physical sim card), and I can emphatically say there is not much difference between these 2 devices.

The desire for money among some of us is just so unbelievable! The risk some of us take for this money is beyond me. Hope they are punished severely.

If you are using MTN, it may not work well on 4G/LTE in some areas as it’s missing their main bands of 7 & 20. Should have worked on 3G or even 5G if available in your area though. Have you tried to manually search for network?

Seizing of properties is not enough. They should prosecute and send these people to jail for a very long time, up to and including the death sentence. That will make others think twice.

I would think the new kit is associated with your account. If you want to use it at another location, you will have to let them know. And that will be a separate account.

good evening everyone, I have been without internet and I contacted CS and long story short, they sent a replacement, however when I wanted to mount it, I found out that Rat or whatever animal cut it. I have reconnected it and it's working. I was thinking if I can use the new kit in my secondary location by creating a new account or using my partners information?

Very true. When one factors in the average earnings in Nigeria, internet cost is super expensive. Let's not even talk about how unreliable it is. The overwhelming majority of Nigerians get their internet via data plans from their mobile carriers. I feel the high cost is mainly due to the cost the carriers have to pay to provide the service, such as diesel, non-existing infrastructure, etc.

Internet is even way cheaper in Europe. You can get 10Gbps unlimited fiber in a lot of countries is Europe for less than €30. In Spain and Portugal you get 10Gbps for €15. It's crazy how expensive internet is in Nigeria, a poor country at that.
