PoliticsSee Why Some Nigerians Are Angry Over President Jonathan's New National E-ID by Breeze5000(op): 2:15pm On Sep 02, 2014
On the 28th of August Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan launched the new national e-ID card at the Villa in Abuja. The new e-ID card which is powered by MasterCard is a multi-purpose card for identification, electronic signatures, and can be used for depositing money, withdrawing and making payments. So it's both an ATM and ID card

But some Nigerians are not only angry but shocked at this development asking if the Nigerian security Authority actually signed off on this development. The problem here is not the National ID card itself which is a laudable achievement, but what people are worried about is the government allowing a Private Foreign Company "MASTER CARD" be tied to a sensitive issue like people's Identity People are very worried and amazed that the government can allow a Foreign commercial Company (Master Card) have access to such Sensitive data, like... http://naijajoint..nl/2014/08/photos-pres.html

Christianity EtcWe Gave Our School Fees, But Christ Embassy Could Not Change Us by Breeze5000(op):
The ongoing Saga between Pastor Chris Oyakhilomen and his Wife Pastor Anita has been having it's side effect for sometime now as you have those supporting Pastor Chris and those supporting his wife Pastor Anita. Below is an emotional piece written by a former member of the Church

Bidi : I won't lie that Christ Embassy was not one place I loved; indeed they caught us young and it was delicious and I will do it again if I have to. But the truth of the matter is that they couldn't keep us even though we came in our numbers, young people simply came the way they are in thirst and hunger and the word of God was sweet and hot and we loved it. We drank like the deer panting for water. And it was sweet. But yet again we left, they couldn't keep us. Those 'soon to be' lawyers, doctors, engineers... have now become, but no longer there because they couldn't really change us. All the excesses we came with was still there. We still struggle with intense lust and unhealthy competition... CONTINUES...http:///1oyEyuH

Nairaland GeneralBuy Phone Credits For Friends Or Families From Anywhere In The World by Breeze5000(op): 3:57am On Feb 08, 2012
I just stumbled upon this site and decided to share here. I think it is extremely cool. Now you can buy phone credits and refill the phones of friends and families from anywhere in the world. I thinks this is really cool because people live in different parts of the world and sometimes families or friends living far away from you might not have money to buy credits for their phones at a particular time and you can just surprise them by buying and refilling their phone credits from anywhere in the world. I hope this will be useful to you. It is very simple to use. Log on the site below and choose the country your friend or family lives. Fill in their phone number and phone provider. Fill in your name and number, choose the amount of Credits you want to buy, and then pay online. Your friend or family receives the credits at once! See Link Below

Brightmind:
We need to be careful the way we lash out on and criticise others, u could discourage someone from going into what really makes them happy, if you are not comfortable with someone's activities on NL just ignore them,

I keep wondering, we all register in NL for different reasons, while some might see it as a place where u can just gist and go; some other persons might want to promote their ideas and works through it, the basic idea of a forum is to share ideas, it doesnt end at just making comments, or gossiping,

I doesnt pay to be rude - even if nobody is seeing you, respect for people is a sign of love to humanity,

It feels so bad seeing people trying to make caricature of posters who have rights to express theirslfs even under their own post,

I beg make una take am easy, this life is a simple and easy one, share love and respect and same will come back to you---its the law of karma, you attract only what you can give, you will be happier if you can make people happy when then meet you on a thread, its about socializing,
Thank you so much. One of the best post I have read on NL so far,   I do write for fun and tries to disguise my writing style and hide my true Identity so people that knows me wont know it's my blog because of who I am and what I do in real life. The blog was not set up to make money like some running wild here actually thinks, (though I put ads just like others to make it look serious) if I truly want to make it one of the best blogs online and really make money with it I have the means to Interview whoever, write articles on inside stuff I know and draw crazy traffic but if I do that my friends and others will know it's me and this wont give me the objectivity to write as I should.

