“It is well-documented by the State Department and by respected human rights organisations that Nigerian army personnel have, for many years, engaged in a pattern and practice of gross violations of human rights against the Nigerian people and others, including summary executions of prisoners, indiscriminate attacks against civilians, torture, forced disappearances and rape. Rarely have the perpetrators been prosecuted or punished,” he said Too true. |
From this thread we can see that Nigerians enjoy being ignorant and deceived. Little wonder politicians deceive easily. The poster has shown how this is done. Mind you, this is not a new trick. It is all over the streets of UK. Yet, you see people embracing ignorance, just wanting to believe something metaphysical to a common trick. My goodness! At poster, thank you, but in the land where ignorance is bliss, it is folly to be wise. |
Looks like a very cheap event. Like a sare wa gba occassion. Emeka Ike be blaming himself for coming. And those twins are old now though. They're too old to be doing psquare na. They should start wearing agbada etc now and drop that child's play. The organizer cut cost gaaaan. Lol @ the stage. Any artiste that falls on that stage, his career is over. Meanwhile, that's a small congregation. |
theplushist:You took the words right out of my mouth. Bless you! |
Mopolchi:Ok, so lets examine this ur theory. So saying prayers doesn't guarantee that what we want will br answered, so we are just gambling if he will answer or not depending on his mood swings. So why then do we pray If answer is not guaranteed. That means whatever happens we can say god willed it. Sth was bound to happen anyway, doesnt mean a god did it. 2. u describe a god. How do u know all these features? Dont quote the bible. Speak of facts. Not fiction. U may as well quote Shakespeare. 3. But if u said that god is a mystery how then do u know him? A mystery is a phenomenon. So how can u then describe what u dont know? Since good and bad comes from this god, what if this god is in fact satan doing both good and bad? Since u say we cant know who god is, u cant say if im right or wrong. Thousands die and a baby is saved, praise god. How fair is that? and u will reply, the way of god is a mystery to man. How convenient to explain issues that way for lack of intelligent answers. Now u say we are created in his image and likeness and we are gods. So when an slowpoke is born, or siamese twins, thats in his image? What about a transvestite? Dwarfs? tell that to a baby born without hands. If u are a god, kindly command a million dollars my way tonight. Look lets be sincere, between u and I, u know this religion thing is a sham. There really is no god in the clouds up there. Its just fancy tales to put man in check and give us something to believe in. To keep the poor man occupied, hoping for a better tomorrow here or in heaven. Its a fraud. |
Mopolchi:Quick question, if our God does whatever the funk he wants, which may include not answering our prayers, why then do we pray? He can just do good or bad, as his mood dictates. Also u say he does not predetermine, he only foresees. Wow, that's a limitation to his powers. So he can only see what will happen. So why then do we pray? and I was thinking he could "do all things". |
patostation:Oh that means the couple we're not prayerful then? Or God didn't hear their prayers? Or they didn't pray so God didn't protect them because he was waiting for them to pray but since they didn't, well. In all instances, why then is this God good? How can we not blame God for bad events, but praise him for good ones? If he had no powers for preventing bad, how can he have powers to do good? |
exxell:Why are u talking like this? That u are alive today and the couple is dead is because god protected u, and he didn't protect them. He loves u more than them. Or maybe it was not he that created them. Let's blame the devil for the bad things and praise God for the good ones. He couldn't stop the devil from doing those bad stuff, or he just doesn't feel like. It's not that he can't. So thank god for Ur situation, and praise him when a million fall at ur right and a thousand die at ur left and it doesn't come close to u. Because that is what Christianity is all about. Amen. So don't u dare say there is no God. Wadumean? That's as bad as saying there is no Santa Claus, and I will not stand for that. He exists because we believe he exists. Don't ask us for cogent reasons and facts. We just blindly believe even when it doesn't make sense and that is what we call faith. And yes we may just be too foolish to see that religion is worlds biggest scam of all time. We also believe the bible and whatever it says. Why? Because it's the bible duh! And don't ask us for extraneous verifications of the contents of the bible. So for all the disasters u described above, God has a reason for everything. He uses such disasters to 'glorify his name'. Yes he uses tragedies to glorify his name. And don't u dare call him a sadist. That's how he created hell, see? To burn and punish his children who he loved so much he died on the cross for them. Oh! God is so good. Be looking now, if u ask us for evidence of gods existence, we will reel out hundreds of passages from the bible. And if u ask us how we can prove the truth of the bible, we will reel out some more passages from the same bible. That's how we roll. Like we can prove the contents veracity by quoting fancy passages from it. Yep, we are Christians like that. @the post: This is sad news. May they rest in peace together. |
The truth of the matter is many good girls let the good guys go believing there are better guys for them. A bad girl gets a good guy, recognizes and appreciates him. Many other reasons why women are single at marriagable age. They rarely look at the heart. All they care about is his looks, packaging etc. Does he go to church, is he a worker, what job does he do, is he God fearing and all those trifling matters, properly described as high standards. Not that these are not important, they are just not essential qualities of a good man. Also the time when these girls should make themselves available, they are either too busy with work, church or academics, or too tied to their parents. And they play hard to get at such crucial times. As u know, men dont have expiry dates, women do. Also a girl can be good, but can she be a good wife? Is she arrogant, materialistic, too demanding and basically a spoilt brat? Is she being too intelligent for her good? Many factors scare guys off. For instance, If shes single and drives to and from work, she should park the car and spend some time in BRTs. Fancy cars dont usually attract suitors. You will find them in church, when they are not 'married to Jesus', they are praying for husbands. While their mates met their dream husbands in parties. Ladies, not all husband materials will pray like pastor Oyedepo, look like denzel washington and be rich, some good guys are in BRTs, will look like Jay Z and will eventually make u happy in life |
