to cut the long story short, Starting in 2026, the Federal Government of Nigeria plans to formalize the country’s informal vehicle recycling market through an End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) programme. This initiative is projected to generate over N150bn in annual revenue while addressing environmental and safety concerns. Key highlights of the reform include: Recycling & Revenue: The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) will implement a circular economy model where vehicle owners pay a disposal fee at registration. Over 85% of car components are estimated to be reusable or recyclable. Import Regulations: To prevent the dumping of "unroadworthy" vehicles, the government will mandate pre-export certifications for all used car imports starting in 2026. Green Transition: Plans are underway to train engineers and establish standards for converting petrol/diesel engines to Electric Vehicles (EV) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Economic Growth: The reforms aim to boost local component manufacturing (e.g., tires, batteries) and create thousands of jobs in dismantling and logistics. Legislation: The government is drafting an Auto Industry Bill to transition current policies into a formal Act of Parliament, providing a stable legal framework for large-scale investment. The announcement follows a significant rebound in the automotive market, with passenger vehicle imports rising to N1.01tn in the first nine months of 2025. |

RIP to the dead. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Amen Please do an autopsy. This story no pure yet. for me, i don't believe he committed suicide or rather i would say i have an open mind till it is proven otherwise. i didn't see the means deployed for the act of suicide. was it poison, hanging... nothing .... anyway, read first line again.. |
10 CNG Buses for a whole community is laughable. I recently visited Kogi State and stayed in a town called Kabba. I explored several places, including Ogali community and Falele. Kogi State has the potential to become one of the richest states in Nigeria due to its abundant limestone resources, which is why Dangote established a cement factory there to access raw materials easily. However, the corruption, greed, and selfishness of politicians could cause significant harm to the economy. I have to restrain myself from using derogatory words about Nigeria. With the right leadership and commitment to good governance, the state can overcome challenges like corruption and political greed, paving the way for significant economic growth and prosperity. I remain hopeful for a brighter future for Nigeria. |
hmm as our Nigerian Igbo Brothers would say "Ike Gwụrụ" |
fikayormi:What on earth is this 80k, 100k ? Why do you think Nigeria doesn't have money why? do you have any idea how much is generated in taxes daily from the different sectors? do you want people to result in stealing before you know things are bad? Have you compared the prices of things early last year and the cost now? i picked 6 items yesterday at Blenco in lekki yesterday and my bill was over 100k for items i would get with less than 20k last year. do you drive? don't you see the cost of transportation/ fuel for drivers? are you aware civil servants cannot afford to stay close to the areas where their offices are located hence spend 4X their regular transportation? it is unfair for the government to be negotiating the salary like they are pricing fish when it doesn't affect them directly. to be in government you need a first school leaving cert right? some civil servants are Bsc holders yet the allowance of these politicians side hens are more than the annual salary of these politicians. if you keep the people poor, when it is time for re-election, small flash of wealth and promises that would never come to pass is enough to win and if not they use money, pay the thugs, rig the elections and the cycle continues. if you ever get the chance to hang around these politicians, you will have a different orientation. there is a big difference in hearing about how they spend this money online and how they spend the money in real life. know this.. the people fighting the government are comfortable, rich and influential people. they can be bought but have refused to be and are fighting for what should ordinarily be done by a working government. if the people they are fighting for starts fighting them and they stop, anything Nigerians see going forward is on their heads it is better to go through the pain now and get it right because the next review is uncertain for the rest of this administration . i am not a civil servant but i know few . if they borrow funds just count it as bad debt. these are family men and women. people should be able to survive on what they are paid from work and not borrowing continually. do you also know politicians are also civil servants? why are they over paid? finally the government should be afraid of the people not the people afraid of the government they choose to represent their interest locally and internationally. |
RIP |
Truths9ja:funny how you didn't know it was sarcasm |
nairalanda1:When robberies were high, the Nigerian police force NPF set up the Special Anti-Robbery Squad SARS... Few years down the line look what happened #EndSARS #Oct2020 they abandoned the purpose for which they were set up and started their own agender. in the process became more deadly than the robbers they were instituted to dismantle. they should use the intelligence available to tackle the insecurities once you add a position or title to them, they become something else like those JTF and SARS. |

there you go you already know the problem you are broke . when you have money and you have done it all then comeback to this thread. ask those rich boys in your school who party everyday and sort lecturers for grades, those whose fathers are the owners of our country.. ask them if they are tired of life. i'll give you this advise for free..... your time will come but between now and then, don't compare yourself with anyone and be content with what your have.... happiness comes from within you, fulfillment breeds satisfaction... life will teach you many lessons when you are down, broke and confused but it is entirely up to you to make of it what you will. |
