Izugab: Another God sent woman called me this morning. She's no other than Mrs Nyanyafu. Words can't describe how happy I am about what she did. She promised to send me a Blackberry phone worth close to 55k which I'll sell at Emeka Offor plaza in main market Onitsha, a 30k worth airtime which I'll also sell to retailers around and finally clothes and shoes which I'll wear while in school. Am so happy on hearing this good news. May God bless her wherever she's. Please my beloved nairalanders, help me thank her oooo cos I still think that am dreaming. Mrs Nyanyafu God who is all seeing and all rewarding will cover you on every side, because you have removed this young man's reproach. God less you ma. |

Adonis3: Op I really do feel for you and wish I could be of assistance.
However, the assistance I can offer though may not be monetary but I believe would go a long way helping you.
You have to understand that in life sacrifices have to be made and everything is about opportunity cost. Yes, I understand your desire and crave for higher learning but before you make any decision, ask yourself this question "is it really worth it?" Nigeria today churns out many graduates each year to join the already saturated employment market. Many graduates want to work in an office leaving many of the non-white colar jobs unexploited. Does being a university graduate guarantee a good life?
Many come here telling you not to mind anyone advising you to leave university education for now but just few of them have actually offered to assist you. In the world we find ourself, nobody gives a hoot about you! It's you and your GOD my brother.
Like someone said, it doesn't stop at first year. What would you do in subsequent years, would you keep coming to nairaland to seek help? I hope you know that the Geology you want to study requires a lot (finances, time and strength) coz I see you're talking about doing a part time job or so, I know because I have friends who are studying it.
That #25k you paid could have been invested into something that would have been yielding profits now or later.
My advice (I may be wrong), if you can't get the funds for education, put it aside, at least for now. Get something to do. You can be doing some research on your own, you can get contents related to your choice course and read up.
I pray the Almighty in his mercy would come to your aid and guide your footsteps so you tread carefully.
NB: This thread would NEVER get to FP so stop wasting your time shouting lalasticlala. Do all you can to direct traffic to the thread, you can use the link as your signature and make sure you comment on the first page of topics on front page. But just forget the thought of it getting to FP, it won't! can't you see you are a murderer? But very soon you will hear his testimony on this forum. |

DeeTus: OP, releasing your bank account quickly makes it look like 419. This is Internet and a lot of things come into play. there is nothing 419 in this case, all the proofs are there, he needs help and his account no. is asked for by some persons, those touched by God and can help will do so. I pray he gets as many help as possible to save somebody's future and life. |

Nairaland General › Re: Where And How Did I Get It Wrong?....urgent Advice Needed Pls by boujaye: 3:34pm On Jan 07, 2016 |
Brother, from your post, you never showed gratitude, you never appreciated the one that made you what you are today. You learnt from a professional of 30 years experience, he gave you free hand to learn and you became a don and parted with him on the grounds of money. You missed it all. Everything is not about money, a good name is better than silver and gold says the scripture. You never left with a good name, you feel complacent that indeed you have arrived. He has made you somebody out of nobody, and you feel he is no longer important. You marred your relationship with him because of your crave for money. He is old enough to be your father or grandfather, and could easily cursed you and that is it because am sure you never left with his blessings. The scriptures says "give honor to whom honor is due"
If it is possible I will ask you to return to him and make peace with him by pleading for his forgiveness (you could go with somebody he is close to, maybe your in-law), try and revisit your relationship with him and make it cordial and give him the honor he deserves. I am sure if you had been a little bit controlling of your behaviour with him, he could have imparted more on you and you would have received his blessings before going on your "allawee" days. Running to prayer houses or shrines will add more problems, if you attend a good church, you could see your pastor for further counseling and prayers.
Trust God, He will show you mercy and restore you. |