Since he has not taken the oath of office yet, he is still an ordinary citizen and thus has the right to prevent any newsman from covering his personal activities. If this is done after he becomes president, we may cry foul like this, but for now, he has every right to restrict AIT from covering his private matters. He isn't yet in public office. |
logica:Bless you! I've learnt something from this Ur post. Ur a wise one. |
saintneo:Bro u too get sense. It's sad how people here are calling the guy proud or arrogant. It shows how we have lost all sense of honor and dignity as a people, all for daily bread. Here's a story like that in the bible, where one guy eagerly gave away his birth right for porridge. Obviously many nigerians will do same if in that position. It's not about insubordination or rudeness, cos bag carrying is not part of his work, unless he is her PA or secretary. So those abusing the OP obviously think low of themselves- low self esteem. To me it's about human dignity, talk less of being a man. If it were his wife, no problem, but an employer in an office environment, no. I also think he did the right thing by refusing. And I applaud his boldness at that. If u can't stand for something, u fall for everything. |
Just like you, I'm also interested in Nigerian development. I wish for a time when our nation will leave the title of a mere developing country. I wish for a time when our green passport will not be an invitation to undeserved suspicion and embarrassment at foreign airports. For a time when economic growth will truly reflect in the lives of the common people. I wish for a time when we can be proud to be Nigerians again. On the other hand, I, like you love the comfort of continuity, the security of the familiar and tranquility of repetition. But truth be told, there is something terribly wrong with this country. Corruption is destroying our economy and so is insecurity, unemployment and lack of power supply, infrastructural neglect, to name a few. The economic gains remain in the pocket of the few at the top, while you and I scramble for what is left. Some of us point fingers and accuse the government of not doing enough. But if we are looking for the guilty, we need only look into a mirror. Four years ago, we voted for good luck and not PDP, we were carried away with the facade of innocence and fresh alternative this government enticed us with. We hoped and waited. Now it is obvious that Goodluck Jonathan cannot do better for us than he is doing now, despite the myriad of propaganda that conspires to rob us of our reason and corrupt our common sense. Worse still, the media has become a tool to broadcast falsehood with the hope of blurring the truth, and deceiving us. The truth however is obvious on the faces of the impoverished homeless men and women on the streets, in the minds of the jobless youths used as political thugs. In the tragedy that has become of our once great nation. A few hours from today, we have another opportunity to correct this damning error called PDP. But if you've seen nothing, If the crimes of this present government remain unknown to you, I suggest you allow the 28th of March, to pass unnoticed. But if you see what i see, if you feel as I feel, and if you seek as I seek, then I ask you to join me on Saturday, at your polling station with your PVC, to vote GMB/PYO, and together we shall give PDP a 28th of March that shall never ever be forgot. |

Why was this not done in the past years when the govt could? Did GEJ have to wait till millions lose their lives before pretending to care? The problem is many Nigerians are like the gold fish with only a few seconds memory span. We only remember the last few weeks before elections, and that is why politicians exploit our foolishness by doling out cash gifts, rice, etc. we in turn foolishly vote accordingly, for the highest bidder, forgetting where they were for the past three years. What has GEJ been doing for the past 5 years? Even a few months back this man acted like we didn't matter, like we were nothing, going to tan rallies while we were bombed by terrorists, while the army complained of under equipment etc, not even addressing the issue of boko haram till it got too late. This man is the most tribalistic leader we have ever had. He is incompetent and corrupt, do we not see this? Where are the jobs? Where is the electricity? A government that has failed in these two main sectors has failed in all. So what is it GEJ campaigners are saying? Now few weeks to elections he starts pretending to act, while we the gullible short memoried fools chant GEJ till 123. Do these praise singers even have jobs? These same people will come tomorrow and complain about phcn, joblessness, bad roads and corruption. We were cheated by Abba Moro, yet nothing happened. Billions of dollars allegedly missing, nobody loses their jobs. And many more flagrant corrupt practices with impunity. This same man that grants pardon to convicted looters of state funds. Immediately this govt gets elected the impunity will be boundless, because then he will not need us anymore. All these white elephant projects will cease, and we will be left with nothing but the empty bags of rice he gave us and faded PDP T-shirts. Is this what we want? Let's please look beyond these electioneering gimmicks and vote to show we are wiser. Let's taste change, and if that doesn't work, we remove the "change", until we get it right and get what we deserve as good people. |

One of the many reasons why NL has become bland to me is its recent predictability and partisanship. The responsibility of the news reporter is huge, should be carried with all sense of decency and respect for the reader. Now the question, How did this rubbish from an unverifiable source turn on FP? Oh, because it's an attack on GMBs integrity? NL has become very PDP and its disgusting. If someone quotes a TI index, it behooves of him to substantiate the statement by referring us to the relevant TI website. Not to some website that itself comits same blunder. Meaning this is a cocktail of cooked up trash. TI obviously never said this, why then has NL become a cheap rumor site? How did it make FP? The way it is, I can open a website and spew propaganda trash, and it makes news on FP here, and innocent NLanders will rely on it as fact. This is not news. At best this is a mere allegation without fact to support, and a dataless graph drawn up by an idle propagandist. It's funny and it's sad. |
