That is how Nigeria has so deteriorated! Everybody now has liberty to kill at will, whether federal, state, LGA, council, private, civil or military. God help Nigeria, its fast breaking into segments. |

TheGoodJoe:
The Hausas in the educationally challenged regions have been coping and they will continue to cope. They have their means to test the understanding of the principles being thought.
Just as a Chinese man who can not speak English can understand physics principles or a German who can not speak or write in English can understand Chemical laws and theories.
So is your problem the educational challenges some Northern communities face or is your problem the fact that a girl kidnapped, tortured and raped is found?
Thank God Amina Ali is alive and found.

You don't just pick innocent ones who are performing their legal duties because you want to please Buhari your dictator and commander. It doesn't work that way. Chevron would have waited to see what will happen on the expiration of the 72 hours ultimatum given by the 7 host communities to release these innocents.
I felt rattled when some pro Buhari and anti Niger Deltans on nairaland without weighing matters, make cheap and silly comments that has no bearing. Am sure many of you must have been benumbed to hit your keyboard further, by this latest news. Thumb up for the seven Gbaramatu-Ijaw host communities for taking a stand. |

diegwu01: Na lie, Chev would defend their own.. The community cannot force chevron to claim what isn't theirs, we will be better informed in the coming days I have worked with an oil company. They have staff, direct contract staff, indirect contract staff (sub contractors) and they issue ID cards accordingly bearing that oil company's name but with different designs and outlooks, so they can be allowed access into their premises. Yet they all together makeup the total number of workers of that company, because they are paid indirectly by the oil company. When there is an issue concerning non-staff, the oil company will never show much attention or concern as it will do if it is their direct staff. |

crazymod: continue deceiving yourself...... 1. why Shell or cheveron hasn't issue any statement if the arrested are their staffs? 2. If they are chevron workers, what are they doing close to pipeline installation without the authorization of their employer (shell or chevron) 3. Any jobless youth or prostitute in oil producing region is always a shell worker.
Niger Delta communities are protecting militants the same way northerners and muslims protected boko haram initially. Whatever, community is always the one to suffer more than the govt. they think they are deceiving. sharrrrrrrrrrrrraap! go back and read the story well. |
Politics › Re: Soldiers Get 72 Hours Ultimatum To Release Chevron Staff by boujaye: 6:16pm On May 17, 2016 |
perp: It is the duty of chevron to come out and make that claim not the communities. Did you read the story at all? Read: The host communities accused Chevron of paying lip service to arrest of the five community workers, saying that the military was harassing and intimidating community oil workers as Chevron has failed to come to their aid.
Speaking on behalf Oil producing Communities, the Chairman of Kokodiagbene, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, who spoke on behalf of the oil producing communities in the area, expressed dismay over nonchalant attitude of the management of Chevron over the arrest of the alleged five workers branded Avengers. |