Career › Re: Mathematics/stastistics Vs Mechanical Engineering by boujaye: 4:48pm On Jan 04, 2016 |
amazingspiderma: Despite the fact you claim to be maths graduate you still had to get IT certifications.I can bet you that an engineer with the same IT certifications will most likely do the same job anywhere in the world. But you will definitely find it difficult to compete for a job with B.Sc mechanical engineering Graduate despite your Masters in Engineering and B.Sc Mathematics. No! You are getting it wrong. I am not saying Engineering is not worth it, no its quite a prestigious profession. Your B.Sc/Masters or whatever, is only an academic qualification which is a prerequisite for entry level jobs, your certification by a recognized regulatory body is your professional qualification and that gives you an edge over others and establishes you as a professional in that field no matter your field of study, provided you know your worth. For instance being a graduate of mechanical engineering doesn't make you a professional or an engineer until you register and being certified or licensed by NSE/COREN etc before you can qualify legally to be known as an engineer (professionally). My advise to Op is that mathematics has a wider employment opportunity; be it in the business, architectural, computational, oil and gas sector. |
Career › Re: Mathematics/stastistics Vs Mechanical Engineering by boujaye: 3:42pm On Jan 04, 2016 |
calculator123: the above.courses am comfortable with, presently am in maths dept in one of the federal uni around, going to 200lvl next year, pls classify them under prospects, chances of being self employed e.t.c by the way i will be 18 next year Boy, i will advise you go for Mathematics. With maths you can fit into several field of endeavour (IT/ Banking /Numerical Science based jobs/ Engineering/technology management trainee employment opportunity etc. where you will be trained and grounded to handle technical jobs. If you choose, you can make a career by going for professional courses and becoming certified in that field. For mechanical, the scope of employment is not as wide as that of mathematics. Meanwhile I studied Industrial Mathematics in the uni and am today working as an ICT guru of my company (with many IT professional certifications obtained). Also pray about it for God's guidance. Best of luck. |

Buhari is a breath of fresh AIR. The IPOB Youths and friends are no longer robbing and looting Nigeria blind
Under GEJ, IPOB illiterates that did not finish secondary school turned to overnight millionaires simply because they got concessions to ship petroleum products.
Those days are GONE- IPOB Youths, get used to it.

joseph1832: This is hilarious. So all the celebration was indeed, for nothing. Its a clear pointer that those who rant for this imaginary Biafra are just looking for ways to ferment trouble.
One will even ask them, where was Nnambi Kanu and his Radio Biafra during the last administration?
Its almost funny how those who clamor for this Biafra, kept mute during the last administration, and now decided to rant, during this administration, all in the name of being 'marginalize'.
Let's even ask ourselves, if a particular community or set of people are marginalized, isn't that community or set of people suppose to petition the FG and state their course rather than call for secession?
I'll say this loud and clear for those who have ears to hear. IPOB and her sympathizers are only shouting for Biafra because and only because Goodluck Jonathan lost the presidential election!!!. liar!! |

hopilo: Planning the budget with estimated oil price of $38 per barrel for 2016 when the oil price as at today is $32 per barrel with a high propensity to drop further down is Budgeting in deficit and no nation in the world does that. It is like you earning 32,000 naira salary and the list you made for family expense is at 38,000 naira.
Please who can analyse this budget projection. I think it is better to face reality than dwell in fantasy in the name of faith. that is the level of the economic advisers in Buhari's government, very poor projection |

Bevista: That's fine by me, as long as prepaid meters are available. Scrapping the fixed charges is also a welcome development.
As long as people only pay for what they actually consume, Nigerians should learn to pay the right price for a service. That is the only incentive for investors to commit their funds for long term improvement of the sector.
The telecoms model is a good example of how appropriate pricing stimulates service, competition, jobs - and ultimately - lower prices. my friend close mouth, politicians are only using us. why is there such hardship every where and they do not hv answer to any and you are here forming sermon. in d advanced country, how is their economy and the sincerity in service of their politicians? |
