A speeding driver in Germany was saved from a €105 (£93) fine when a snow-white dove interceded on his behalf.
The driver was caught on speed cameras - but his identity was hidden by the bird's wings spread in flight.
A light-hearted police statement suggested that perhaps "it was no coincidence the Holy Spirit" intervened - a reference to the dove as a symbol of that aspect of God in Christianity.
"We have understood the sign and leave the speeder in peace this time."
But the officials in Viersen, near Germany's western border, added: "We hope that the protected speeder likewise understands this 'hint from above' and drives appropriately in the future."
The driver was travelling at 54km/h (34mph) on a stretch of road with a 30km/h speed limit, police said.
But since only the car, and not the driver, could be identified, he was probably spared the €105 fine "thanks to the feathered guardian angel with seemingly carefully spread wings".
The Viersen police added that the dove should also have been fined for moving so fast in the restricted zone.
"However, since we do not know where it has to be on time for [the upcoming Christian holy day of] Pentecost, we will allow mercy over justice here too."

You have to hustle; you have to think outside of the box to make things happen when it seems impossibly difficult for anything to happen, to continue to get up off the canvas when you are beaten down relentlessly. I never lose, I will succeed not immediately but absolutely and definitely, I will take action when others hesitate, I will think big when others don’t, I will sacrifice when others won’t, I will dare to dream of greatness when others fear it, I will outwork my competition day and night, I am the captain of my fate, the master of my soul, the boss of my dreams, the king of my goals.
What does it mean to be an entrepreneur?
You have to be a leader; to be unique, to be hungry always and never satisfied and to be followed by the competition, to take criticism and negativity and use it to fuel your greatness, to survive the storms and the tough moments, to be humble in the good and bad times. It is all about sacrificing your today for a better tomorrow, it is living a few years of your life like others won’t so you can spend the rest of your life like others can’t (that is the value of leaving your comfort zone). That sacrifice, the dedication, the commitment, the discipline only rare humans beings have these qualities, only the very best among us. Then there’s failure; because we all know it is coming, it is human nature. I mean find me a successful person that has never failed, you can’t they don’t exist.
The only difference between the extremely successful among us in any field and the unknown, the only difference is; the successful guy didn’t give up, he found a way when there seemed to be no way. The other guy; he threw in the towel, he gave up, he never learnt how to do something in a new way. Failure is simply learning another way not to do something; there are great lessons in failure. When it comes to success, there is rarely ever a time when luck comes into play, hard work however always comes into play. There is no greater satisfaction in life than that of hard work paying off, no greater satisfaction than knowing you are self made. Take action while all others are sitting on their hand. The greatest difference between the “somebody’s” and the “nobody’s” very often only comes down to; who is willing to take action, who is willing to put it to work. Are you willing?

If you truly want more out of life, chances are you are not really going to fit in anywhere. I mean really fit, in because the majority of people settle for average and if you don’t drop down to their level, there’s going to be conflict. They won’t like the fact that you are committed to your dream because it reminds them that they gave up on theirs. One of the biggest reasons most people don’t follow through with their dream life is fear that they will be left out if they achieve it, this may be conscious or unconscious but most people give up not because they can’t make it, not because they aren’t capable but because; they are surrounded by people who have settled, people who don’t want to see you succeed because it will remind them that they didn’t which might lead them to start saying; you’ve changed since you became successful. Not knowing or understanding that your goal was always to change, to develop, to re-invent yourself, you will hear ridiculous comments like: “successful people are greedy” or “there is more to life than money”. Of course there’s more to life than money, there’s also more to life than struggling to pay bills and put food on the table. So much negativity towards the successful! And the sad part is they will never be successful with this mentality.
You ask 99% of successful people how they achieved their dream life? I can assure you the story will be the same; they worked harder than the majority, they kept going when the majority gave up, they suffered through failure but made sure that was not the end, rather a lesson learned. They went through hell but always focused on the end goal. Sadly; most people would rather argue for their limitations than know there are no limitations, most people would rather hate on the successful than learn from them or model them, most people would rather pick up a beer rather than a book and start complaining that they are in a dead end job or complain that they got laid off from their job. But if they made the right decision earlier on! They wouldn’t have to clean up their bad decisions later on!
Most people would rather party now and suffer later; maybe that’s why most people are not where they want to be, maybe that’s why most people complain, maybe that’s why most people live with regrets, all because they refuse to leave their comfort zone which is their worst enemy. If you are the most people, commit right now to becoming the minority, set your goals right now, don’t you waste another moment of your life, find a mentor in a book or a person and learn from them; model them, develop your mind, re-invest your, make a commitment to be different, make a commitment to never give up on your goals (your dream) .
Your future self is begging you to make that commitment now, your future self is begging you to stick it out.
