Phones › Re: Why SIM Cards Linked With NIN Are Being Barred - NCC by Bossman(m): 8:26pm On Jan 23, 2024*. Modified: 11:40pm On Jan 23, 2024 |
This is nonsense! Anyone that knows about these things will tell you that it should not be possible for the NIN to be linked to two different identities - fingerprint, names, pictures. Those identifying attributes should uniquely identify an entity/individual. Except if the system is really screwed up that it's not able to uniquely identify an entity with those attributes. And it should not be possible for someone with an NIN to get another one. Except if it's a not a well designed application. |

TV/Movies › Re: Amazon Prime To Layoff Staff And Stop Producing African Content by Bossman(m): 2:31pm On Jan 20, 2024 |
The African market in general just is not viable. The lack of unlimited internet/broadband makes streaming services no no in these countries. In Nigeria for example, an overwhelming majority still access the internet via metered data (Data on their phone/MiFi). So streaming services just are not going to work for them. |

Phones › Re: Did You Get This Message From MTN? by Bossman(m): 7:08pm On Jan 11, 2024 |
I believe majority are aware the linking can be done online. However, most are receiving this message because their information MTN has is not matching what NIMC has. So the info will need to be updated on the MTN system. And this can only be done by visiting the MTN office with the appropriate documents. Unless there is a way to update (via online/app) the info MTN system has that I am not ware of. bluefilm: The thing is that so many of our people are not really informed, most especially when it comes to doing things online.
The queue I met at MTN office today because of this issue of linking NIN really shocked me.
I know that many people don't even know that they can easily link their NIN to their lines with the NIMC app, in the comfort of their homes.
Which is exactly what I did.
I have successfully linked my NIN to my MTN and Glo lines with the NIMC app with no stress at all. |

This has fake marriage written all over it! They asked for more evidence, and somehow she could not provide it, and the person she married to fell sick, that he could not even communicate. And this same person is now in Nigeria. Then why does she still need the visa to go to the USA. No visa officer will believe this nonsense! The visa officer sniffed out this fake marriage quickly, and she has probably been banned. |

As already said, be humble, work hard, and continue to learn. Whatever area of IT you choose to focus on, make sure you learn it very well and you are very proficient in it. Also, the IT sector in Nigeria is quite limiting. So to get good opportunities for growth and development you will need to find a way to get out of there. Then that cable will connect to your cable modem/router. drmuchin: Gurus in the house, how does fibre broadband work? Sounds like a SIM issue. Clean the SIM contacts or replace the SIM card. Buchika: I bought a brand-new Galaxy S21 5g from Slot.
The problem is that other SIM cards are working in it but this particular MTN SIM I want to use in the phone refuses to work when inserted. The phone does not recognize the SIM. It says no SIM inserted.
But the sim in question is working on other Galaxy phones.
Please has anyone experienced this type of issue |

The population never really had much of a purchasing power. An overwhelming majority of the over 200 million are very low income earners. nedu666: I don't blame them. Sorry to hear about your ordeal. I am surprised that you were still denied boarding with an authentic travel document from the embassy, and a police report from the Mexican authorities. Please elaborate on the reason for the denial and that will help folks provide appropriate advice. I also think you will need something from the Canadian authorities indicating you are allowed to enter the country. MzMisty: Good evening. Please I need your help and advise. I travelled to Mexico 3weeks ago on vacation. Unfortunately, I got robbed. Someone stole my bag that had my travel documents and other valuable items.
I live in Canada and I am a temporary work permit resident. I reported the theft to the police in Cancun, got all required documents to present at the Nigeria high commission to enable me get an emergency passport. The embassy said they don’t issue passports but gave me a letter to present at boarding.
I was at the airport today and was denied boarding.
Please can anyone advise me on how to handle this. I am stranded in Mexico!
Thank you. |

I agree. These actors got paid. How many folks did they help when things were rosy and all was good. They will flex and show off, rather than invest wisely. That life style catches up with them later in life. Nigerians do NOT owe him anything! He did it for himself, not Nigerians. Why is this entitlement nonsense so common in this country? Does acting making him more important than his fellow citizens?!!
How many years in acting and nothing to show for it?!! Why didn't he try other things?!! I hate entitlement and mental laziness. |

Well said. I actually had to force my device (Iphone) to stay on LTE/4G due to inconsistency and terrible speeds on 5G. A few minutes after I landed there last June I received a text from MTN welcoming me, and indicating my device is now configured for 5G and ready to go. What a joke! It was barely usable. For now, LTE/4G does very well. noobody: You guys this issue has been over flogged.
If google does not launch the phone in your country, you won't get 5g and volte.
Even the 1.1m pixel 8 pro
Just set your phone to 5G the 4g LTE speed is amazing as 5G.
Even us with 5G phones on mtn,5G is not constant,it fluctuates btwn 5g and 4g |
