Chrisbenogor: ROTFLMAO Girl if you were missing me you could have given a call lol you know na
I just wonder the rationale behind the whole kini jo, like someone said if they pray and no accident , God saw us through they pray and nearly got an accident, God prevented it from happening they pray and get an accident, God prevented anyone from getting hurt they pray still get an accident and some people died, God prevented the rest from dying
seems like twisted logic, but you get the point
When you pray sincerely, you are committing yourself and whatever situation occurs into the hands of the almighty God. It is He who decides what course he wants our lives to take. |
Christianity Etc › Re: To Tithe or Not to Tithe? by Bota: 2:18pm On Jul 29, 2009 |
Tithe, by its very definition is '' a tenth of something '' . Lets keep this at the back of our mind. This is what God has asked for, and that is our obligation. We may choose to give more (that will be offering), but the command is for us to return a tenth(tithe) of what has been given us. |
Christianity Etc › Re: To Tithe or Not to Tithe? by Bota: 2:08pm On Jul 29, 2009 |
God is our creator and has asked for :
10% of our income (as tithe)- bring ye all the tithes into the store house ,
1/7 of our time (sabbath) - six days shall thou labor and do all thy work ,
Makes sense to me |

Aggressa: @All, Our God is not a God of mediocrity, he can use anybody from unschooled illiterate (remember Pa Akindayomi, founder of RCCG) to these awesome 'academia' men of God. The fact is, whomsoever God calls, He qualifies them. Very true Aggressa : In God's service, the greatest ability is availability. Anyone, make yourself available for God's service and see what He will make of your life ! |

shahan: @donnie, please help us ask am well-well.
@bari_kade, wey you now? I'm enjoying your treatise on the Sabbath, and hope you find time to come give us the sequel as promised.
@babyosisi, 'grace' for some people is a strange phenomenon; for such, 'law' proves everything, even though they don't understand what it points to in the first place. I have read through the discussion with interest. I did not see Shahan's response when he was asked if he is a former SDA. Maybe I missed it? I would appreciate that information to gain some perspective here , thanks |

It is pure lust - all these wining and dining. Wait till you have to plan finances, inlaws, look after kids or even him when sick - those are the realities that will bring you down very fast from your cloud 9. Better leave the man alone and let him go mind his responsibilities and you go look elsewhere for your own ! |

The wedding is usually in the bride's church - her family gets to decide that. But , after the wedding , any other thing , afterparty etc is done at the grooms side because the wife is now part of the groom's family. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Strange When People Refer To Africa In The Same Sense As Us States by Bota(op): 6:54pm On Jul 19, 2009 |
naijaway: Is really how its supposed to be in a real sense with the exception of the arabs. African unity coupled with some nice machineries will send many of those arabs back to their middle east afterall they have been trying to kill israel for a little portion of their land but have taken more than a quater of africa's land and trying to gain more with the most obvious instance in sudan. Just imagine the speed trains going through all parts of africa, the flights going though all parts without soverign fears, the real african command center made by africans, and all sorts of jobs that would emergy, ethnic and religious tolerance across the continent or at least in 90% of the continent, etc. When we speak who wouldn't listen even china and all their asians combined. A time like that will come to pass and those who will live in those times will really enjoy the real dream of africa where everything best will reside and we will be helpers on many level to the world. We living now have to make a time like that be smooth to transit, understanding, harmonious, etc. And it will come with african extensions all over the world from the carribeans to other continents without dubious ways of having those advantages. I like it when people say that because they see an advantage i have but hasn't materalized yet. but soon. Hataz can jump off the nearest cliffs close to them without any safe guards. swines. I must say I admire your optimism, '' I have a dream, '' (Well, except for the last sentence ) |

Foreign Affairs › Strange When People Refer To Africa In The Same Sense As Us States by Bota(op): 3:47pm On Jul 15, 2009 |
Do you ever feel its strange when people are introducing other people publicly and they say '' he has been to California, Florida, Michigan, Maryland AND Africa ! '' Like Africa is another state, not a continent by itself. Is there any reason why this is done? I hear it so often. |

Truth is even if they pay reparation, none of us will see a dime, the people that will chop and yank it off to offshore accounts are waiting (pls excuse my cynicism). Finally, a US President that can look straight into our eyes and say STOP BEING VICTIMS. A great wrong was done, everyone acknowledges that but the people that deserve the reparation are not even here, they are the ones that were taken away, not the ones left behind. |

You are just being immature. You already have this one, so now you are whining, you want someone else. Love is not all about how good she makes you feel, love is a decision. You need to sit up and face up to your responsibilities. You have laid your bed, so you must lie on it.
Goodluck ! |

Politics › Re: Do You Believe In Free Healthcare For All Nigerians? by Bota: 2:37pm On Jul 15, 2009 |
I will like free healthcare in Naija o but when we keep comparing our Naija systems to other nations, remember these people pay up to 40% of their income in taxes. Now, now, we all know how it is here. I remember they started giving out free medication for common illnesses like malaria some years ago and people (who are not even sick) will just go to the hospital to collect - their share of the national cake. This mentality will make it difficult for these things to work here. |