But like you truly pointed out, this place is about socializing, so what if I am a poor struggling person trying to make a  living online instead of doing yahoo fraud or picking up a gun to rob, is it the duties of others to discourage me? What If i ended up becoming a robber how are they sure they or their families wont become my victims someday? I see a lot of kids running wild here looking for who to insult and I weep for the present generation of youths in Nigeria if this is all they truly have to offer. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Old mixing up with the youths, it is very common where I reside and both benefits from each other. Some older folks here might be weary of posting for fear of being insulted by kids that would actually be running errands for them in real life. You don't go about Insulting people just because it's a faceless Forum. How are you sure you are not Insulting your Aunt? Pastor? Doctor? Favorite Actor? or even Uncle or Aunt paying your school fees? But the point these bunch are missing is that through the net they can meet their future partner, land that dream job, Meet someone that can get them that Visa they've been seeking forever, make friends that would be closer that blood relations. But because this is a faceless forum, people forget all this and just believe the number reason they come here is to INSULT others but it shouldn't be so. This is the biggest gathering of Nigerians online, so there are professionals here, teachers, doctors, celebrities,, etc   In another Forum that I belong to,  where people reveal themselves, there is this young guy (20-23) that resides in Naija, he mixes freely with us older folks. He debates us, puts his points across and before you know it people started liking him and he gets assignments from people abroad and gets paid. When I finally met him in person, I brought him to a project we were working on and though he was surrounded by people he could only dream of meeting but he held his own. Through that meet he is making a living for himself doing what he is studying in school. (He is a Final year student in Unilag) So before the guy graduates this year he is already doing his dream job and he got that opportunity because of his attitude online. There are people here that might not even have 5k to buy food and there are so many people here that could help but it's your online personality that would attract you to them. To me this should be one of the best reason why people come online, to meet, socialize and discuss personal problems. I have friends all over the world and some are like blood relations. Nobody knows what tomorrow might bring so lets live today like it's our very last day. There is too much trouble and sorrow in the world so we shouldn't spend our time fighting each other especially when it is not necessary. If what I wrote made sense to even one person, then it's worth writing it. I will post this again as a new thread. @ BRIGHTMIND, once again thanks for taking your time to write that beautiful stuff up there. I do hope to meet or communicate with you someday. Have a nice day

RomanceRe: Why Do Nig Men Lie About Their Nationality In Their Desperate Bid For A Date? by Breeze5000: 1:36am On Jan 31, 2012
Do you know these for sure or it's something somebody told you? Cos most of what you said is not necessarily correct.

Here is how it is, back in the 90's there were not so many blacks or Africans in Germany just the Black American Soldiers and since there were many Racist Germans then the only way Africans/Nigerians could hook or mix up with German chicks is to first lie that they are Americans and once the German girls falls in love, they reveal their true Identity (Don't forget there were very few Nigerian/African girls in Germany back then)  Fast forward to the present, most Nigerians are no longer going for the Germans but their African/Nigerian sisters. Many people have the German nationality, also some of the  Germans now mix freely with Africans and other Nationals unlike in the 90's when they have not met or mix with lots of Africans,  Now this is applicable only to Germany back then, but even there are so many other countries in Europe where you don't have these and Nigerians there are very proud of who they are and where they are from. Sometimes they are even too proud and tries to bend the Europeans to their own Nigerian rules and standards. There you have it! So it is a very very few that denies where they are from but the majority of them are extremely proud of Nigeria and where they come from. (By the way most of the American soldiers have been deployed back home so your story of people claiming to be American soldiers happened way back in the 90's not now)

If you know you can't share you story here, why bother at all?
Like I said first thing you notice about 4yr old kid that newly discovered the net, is they cant make a sentence without INSULTS because they actually think it makes them cool. Dont worry when you grow up you will understand what I am trying to say here. For now you still have all the time to enjoy your kiddies ranting. By the way nobody says you must click the Link you know? If the story is interesting to you then you click to find out more, if it's rubbish and boring you ignore like others but I guess that's too difficult for your age group to understand. And if you think I will go that route and trade insults with you then you must be younger than i even thought. Till now Seun has not come out say I am breaking any rules
PoliticsRe: Al-mustapha Sentenced To Death By Hanging? by Breeze5000: 12:45am On Jan 31, 2012
MarcAnthon:
I don't think Mustafa had smart lawyers. They should have urged him, when all his subordinates began to testify against him, to change his plea to 'guilty' and blame it on military hierarchy where he received orders from Abacha himself, who is conveniently dead. That way he would have gotten away with a much lighter sentence. Guess they weren't reading the handwriting on the wall.
Although justice us served, it won't be out of place to imagine he was powerless to do anything to stop those events IF the paranoid Abacha had ordered them. The only thing u might blame him for then is that he should have resigned, but that would have meant certain death for him and his entire family. It was a catch 22 situation but I don't feel sorry for him because while his reign lasted he was all over the place feeling like a god. Now he answering for his past sins.
Even if they eventually free him - which is not beyond imagination - in the mean time he'd have to confront his mortality in uncertainty, and that should be scary. I don't envy him at all.
Actually Mustapha sort of imprisoned Abacha. Did you ever see Abacha traveled to anywhere?  Mustapha as the CSO was always telling him shadows are chasing him or his own shadow would assassinate him. Abacha trusted him explicitly and he exploited that. Not even allowing his superior (Generals) see or come close to Abacha. He insults and disrespects them, and at a time he was indirectly running things

