I know people will say its for election or that the oga is just showing off.
Whatever be the case, I think it is really cool for the boss to do that for his employee. It shows he truly appreciates the mans service. Kudos to them both.

Plus the wife, I almost forgot

Bad idea. The driver will not be comfortable on his wedding day. He will not forget who is boss!
I think the intention is good though

One more thing, we have only heard OP's side of the story. I'm sure if the mom writes to explain why she is particularly anxious - maybe she is stringing a great guy along and the guy has been pleading with her to commit - we just don't get the full picture
Family / Re: 'I Moved Out Of My Parents House Because Of My Mum" - Lady by Bota: 1:26pm On Mar 04, 2018
No one c an love you more than your mum. They have good intentions but it comes off as nagging or criticism. I'm sure the criticism is coming from a place of love and wanting what she thinks is best for you. Just reassure her, tell her you appreciate her love and concern, that you are just making sure it's the right person and give her a big hug - then see what happens. wink

Visionless couples... undecided undecided

I don't agree,
For some people, a wedding is a lifelong dream; They probably knew they will run into difficulties but decided to go for it anyway. Not everytime plan, plan. Live a little, take some risk... splurge some...
This too shall pass - as long as they are hardworking, they will recover after some time and move into an even better place and enjoy the wonderful memories of their dream wedding party for a lifetime.

NB the person that posted on social media sounds a little jealous - just saying

If you don't help when you have 100 dollars, you will not pay anyone's school fees when you have 100 million dollars. Start now with one single person's school fees and lets see.

Great idea, but he and his family already do all that you mentioned below not a little - a whole LOT ! A giver never ever lacks, that is a biblical principle "Give, it will be given back to you good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over ! TRY IT and SEE !!

Churchillumoren:
Davido is an extremely talented young man, worth tons of millions of dollars just like his billionaire dad, but if he is bored doesn't know what to do with cash let him set up a foundation for deprived children in his state or local government. Too many people in his hood need meals, books, shelter, clothes . Help people feed. Take truck of food to IDP camps, give out scholarship s, top celebrities in d US do such. So many kids , are out of school, cost of one tyre of the range can feed lots of people a day, just help in your little way. We all love good things cars, clothes but spread d love around, touch lives. Set up small scale industries like your dad, employ young graduates, not just having a coterie of guys on your production payroll following u around. Tell others olamide, jazzy, etc. The other day dbanj gave Toke Makinwa N1m, at her book launch while children are suffering in his local government

Bota,

Ofcourse this is a topic that calls for the defence of what you believe in with reason, so yes i am being defensive on what i believe in.

I am not sure your last statement is relevant to this discussion as i dont know what convenience has got to do with the old testament.

It would have been better if you had added substance by discussing some of the points raised.

No sir, you are not defending , you are being defensive wink Anyway tithing is biblical ( I don't think there is any relevant bible passage that has not been quoted on this thread, so I'm not going to be a broken record and keep repeating the same thing ah ah) at the end of the day sha, as with every other thing, the choice falls squarely on your shoulder .

Religion / Re: To Tithe or Not to Tithe? by Bota: 3:54pm On Jul 29, 2009
orisebawo:

That is true but your statement needs backing up with reasonable explanations.

My take is simple on this matter and this is based on my understanding:

I do not believe in tithing, although i believe in offering and giving with a CHEERFUL HEART.

I believe tithing was part of the old testament and the death of jesus christ has made such practices irrelevant.

I have tried on my own to look for anywhere in the bible where tithing is supposed to be compulsory.

The more galatians and those old testaments are quoted before the call to tithe, the more i am convinced i am on the right part.

Even if at the end of the day my judgement is wrong , i am not bothered because when it comes to the things of faith, i act according to my belief.

If you believe in tithes that is fine, but dont tell me i need God to open my eyes to see things.

Everyone will be judged according to his faith and understanding, afterall not all of us can perform miracles, yet it doesnt make us less important in the eyes of God.

Whatever you do for God make sure it is what you actually believe in and not what you are told to believe in.

I love giving and i love sowing seeds, but as a good farmer i know there is a season for everything, a time to sow and a time to reap.

Hey, don't get so defensive. I was just giving the definition because there was some issue about the proportion of income that qualifies as tithe. BTW why is it that whenever something is not convenient we say it is old testament , na wa o

TV/Movies / Re: What Do You Dislike About Nigerian Movies by Bota: 2:55pm On Jul 29, 2009
Cut them some slack guys! Do you have any idea what kind of budget these movies are produced on? They are really low budget and they are doing a good job with the meager resources at their disposal. You simply cannot compare this to movies where Angelina Jolie alone will be paid millions. And it's not really fair to lump them all together, I don't watch a lot but I've seen that movies produced by Tade Ogidan and Tchidi Tchikere are quite decent.
