Thinking that we can always get better with ourselves and the influence our environment has on us, I am of the opinion that the followings can help us to reduce or probably eliminate the act of bigotry or tribal e-war. Explore: 1. Have it at the back of your mind that even Seun can not arrest you if you don't comment on a post. So, try hard not to be offensive if you must comment. 2. Anytime you MUST send in a comment/post, be aware that 'Mentions and Likes' don't add value to your physical life but only gives you a temporary joy or e-morale; don't get desperate to get one. 3. Before you mention or reply a fellow NLer, ask yourself this question: How do I feel if am addressed this way? Either you are right or wrong... 4. The other person behind the keyboard is also human being like you: ask yourself again before typing, that, can I talk to this person like this if I meet him one on one? 5. Finally, the most effective way to avoid 'Necessary Bigotry' or even tribalism is by crossing your mind that you will not do it online nor anywhere. We all know when we do the wrong things. Even me as I (speak) type, am guilty of some of these things written here but the best any man could do for himself is to improve himself and strive to add value to life. As I know that strict adherence to all the aforementioned will drop traffick on NL, I also enjoin us not to mistake humour for disdain. Your contribution will add value to the post. Safe! |

I dont still get the reason some highly placed Nigerians remark every national and sensitive issue with sentiments and abrupt shallowness... I guess the reason we find it so difficult to teleport from the Miry situation we find ourselves today. How can somebody with sound health and mental alertness be requesting that they declare 'Fulani Herdsmen' terrorist group even IF some of them have decided to be unmanageable evils. But come to think of it, will it be just to tag Nigerians 'Criminals or Fraudsters' just because most of the Nigerians traveling out to other countries have criminaj minds or have involved in one crime or the other. Fulani herdsmen as a group or people have never for once thru their Association, Miyetti or wetin wetin, come out publicly for once to support the activities of those killers hiding under the umbrella of herdsmen. Those guys killing in that guise are the terrorists but Herdsmandhip is a profession that has Association. They have not come to confront FG nor the citizens before, they have not boasted to set Nigeria on fire, they have not promised to obstruct a national function nor threaten to deny citizen their right. Tagging Fulani herdsman a terrorist group is equivalent to tagging every yoruba man a ritualist or calling every Igbo man a drug baron or calling every Hausa man on the street a book haram, common, its gravely unfair, let's be realistic. An average Fulani man might be aggressive in nature but its not in record that they commercialize war. |
A Lady on this platform (can't remember her name for now) once mentioned and I quote, that, "do the right thing and IPOB will die a natural death". I wholly agree with this statement and not even the IPOB alone but other agitations as reasonable they are. If you decide to take an idol from its worshiper, you need to give him the 'Jesus' that works. This is d time for the truth (av always been on this path tho) and some of us that have conscience will always use this means or another to mention that you can't continue to lead people through the hard way and expect them to keep mute, it doesn't happen anywhere in the whole planet (Israelites story testifies to this in the bible). Even animals will agitate. The IPOB Agitation and the likes might actually not be necessary again immediately the channel to make us united is finetuned aopropriately. What am projecting here is that the huge responsibility lies on the crown head. It is high time the persons we call our leaders live above the name, potential or status they bear, and wake up to the duty they are engaged and paid for. They should stop being unsupportive to the progress of the entity called Nigeria. They should stop window dressing and work for us. They should realise that if they continue living or leading this way, even if IPOB dies a natural death as envisaged earlier in this text, another UNKOWN will be greeted welcome. Saraki should call osinbajo to order, while Buhari calls out to Dongara. Emefiele should call Adeosun and Fayose should beg Okorocha, IBB and OBJ should beg or infirm intending Atiku that: IF THEY ARE NOT ALL CAREFUL, THE BLACK MAMBA THAT THEY ARE PULLING ITS TAIL BECAUSE ITS HEAD LIES IN THE HOLE MIGHT ACTUALLY BE DANGEROUS PERADVENTURE, IT FEELS TOO UNCOMFORTABLE. It is not a threat but just a MERE and usual expression. |
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday in Yola, reinstated the commitment of the Federation Government to keep one, indivisible Nigeria. Osinbajo made the commitment while speaking at the reception in Yola in honour of the new President of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF), the Most Reverend Musa Filibus. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN The vice-president, therefore, urged Nigerians to sustain the unity which he said was the dream of the fore fathers of the country. According to him, Christians are encouraged to pursue justice and reconciliation with people of other faith. While congratulating Filibus for being the first Nigerian and second African to emerge President of LWF, Osinbajo urged him to work toward uniting the church and promoting peace and love. The Nigeria senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, have qualified for the final of the 2017 Afrobasket championship following their hard-earned 76-71 win over Senegal on Friday night. Though they were stretched, D’Tigers were on top of their game as they won three of the four quarters in Friday’s semifinal clash. At the end of the first quarter, D’Tigers established a-15-12 points lead over their opponents. The second and third quarters were also fiercely contested but the Nigerian men nicked it at 19-17 and 18-16. While Senegal won the final quarter 26-24, it was not enough to deny Nigeria a place in the final. Senegal were trying to reach the final for the first time since 2005; but they were denied yet again this time by D’Tigers who are keen on successfully defending the title they won two year ago. Nigeria will face Tunisia in Saturday’s final. devindevin2000:Must you be tribalistic? Do u always do this when u come back ur working place or u don't even have job for now. Well, my advice is that you should think deeply about your life, I have the conviction that you can't just continue this way. So that ur children will not ask you about this present time of your life in the nearest future. Questions like; Dad where were you when your friends were progressing in life? |