She held her own very well with Liz Benson in Fortunes!!
It's not like anybody is dismissing her, just telling it like it is. She is fun to be with or be around but she is not what you call an actor. Trust me when I say I know, They use her because of her beauty. Any beautiful girl like her can land a role in nollywood regardless of whether you can act or not. By the way I like Regina a lot, she is fun  but not what you would call a proper actor. She would be in the league of say, Oge Okoye definitely not in the league of Mercy Johnson or Genny when it comes to acting
TV/MoviesRe: Nigerians Are Cowards (Half Of A Yellow Sun Casting) by Breeze5000: 11:42pm On Jan 30, 2012
Nnenna1:
Actors and Actresses are not the problem with Nollywood. Rather it is the crew (directors, producers, script writers) who churn out utter crap.

I agree that Oge Okoye and the likes are mediocre - though I maintain that they are better performers than Regina Askia. Don't let nostalgia cloud your reasoning.

Here are some Nollywood actors who are world class in my opinion - regardless of whether they can pull off a nice British sounding Nigerian accent or not:

1. Pete Edochie
2. Olu Jacobs
3. Joke Silva
4. Onyeka Onwenu
5. Bimbo Akintola
7. Patience Ozokwor
8. Sam Dede
Nnenna1  so true about Regina Askia, anyway you have an Impressive list, but I would put it this way.
1.Olu Jacobs (He is international anyway)
2. RMD (Richard Mofe Damijo)
3. Liz Benson
4. Edith Azu Jane
5. Genevieve Nnaji  (Yeap she is extremely good but needs good stories & directors to truly show her skills)
6. Joke Silver
7. Mercy Johnson (Raw talent at it's best, needs good stories and directors)
8. Bimbo Akintola
9.Sam Dede
10. Onyeka Owenu
11. Patience Ozokwu

Problem with Pete Edochie is, he has refused to play a different role apart from his normal Chief/Igwe roles so it's difficult to judge his skills. How would he fair playing a common thief/armed robber? Beard all shaved, etc  He would actually insult a director that would approach him for such roles and has actually said he wont shave his beard ,  so how can you judge such actor?

Very funny people. Regina Askia would be pleased for the love and strong support y'all showing her but to be serious. Regina Askia was never casted in the first place because of her acting Skills, but more for her beauty. People buy her movies not because she could act but because she is beautiful. This is the Truth from someone who knows,

The following people are light years away from Regina Askia in terms of acting
1.Genevieve
2.Mercy Johnson
3.Rita Dominic
4.Stella Damasus
5. Ini Edo
6. Funke Akindele

Okay enjoy your debates, and by the way Sophie Okonedo is not half Ibo, but half Edo, The name is Okon-EDO

Yes Nigerian men do not only seek Nigerian women but are getting married to them everyday. I am guessing you are a product of Nigerian marriage that not wit-standing Yankee or America is not the only part of the world Hello!!!  There is also another part called Europe remember? More than 70% of married Nigerian men in Europe are married to Nigerian ladies,  Also a lot of Nigerians have left extremely beautiful white girls to be with Nigerian ladies if not for anything (but for the culture) People don't get married just for looks, they also get married for what's inside the person and to some that's where the real beauty come from.

So why not just enjoy your God sent Gift in peace is what I cant understand! Complaining, Insulting Jonathan on the internet wont solve your problems would it? If you no longer believe in him or that God sent him to you, then by all means bring his government down and ask him to leave like your brothers in the Arab world are doing. Insulting him on the net makes no sense cause the truth is he doesn't feel it or care about your insults but if you put out a strong showing asking him to leave, he will bow to pressure. I mean same youths like you did the "IBB MUST GO" and he eventually left!
